Submitted a project to have trees trimmed on my property. Several smaller trees had grown beyond my ability to trim, so I talked to three different companies about the scope of the work. Mills Tree Service was not the cheapest, although they were definitely willing to work with my budget. They were absolutely worth the small amount extra over the least expensive estimate. There were three trees that needed substantial pruning and were the reason for reaching out. Additionally, the two trees (ash and cherry blossom) in the front of the house needed careful trimming to remove dead branches and branches that had grown too close to the house. Mills Tree Service arrived promptly at noon and were done cleaning up before 2 pm. The property was left in excellent condition, and I noticed they even removed a few random sumacs growing in the back (unwanted)! I highly recommend Mills Tree Service for any general tree-related landscaping needs. If I need any more work done at the house, I'm not going to bother putting it out for quotes. This is the second time we have used Mills and the second time they have needed a crane to remove what was probably a 100 year old oak (this time leaning over part of the house). At the same time, they took down 16 overgrown 25 year old leylands, ground the stumps, and planted new 6' green giants to replace the leylands. They also trimmed other trees and shrubs and cleaned up. The oak took a day, the leylands a day and a half to remove, and one day to replant and trim around the yard. Mills came highly recommended a decade ago when they removed the first old oak and they remain our choice for any arbor or landscape needs. Burgess is prompt, the quote is accurate, the entire crew are wonderful to deal with and pleasant. If you get estimates, make certain to call Mills. I hired Mills to (sadly) cut down 4 large trees on my property. A Maple and 3 Chestnuts. The 3 Chestnuts were in an area where a great deal of expensive landscaping has been planted. They did a fantastic job on all 4 trees and were very mindful of not destroying the expensive plantings that surrounded the trees in the process. They thoroughly cleaned the entire areas of branches and debris, left me some firewood (at my request) and worked extremely quickly. (I think they had 6 or 7 men on my project). Their price was very reasonable. Burgess responded to all of the questions I had quickly (via text) and even rearranged his schedule to accommodate a last minute change. I have used this tree service for several years now to deal with the large oak trees in our yard. They have done an excellent job with an extremely fair price, as we have always gotten other quotes for comparison. I'm always concerned about keeping our large oaks healthy and worry about a tree company taking too much off the tree. The Job they did for me was a little different from probably what they normally are used to since it involves cleaning up the mess another unprofessional company left behind. I cant say how impressed I am with their service since the communication i had with them was totally remote. We called on Mills after a limb had fallen off of our 50-60 ft pine tree. The tree had to come down after a large crater was left when the branch had broken off. The tree was situated very close proximity to our neighbors house which meant we needed a company with experience and confidence. We received three quotes and after meeting with Mills we knew they were it. They were respectful and courteous. On the day they were supposed to come out they gave us a 20 minute time frame when they would be at our home. We thought this would be an all day job and it literally took them ONE hour to get it done. They did an amazing job! Same day when they did work in the yard of my neighbor, they trimmed my trees at the end of their long day. I called them that same day and told them that they had done a fantastic job but they had forgotten to cut a couple of overhanging limbs from another neighbor's tree which was potentially damaging my Cryptomeria. What impressed me most was that they called me back that SAME evening and promised to fix it straight away. After the weekend they did! I have used Burgess and his team twice - both big tree jobs. I give them A++. The estimate the job accurately, they know what they are doing and except for how great everything looks, you would't know that they had been there. I would refer them to anyone with complete confidence and have. A funny story. When they were cutting down some huge trees in my yard, they disturbed a squirrels' nest. The nest fell with the babies in it. The guys stopped, went down to look for the babies, found them, put them back in the nest and put them near the tree they fell from. By evening, the mother squirrel had moved all the babies to a new nest. You gotta love that show of kindness from these guys. read more

Recently hired Mills Tree Service to trim some of the trees in my yard, and to cut down a big tree overhanging a main road in my community. They did a great job of trimming the trees back and hauling the tree away. When they came over to give me an estimate on the job, I forgot to ask them to take care of a branch that was over hanging my neighbors house. When they arrived to trim my trees, I asked them to also take care of that branch, and they were more than willing to take care of it. Great work. Quick, clean and efficient. Plus, since I had two quotes from two tree services that were the exact same price, Burgess cut a bit off his pricing to secure the job. I had a River Birch removed that has been slowly dying. The crew laid down plywood to protect the lawn and had the tree down and shredded in a couple of hours. I am not disappointed in the work, and I am a bit of a fussy person whenever I expect quality work and don't get it. If I had any quibble, and I really don't, it would be that the stump is not exactly flat, but it was huge. And, the area was not accessible to a stump grinder read more

I got a flyer from Mills for my property. It had a lot of trees in my backyard including some that were drooping all the way on the deck. There was also a large pine tree that was very close to the roof. Mills did a terrific job of providing a reasonable estimate and then coming over promptly and setting up their job in a careful step by step fashion. They took away all the dead/rotten trees and did a great job of cleaning the entire place. In the evening, minus the trees, we could not even recognize the place. I couldn't be more satisfied with the work done to remove 2 large linden trees from the front yard. Their quote was reasonable, the schedule very accommodating, and communication was excellent. To my surprise and delight, they finished the job in one day including grinding the stumps and all clean up. I needed a 100+ foot tall tree removed from my backyard and these guys came and cut the whole thing down in just two hours and some change. Watching them work was really impressive. True masters of their craft! Price was a little steep but they are insured, fit me into their schedule quickly, communicated well, and thoroughly cleaned up the job site. They did an excellent job trimming the tree and at a great price! Very professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and they finished the job quickly. They disposed of the debris and used an air blower to clean the driveway. I can't say enough good thing about the crew from Mills. We had several large trees between our house and power lines. Access was very limited and the trees were all 120'+. The crew from Mills took them all down safely and quickly. All debris were removed from the site and everything was left better than when they arrived.
