We were a party of 18 and our server did a fantastic job attending to us. The food was was prepared well (they offer a typical bar style menu) and was served hot and quickly. When in Big Dicks Halfway Inn, you have to stop by this funny little spot! I heard from everyone and their dog to come here for the Minnow Shot, so of course we did and we split some nachos too. The nachos were fine, nothing to complain about, but the real star was the Minnow Shot, worth every penny. We was getting hungry and this place was conveniently close by from the lakehouse. Came in on a Friday night and the place was packed with people especially from the outside. We were seated right away inside though. Staff were friendly and attentive. We order some large meatlover and supreme pizzas. It was decent size and price. It was delicious and thin. We love coming here as it's like 5 minutes from our cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks! They don't have a huge menu but they do add new things to it. And of course take things off. I think they might do a smaller menu on summer cuz it's easier for the busy season. It is an older restaurant/bar. Been around for years. I have been going there since I was a kid. I got these delicious coconut shrimp tacos. Drinks are good and you can also take a minnow shot. Not for everyone of course. I got a cherry limeade cocktail and lake water cocktail. So good! The lake water cocktail was such a refreshing summer drink and a pretty green color. There is a lot of outdoor seating and some inside. They have a gift shop as well. It's been awhile since I bought anything. Warning, the drink menu has some names on it that are related to name of bar, which is "dick." Such as wet pu$$y, G Spot and more. Haha. Recently went here for a quick bite with my family after a weekend of lake fun. My experience was rocky from the start. First, I was greeted by incredibly rude and unwelcoming wait staff. I told the server we needed a table for four and by the look on her face and the huge sigh she let out, this must've been a felony. Things didn't get better after that unfortunately. My wife and kids and I were sat at a table that was covered in grime. There were food scraps, used napkins and ketchup stains all over the table. Not to mention there were flies by the swarm surrounding our table. Our server continued her march of disgust during our entire meal. My wife and I ordered our food and drinks, after which our server rolled her eyes and abruptly took our menus. She appeared to be annoyed that we wanted to eat at the restaurant we were at. By the time we got our food (45 minutes later), we had seen about 100 eye rolls from our server. Additionally, not even 10 feet away from our table we saw some other staff playing hanky panky. I am so thankful my kids were seated with their backs to it. Didn't know my nachos were going to be served with a side of indecency. Lastly, they had live music that was at such an ear splitting volume, I wish I had headphones for my kids. Our ears were ringing the whole meal. Overall, if you're looking for a place where you can enjoy cold, mediocre food and endure rude and lewd behavior.... this might be your place. They need to revamp the place or shut down. I regret spending my money here and feel like a failure as a parent for subjecting my kids to this poor establishment. Take your money elsewhere if you want to save your dignity. read more

On my first trip to Lake of the Ozarks, I was looking to have a great time relaxing on a boat, grilling, swimming & drinking. We stopped in here the night before we left & had an AMAZING time!! In fact, this is the place that made us decide to come back for a 2 week vacation a couple of months later & to come back every year since. Big Dick's is not a place where you will get a fancy gourmet meal. Idiots like "Justin" who post reviews that expect such are complete morons. This is a Lakefront party bar. Great cheeseburgers, cold ass beer & minnow shots are what you should expect & they deliver! For what this place is, it does it well. It's 5's in my book!! People need to rate a place for what it is instead of what it could be. If anyone was to change this place into a fancy, lite jazz muzak, foie gras on toast points, craft beer & wine bar... it would fail IMMEDIATELY!! As it is Dick's is PERFECT!!! I did notice that if you're a stuck up, entitled douche bag who treats people like servants... then the wait staff will treat you to what you deserve. However, if you're a grounded individual who loves people, loves to party & treat EVERYONE equally & (more importantly) RESPECTFULLY, then you'll have an amazing time & be treated well by some of the friendliest people in the country. (I would say the world, but Canadians are hyper-friendly to the point that it's creepy & obvious that they're over compensating for some horrific, secretive reason.) After getting to know a few of the staff & showing up on a regular basis during our vacation, my wife & I were treated like a member of the family. We try to bring as many friends as possible when we visit. Because of Big Dick's we've never left unsatisfied. We've extended our vacation to a month out of the year now & have erected a small cabin in honor of Big Dick's. The only thing we hope is that Big Dick's gets crabs.... one day. One word of caution.... the area is a noted drinking establishment. The police patrol the area REGULARLY.... both the roads & the water ways. Do NOT drink & ride. Take a designated driver, Uber, taxi (water or land) or walk. It's really not worth going to jail. That being said, if you use safe transportation, aren't a complete jerk-off & have great friends, Big Dick's is the place to go to have a blast. Dicks has been here at the lake for well over 20 years. They are well renowned for the Minnow shots! It is a must do novelty for vacationers, adults and children indulge in the tradition! As time goes on they have added on to the restaurant and store making it very desirable for all. They now have an outside seating area and bar with a tent like shade structure and you can enjoy dining there. Also is a nice little Ice Cream Shop with big waffle cones. The food is really good, one of the better restaurants on the lake. For appetizers try the Dick Tators and the Porkapenos! The Harley Burger is the bomb, topped with a slice of smoked ham, crispy bacon, Swiss cheese and BBQ sauce. The menu has alot of sandwiches to choose from and are all good. Our table had the Harley Burger, Patty Melt, Cheese burger, Blackened Chicken Breast and the BLT. Every sandwich was very good. I would have given 5 stars, but the docks are old and not in good shape at all! Excellent pizza on the water!!! I took my family out for dinner by boat over 20 miles to Big Dicks and it was worth every minute. I have a 4 year old and the service was fast enough to keep the whole family happy. Friendly staff. The water on that part of the lake was very calm. I have been here twice with a large group of 12 to 14 people. Staff ALWAYS accommodates with a smile. The place is always packed! Live music, great food, cold drinks.
