This is literally the best place to get my nails painted! I don't do fake nails, so I can't speak to that, but this is the only salon I trust with my mani and pedi. The staff are sooo nice and if you go in more than once, they get to know you and are the best! They don't overcut the cuticles, and my gel last for 2 weeks. I can't wait for my wedding next year to bring my whole wedding party in. Seriously that mom and pop vibe that I feel is lacking at so many places. I went to get my nails done on Saturday night before NYE. This was my first time at this salon and the lady was about to leave when I walked it. I asked her if she was closing, but she said no. It was about 5pm and they were open until 7pm. There was another lady getting her nails done as well. I asked for a shellac and after she was done my nails looked like they were already a week old because she left a lot of space. When I told her that it doesn't look nice, she said it is "supposed to be like that". I didn't not want to argue but I would not recommend this place at all. They don't sterilize their tools and it is not very clean. The polish came off just 3 days later and I haven't really done much since Saturday. I'm sorry to say this place was not good. My friend referred me to MIlltown while I was in Edmonds for the weekend. The staff was really nice but the manicurist's skill was terrible. I asked her to trim my fingernails then I closed my eyes to take a quick catnap. I woke up with all of my nails so short you could see the tips of my fingers. I was in & out within 45 minutes (this included soak time and she did my toes & finger separately). She barely spent any time pumicing my heels or pushing back my cuticles. Plus the paint job was messy. The worse part, she "crowned" my bottle of OPI that I brought into the salon. So I had to rush home & clean the top of the bottle before it set. I ended up re-painting my nails the next day. Total damage: $10 manicure $22 pedicure Total experience: Unsatisfied Save your money & do your nails yourself before going to Milltown. read more

I really appreciate this nail shop. The ladies are always friendly when I pop in and when I have an appt. They accept my 4 yo sitting on the couch while I get a quick set - this is why the 5 stars. I really, really wanted to give this place a good review because the ladies were incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, their friendliness was about the only highlight to my visit. The place itself is nothing fancy, and it definitely doesn't seem like the cleanest salon... Lots of clutter all around. Their color selection is kind of weak. They don't have actual pedicure chairs/tubs. Instead, you sit in a cushy leather chair and they bring a tub to you. KIXI AM radio plays the entire time - that alone will make you want to run out screaming. I asked for a Shellac manicure and it felt extremely rushed. She barely filed and buffed my nails. At the end, the color looked like it needed another coat and there definitely wasn't the shine that you expect from Shellac. Worst part: 3 days in and four of my nails have already chipped. For a $30 Shellac, I expect it to last MUCH longer. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe my lady was busy (it was a Monday at 1:00). I am just super-disappointed. read more

I treated my sister to her nails a few weeks ago and despite the reviews listed here it wasn't half bad. Staff was friendly enough, but beware that you need to ask for prices because they won't give them to you before your treatment. I didn't ask for prices so I got the highest prices available = it was $92.00 for 2 of us (we got our feet waxed and in slippers and a design on our toes in addition to manicure and pedicure). So this is one of those places where they don't turn away walk-ins which generally means to be prepared to wait or have them rush on you. I'm waiting around right now and the staff seems very nice but the place is pretty dirty. They let clients walk on bare wet feet. The regulars don't seem to mind though as they chat about listening to Lawrence Welk kinda music. The pedicure area is pretty gross and cluttered with old magazines none of which contain an US weekly. The chairs are big puffy chairs are noticeably dirty and stained. Went for the first time the other day for a manicure and pedicure. Staff was nice but the salon was a little outdated and seemed dirty (there were nail polish stains on all the furniture and chairs). The equipment isn't as nice as some of the other nail salons I have been to, and when I got my nails done half of my nails weren't painted completely. Once she was done painting my nails she left me to dry, and a few newcomers walked in the door. I was left sitting there for 15-20 minutes drying without anyone coming over to check on me or anything. Personally I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Old decor; living room leather chairs for their dr scholl pedi buckets. I haven't encountered a salon this much back in time, ever. I came in for a pink/white acrylic fill. I came out with uneven, thick nail job - it was awful. They don't use a cutter for the white - it was hand-done, and I can appreciate the effort, the effect isn't the same as with a cutter. In addition, my clearly square nails that I came in with were shaved down to some sort of oval. I keep them VERY short, so any shape done at time of fill I'm stuck with until they grow out & I can file down properly. I've had acrylics for 15+ years on & off - I realize that pink & whites are more labor intensive and require more precision, but if you can't do them, don't. Nice ladies in there though. read more

