Absolutely great for what it is. It's not a gourmet fine dining establishment, it's an everyday kick back, and take it easy bar and restaurant. They have probably the best Fried Pork Tenderloin Sandwich in the area, and if you haven't had one, the tenderloin is about the size of the plate. The onion rings were too notch as well. It's not a craft cocktail bar, so don't get your hopes up in that regard, but the beer is cold and the whiskey is plentiful. read more

Seems like a great family-friendly place to eat dinner after a long day out on the lake. The drinks were good and relatively inexpensive. We went at 2pm on a Saturday and were the only people on the patio. I got teriyaki charred wings with sweet chili as a dipping sauce. The wings were very juicy and delicious. read more

Visited the Branding Iron and really enjoyed the food, drinks and rebuilt restaurant! We had spicy, beefy Bloody Mary's, fried chicken with all the fixings and ice cold beers. The prices were very reasonable and it was fun sitting at the bar with the awesome bartender who also waited on us for dinner! Decor is western and it's really fun and well done. Lots of parking - only drawback is it's a gravel parking lot. But really no big deal. You'll love the Branding Iron if you're in the Ozarks! read more

The service was awesome but the food didn't meet the quality of customer service We both got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Chicken fried steak was a cheap pre-made one and instant mashed potatoes, similar to what would be served in a school cafeteria. May go again to see if the other food is better just because the service was top notch. Within 20 second of us walking in 3 people told us the hostess would be right with us, our server was great as well, very attentive despite being extremely busy. Had the 12oz Ribeye ($30.95), ordered medium it came out almost well done and dry. Wife had the blackened Salmon ($26.95) it was overcooked and dry also. The sides green beans (canned) and onion rings (food service prep) were OK. Drinks were 2 Jamesons & 2 margaritas, OK, standard shots. Manager came after the waitress asked how it was and I told her, she just said "oh you should have told us" but the waitress hadn't che ked on us until she brought the check. I've had the fried chicken and brisket there previously and it was good - its what the other couple ordered off our recommendation. Moral of the story is only order what they're known for. read more

We are there on a crowded Saturday early evening. I opted for the smoked portion of their menu. Service was good. Food serving sizes were more than ample. Salad bar was pretty minimal -but still good. I was not terribly impressed with the food -but prob because I chose the smoked menu. If I ever go back I'll try something on their regular menu. read more

I usually don't leave reviews but...,We went to The Branding Iron after a round of golf and I can't say enough about the bartenders and servers. They are so pleasant and welcoming. The bar and dining areas were extremely clean and the food (Didn't have a lot) was really great. We will be back and eat and drink a lot more. read more

Locals favorite! Why? It's where ya find the real beef! And midday happy hour. Food is fantastic. Everything from burgers to bbq'd meat to Rueben has been yummy. Salad bar is a fave for me! "The Duke" burger is interesting. Mozzarella sticks add a unique twist. Hubby said it was a bit much but it e year old daughter loved it. Cheeseburger has that old fashioned, off the backyard grill, taste. Potatoe salad is like eating a baked potato. Yums! Have really liked everything we've eaten here. This place is truly one of the best restaurants at the lake. Their mashed potatoes are unbelievable and are tightly kept secret. However, come early as the excellence of The Branding Iron is not a secret! They offer every Midwest specialty, such as Horseshoes, pork tenderloins, etc. Plenty of parking and space inside for large groups of people. read more

Cute, rustic spot in Ozarks! We ate here while on vacation and enjoyed it. Salad bar is nice, nothing particularly special about it, but was good and food on it was fresh. Meal portions are pretty large so many of us took home leftovers. Our server was really friendly and had offered us some advice on local spots to check out while we were in town. The view from the front porch is amazing! Make sure you get some pictures!! read more

I ordered the fried chicken, and when it arrived, I was told they would be bringing me a breast it just wasn't ready yet. The chicken filled your mouth with oil when you bit into it. It was greasy and under seasoned. I never received the other piece of chicken, as I was leaving. I was told it was still cooking! Staff was busy but attentive. Broasted chicken is fantastic. Menu has a lot to offer. Service is good and the waitress' are friendly and accommodating.

Found this place after hiking Ha Ha Tonka. We rocked up on a busy Friday night and were greeted by a kind staff, not at all flustered or frustrated with the evening. A rarity in service these days, in my opinion. We were seated in way less time than quoted and found ourselves on the patio where could still see the water. We enjoyed the quiet deck, chatted with servers when they popped out from time to time. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Their foods are made well and a ton of stuff is made in house. Their bbq sauce, ranch, and coleslaw were amazing! Smoked meat plate was great. The charbuffed hot wings were awesome. Great food if you find yourself in the area. read more

We ordered 4 salads ((Blackened Chicken) and we waited 55 minutes once ordered. We had already been there over 20 minutes. The salads were maybe $4.99 salads with 5 bites of chicken. We talked with the owner and she treated us poorly and tried to prove us wrong. Our server Mandy worked hard to get salads from the cooks! Okay for a drink or burger. The chicken popular. Okay vibe. Problems are rampant. Mainly, menu not changed in decades. It is old and tired. The salad bar is beyond awful. I have eaten better cardboard than the cheese here. Lite italian dressing is good. But gee whiz. Change up the boring menu and put something decent on salad bar!!!!! read more

We waited over an hour for a salad. When it came, it was a bowl of bag iceberg lettuce and about 2oz of chicken. When we talked to the owner about the wait, she said she looked at the order ticket, it had "only been 55 mins". But we waited 15mins before that to get someone to take our order. On the Laurie side of the lake the Branding iron is a great place to grab a good meal with a friend or family. They have a wide menu from Pizza, Bar BQ to their famous fried chicken. The prices are reasonable and the service has always been good. Give it a try and if you have room for desert there are always about five kinds of home made pie. read more
