I went to the register and the clerk was young - not sure where to look for the order and I was kind and patient an said ok - he said the deli lady would be back in just a moment to assist. I waited by the counter and saw no one there as 2 other people showed up to make an order themselves. A few moments later a woman arrives and immediately curtly says "I have it but you could have asked them (the counter staff) for it" ... her tone and attitude was not like oh hey did you know next time you can ask them ? It was like DID YOU GET THE MEMO SIS?! I responded politely that I had indeed seen the clerk first and she repeated what I just said and I don't know why but I apologized... ? I don't blame the counter staff - they were young, likely new and trying not to mess up. She was downright Rudy Huxtable RUDE. they don't need my business by any means but I really love to contribute to the vendor in my own town versus schlepping uptown here or there for a decent sandwich- but I'm not going to be rushing back here for a repeat of that experience. It's tough as things are classified generally as "Reds" or "Whites" al to find a specific red took some time. My main gripe is that the cashier told me they wouldn't take an AMEX. There's an AMEX sign on the front door, which I mentioned to the clerk, and he told me "over $50 only". I'm not a snob, I'm not obsessed with using an AMEX. I use it where I can because it's the only card that lets me pay off my balance before the charges move from pending to cleared. Just feel like this place doesn't like taking the merchant charge on lesser purchases and use their judgment on a case by case basis which is disappointing when you advertise something but don't advertise the stipulations.

This has to be a local favorite as many of the other friendly people inside were sporting their merchandise. I loved their lager and IPA, they offer Togo packs of beer and small snacks in the taproom! This is definitely a place to stop for beer lovers in the Cape.