I decided to get a manicure while killing some time in Edmonds and walked into this place. I'm glad I did! It's pleasantly decorated with classical music playing in the background. I had to wait 15 minutes since there were clients ahead of me, but the couch was comfortable and there was an ample selection of magazines. The woman who did the manicure had a soft touch and was pleasant to talk to. She was also incredibly meticulous. She took her time and made my nails look incredible! I had been working on my car so my nails were blackened and greasy and my cuticles were all sorts of f@(ked up, but after this woman's handiwork I could be a hand model. Best of all it was only $10! If you're a guy who wants a simple manicure I don't think you can do much better than this place. read more

The ladies were really nice but the paint job was terrible. Nail polish was thick and streaky. The papertowel touched my toe while the polish was wet and they did not touch it up. As others have mentioned, the staff seemed friendly and while I appreciated that, I was very disappointed in the lack of cleanliness and the less than decent pedicure I received. The seating was awkward, the pedicure felt rushed and very unprofessional, and the atmosphere felt dirty. I have had much more skilled and thorough pedicures for less money. The tub that my feet soaked in was portable and flimsy and I had to make a strong effort to keep my legs stiff and still so that I didn't knock anything over. It was so strange and uncomfortable. I fell asleep here in the comfy chairs and the lovely women let me sleep for two hours. This is a favorite spot to get our nails done not only because it is local, but also because the women who work here are lovely. My daughters and I can call the same day and often they will fit us in if we are heading out for an event. They have a great selection of colors for nails and the manicures and pedicures actually last. read more

I am saddened by my experience as a first and last time customer today. Apon arrival, preparing for a special occasion as well has having a special day, I, with my mom and child hood friend came in for a relaxing, fun filled experience. we were told "yes, we can take you, come in, sit here" and as the time started to pass we quickly realized the staff had bit off more then they could chew, inferable by the 3 staff members bouncing from customer to customer. My experience ended in having my half polished nails, now being unpolished by my request for a solid color as the French manicure seemed hard to obtain but was then told, "im sorry, my appointment is here, I don't have the time", as I was left with blobs of lotion still sitting on top of my skin, sitting in my chair. My friend received polish but the lines were everywhere and she still had her cuticles, I said to her nail gal "wow, you guys are really busy today", to wit she responded "its because you guys came in, all of the neighbors made appointments, where are you from?". My mom was getting her nails done by one of the owners whom was extremely helpful and just as upset by our experience as we were. I wish they had told us they were to booked and had offered to make appointments to come back. I cant imagine that the other customers that were in there today didn't feel like we did. service was scares as the 3 employees where being pulled every which way trying to help every single person and only doing the job half way. We recently moved to Edmonds and I have been looking for my new nail salon. Milltown won't be on the list. When I arrived I was immediately shown to an overstuffed chair for my pedicure. Not your typical spa chair but an overstuffed living room chair and my feet were placed in a shallow bucket. Not a pedicure foot bath with jets and fresh water. It was actually a plastic shallow bucket. The woman who did my manicure was very nice but there were no niceties like the calf/foot rub. It has been my experience after the pedicure some spa's will place warm towels on your feet, wrap them in plastic and place warming booties on your feet. This can be a great experience; however, Milltown didn't put the warm towels on my feet. They just put on the plastic bags and warming booties. With seconds I had to push the booties off due to excessive heat on my feet. Not a good experiences and I won't be going back. read more
