I just had breakfast at the Milltown Diner. Personally I wouldn't call it a diner. It's a nice very hometown cafe. Although I'm not a Red Sox fan I was happy to see Sox and Giants paraphernalia adorning the place not the Yankees. We arrived a little late for breakfast and early for lunch so they weren't busy. My wife and I sat at the counter so we could watch a little of CNN on the TV. I ordered scrambled soft with bacon, home fries and rye toast. My wife ordered a spinach, mushroom and onion omelette. The size of the portions were crazy. I didn't count but had at least 7 pieces of bacon,3 eggs and a huge portion of potatoes. I didn't finish the plate. Everything came out of the kitchen cooked perfect. The cook obviously cares! This place isn't fancy but it's clean and has a great breakfast. The breakfast menu is extensive. They are only open Friday till 7 for a variety of fish dinners, breakfast and lunch the other days. This is my kind of place all the way. I have to try it for lunch and fish read more

Wow! What a great find. It's an old fashion diner. Nothing fancy but boy, oh boy the food was fantastic. I usually do not eat home fries because I'm fussy about home fries but I couldn't stop eating these! My omelette of mushrooms, spinach and onion was delicious! When the plate was placed before me, I couldn't believe the abundance of food. Staff was very friendly. Clean bathroom. My first visit here and it certainly won't be the last. It's a quaint diner with exceptional service. We were seated and served delicious meals in under 10 minutes with a full house. The staff is attentive, kind and efficient. You can tell they have rapport with their customers and are embedded beautifully with their community. They have great food. It's a must try for out-of-towners. It's a nice little place that is always packed when it's open. They recently limited their hours and now close around 2pm though. Go early and get some good food for a good price. Waffles and pork roll is my go-to meal there. It is soooo good. They make the best waffles around. They are so big, light, and fluffy that I can't even eat the whole thing and I have to take some to go. The breakfast wrap is so stuffed that it is hard to eat. It is packed with flavor. There are eggs, your choice of meat, and a bunch more in there that it falls right out of the wrap. They know how to make great wraps. The French Dip with fries and a pickle is good too, if you were looking for a more lunch/dinner type meal. The service is great here too. The employees get to know you, and they are really nice. I highly recommend this small diner in the heart of Milltown for anyone. Skip Dunkin' across the street and especially skip Heavenly across the bridge. A lot of food for the money, but nothing to write home about. Better than the East Brunswick diner set, but that's not saying much. Quaint little place where the servings are generous (4 egg omelets) and the sides are as tasty as the main entree. Tried this place based on the good reviews. The people working here were very nice, but the food was sub par. The pancakes were extremely gummy as the batter was overmixed. The sausages were overcooked. They give you aunt jamaima syrup in a squeeze bottle with a maple leaf sticker on it. The place is cramped and they had a picnic table as a permanent fixture. Definitely a luncheonette, not a diner. We went for breakfast and everything was very good. The egg were made exactly the way we asked and the food came out fast. All in all a cute little place. The only negative and its a big one: when we walked in we were hit with the smell of a backed-up or not maintained grease trap. We were starving so we decided to deal. To "Sammad" I've been going to the Milltown Town Diner for A little over 10 years now and my Family and I have never had a problem! The food is amazing everything we have ordered was delicious and the portions are huge which is great to bring home! The service was Great and it's Nice to go into a small town diner where it's so Friendly and Personable. Where you can joke around and have the cook and waitress come out of the kitchen to Greet you and have conversation and still receive your food hot and in a timely matter! I've been here twice before with no problems but recently I found a maggot in my food once I opened the box i brought the food back and was given a refund but I am very disappointed with this diner ! The women who issued the refund as well as the cook said that they weren't sure how the maggot may have gotten in the box ! Take what you want from this and be careful ! read more

Ehhh, this is a run of the mill dinner in a small town. When I pulled up I was surprised the place was so small. From the outside it looks like it's a bookstore or something. Once inside there are approx. 4 booths and maybe 5 tables. The staff consisted of a cook, barkeep and one waitress. The limited staff isn't really an issue unless one of them decides to chat it up with other customers and ignore you. I'm a breakfast person, so I was excited to try this place. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. I'm not saying the food was terrible, but it wasn't worth writing a review about. One pro is that they give you a loyalty card and after your 7th meal you'll get $7 off. I'm never going to be able to reap the benefits of the 2 cards I have because I most likely won't be back (but if you need a card let me know and you'll be one step closer to $7 off)! read more

