We gave 1 star for the convenience in 5A, because we had multiple tags in the area. My elk was a little smaller, but it was 4 times as big as my deer this year. I got a quarter of the amount of meat i got from my deer, and only 1 tenderloin... i called a couple times and they said i only had 1 box... and it cost 3 times as much as my deer.... dont fall for it, the convenience isn't worth it. We dont trophy hunt, we hunt to feed our family til the next hunting season. Good luck everyone. If Millers is that hard up for meat, just ask, we would have gladly donated some. read more

I dropped off 2 steers my and my son's. Mine a grain fed Wagu steer His a jersey cross off the pasture. I gave them the cut instructions for mine 1&3/4 inch steaks only good roasts short ribs etc. My son wanted 1 inch steaks and mostly hamburger. I told the girl taking our order 3 times mine was the big one with the blue ear tag His was a lot smaller w/ no tag We picked up today and they reversed the cut on them mine was cut with 1 inch steaks and was the pasture Jersey. The young man at the counter admitted the error and said there is nothing that can be done about it. I won't be going back!!!! I dropped off a javelina and got it back within 3 weeks which was amazing! 250 (approx 10") snack sticks from this javelina... not bad at all! A little pricey but overall I think it was worth it. Also, the snack stick flavor "jalapeño cheddar" is very very good! read more

There is not better customer service out there. This industry is full of crazy dishonest people, and Millers Southwestern is absolutely the most ethical kind Best shop out there. I have brought numerous livestock here over the years. They have always had great communication. They ask exactly how you would like it cut and packaged and they do exactly what you ask. They give you 100% of your meat back. There is accountability for everything. This is not one of those fly by night operations. The beef that you give them is the beef that you will get back. This shop is horrible especially around Fair season. We sent a steer to the plant during Fair. But this was NOT a fair steer. We sent ours with the rest of the pack and did NOT get our cow back. We got other peoples meat!!!! You could definitely tell by the steaks....this was not our cow. Plus they cut almost all the filet mignon off the T-Bone Steaks and Porterhouses. Then we got whole roasts instead of hamburger but they made that right. I am just totally upset with this company and will NOT ever get another steer done there! read more

Okay all my fellow yelpers!!!! I am from Texas, married an Okie and jumped the red river!! Now an Arizonan!! We always bought a pig in the fall and had it butchered and dressed out for us, ready for fresh pork in the spring!! When we moved here, I had a hard time finding this again.. BUT NOW, we have hit GOLD. Since we no longer have friends with a cattle farm, we need beef and pork!! Miller's is AWESOME !!! I called and spoke with Mike and he answered my questions. Then a few weeks pass by and I call to make an appt to come in and order, spoke with Chase, no appt needed. Finally drove out there, spent about 1 hour asking questions, reviewing everything, and got an order placed. So in about 4 weeks, fresh beef and pork at a fraction if grocery store pricing!!! I brought these guys a mule deer - neck to elbows. They did breakfast sausage, ground, ribs, steaks, roast, etc. Everything tastes good and is packaged well. I really liked that they had green chile as an option for jerky. The store front is your typical no frills, wall of fame pics, and some cool examples of their mounts. The staff was all very helpful and worked quickly. They hauled my cooler and pulled the carcass out on their own which was nice. My only gripe was the lack of hand washing between breaking down an animal and processing a credit card. Im talking bloody hands with flesh stuck to fingers while swiping a card. Moving on... The time taken to process was about 7 weeks. Easy to pick up and pricing seemed fair. I think it was about $200 something. I also had them do a Euro mount for me. It was more expensive than most other options I found but the convenience was my deciding factor. It turns out that they do a great job. Cost was $250. They packed it and shipped it for me as well. It took about 3.5 months to finish. They wood plaque is a very high quality. The skull is bright white and has a nice light gloss to it. The horns are sealed and also have a nice sheen. Included in the price was the option of a name plate which is a nice plus. Once the euro was done, they had some hiccup getting the mount to me once they learned I moved. Mark Miller reached out a week or so later after I called them back. After speaking with Mark, I had my mount the next week and was very happy with the whole experience. They processed a cow for us. Hanging weight 688 and I only received 380lbs including soup and dog bones. There are full cuts I'm missing. Spoke w Chase who asked for a list of what I'm missing. I told him 3 times on the phone how much I got of the cuts and he told me "something is fishy" insinuating I'm lying. You are correct, something is fishy and now that I'm reading other reviews, it seems they're skimming off other people's meat. That yield is beyond terrible. Take your meats elsewhere! read more

I took a large desert mule deer to millers for processing. I picked up a file box size of meat. I can not believe that with the amount of meat I dropped off, that after processing it all fit in a standard size file box! It just seems odd to me. Something similar happened a few years prior and we just let it be. We have been using a different processor and been totally satisfied needless to say we won't be returning to millers. It's like millers is a magic show... they make your meat disappear. read more

Got fewer pounds of elk back than I was expecting. I shot a young bull elk a few years ago in the early archery hunt, took it to the weigh station/refrigerated truck and got back less than 100 lbs of meat from this shop. When I asked why, the excuses were numerous: 1) small bull (they mislabeled it on the order as a spike, but it was branch antlered bull) 2) Must have been dirty with sticks, hair and pine needles so they couldn't save a lot of meat (I shot it and field dressed it on green grass - no dirt, no pine needles and very little hair if any left on it) 3) Both shoulders were shattered and had bloodshot meat so they couldn't be saved (if so, then they mixed up my bull with another one as the arrow entered right behind the front shoulder on the left side and out the rib cage on the other side.) I've been hunting over 30 years and I know how to care for meat in the field. I butchered a mule deer by myself this past Fall and it yielded about 80lbs of meat. That elk was way bigger than the mule deer. They're either not careful when tagging the orders, not careful when cutting and saving meat or not honest. Not really a good option in that bunch, in my opinion, and they'll never process another animal for me or anyone I know. read more

Called this place on a Thursday to see if they had a whole lamb for sale. The person I was talking to said yes, they have two in stock in the freezer, about 30 pounds each. I told the guy I was talking to that I needed it thawed and ready to go on that Saturday. He said no problem and done. I called back to confirm, and the guy said that it's done, he put my name on it and said it's sold and ready to pick up on Saturday. I drove for about an hour and a half that Saturday morning to get to them and the kid that was working there didn't know what I was talking about. The phone rang and he told me to hold. While he was on the phone, you can overhear him talking to someone about other things than business related and just wasting time. After he hung up, he said that he's going to check on the lamb in the refrigerator. He came back and said that there's nothing there. So he made a phone call to someone that works there during the week and asked them. Then he looked on a frozen one and put it on the scale. It turns out that the size was over 60 pounds. This place is a joke and will never do business with them in this lifetime, even if it was free. Stay away and go somewhere else. read more