Best diner around. The problem with area diners is either they try too hard to be upscale (Edison & Skylark) and are thus too expensive, or they are really bad quality (Menlo Park). Milltown diner is what a neighborhood diner should be. Solid menu, not too big, good prices, quality food for the money. I get breakfast every time I go because.....it's breakfast food. Came here for outdoor dining the other day. I ordered the veggie omelette and added cheddar cheese. When I got the omelette and began eating it I realized there wasn't any cheese. I cut a hole in the middle to make sure before asking the server to correct the error. At this point I had also ate about 1/3 of my home fries. The server was nice and brought out the correct order however instead of making me a new omelette how I ordered it, they just dissected the old one, put cheese on it and heated it back up on the griddle. Same with the home fries. I find this extremely unsanitary (especially during a pandemic) and will not be ordering from here again. The perfect diner for a small town! The French toast and porkroll is my go-to breakfast. The burgers and wraps are a great price for the portion size. Good fries, coleslaw, and pickles. There's not a huge menu like some other diners with 7 pages in a spiral bound notebook but it still leaves you with tough decisions. Parking is street parking but there are multiple parking logs across the street with a crosswalk that has flashing lights for pedestrian safety. I am here every Friday with my 96 year old grandma. They are so family oriented and they have not only have my grandmas meatloaf dinner for the evening ready , but they pack a to go for her lunch the next day!!( which BTW is same size as her dinner!! ). They do this every week... then my grandma and I share a nice big bowl of icecream.... which I don't think that we ever paid for!!! The waitress is awesome.. the few times that I could not make it to dinner with grandma, she DELIVERED her dinner to her house.. anyone that would write a bad review obviously, has not been there enough to form a nasty opinion... This diner is the best around. Small place with a personal feel and great food. I haven't had anything here that I didn't like. The bacon omelet is my favorite. It's loaded with bacon and the home fries that come with it are the best I've had anywhere. Also the prices are below the norm for the area which is a bonus! This place isn't bad for a quick breakfast or lunch. There was definitely a weird smell as soon as we walked in, but it was't unbearable. My friend and I got seated right away followed by immediate drink orders while we looked over the menu. It was a Sunday morning around 11, so we opted for lunch instead of bfast. We both set on french dip sandwiches, but when we went to put the order in the waitress informed us they were all sold out of roast beef. Major bummer, but she told us she'd give us a few more minutes so I decided on the country chicken panini and my friend got a patty melt. Both stated they came with FF, cole slaw, pickle, and a cup of soup. When we asked what soup came with it, the waitress stated they don't serve soup on the weekends. So I asked if they substitute something else for it then, like a house salad, and she said no because its like a complimentary thing usually and they don't have to give it to you the owner just has it on there and they have to change it on the menu. It was the weirdest response and her tone was kind of rude as if I was asking her to give us extra food for free, instead of trying to figure out what they're advertising on the menu to come with the meal. They do give you a lot of food, however the "chipotle mayo" that was on my sandwich was just franks red hot and mayo mixed together, not chipotle at all, which was disappointing because that was the real seller for me on ordering it. The coleslaw was more creamy and sweet than I prefer, but it was a nice crunch mixed with my sandwich. I have to say, the fries definitely were perfectly crispy and salted. They seemed like they were double fried to get them to that perfect crispness. My friend did enjoy his sandwich, however we had to ask the waitress to refill our drinks a couple times even though we were only one of 3 tables taken in the place. I'd like to say we might've walked out of there with a better experience if we went during the week when they actually serve soup and have the roast beef available, but I'm not sure that will change the service. read more

I'm OK with that, I guess, but my wife was not. So I say "I'll order food and run across the street and grab a cup from Dunkin Donuts". The owner replied "we don't allow that". The food here is oh so good! The club sandwich was huge with the best turkey I've ever had on a sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. The roast beef was tender and the gravy was delicious. The chicken noodle soup was served at the perfect temperature and the large cup was filled with tender chicken, lots of noodles and veggies-highly recommend getting the soup! Nice variety of burgers, sandwiches, kids menu and dinner specials. Staff was very friendly and everything was clean. Not a big place but could handle a group and has counter service. Lucky for the Milltown residents, they also deliver. Family members go here for breakfast and they highly recommend it.
