I'd like to do four stars but I can't. The beer was great and the service was fine. The problem comes at the food level. Very over priced for what's going on the plate, it would seem they want to lay out a high scale menu but I'm here to tell you the two plates that came out were very disappointing and at a high cost. Banh mi was good, burger was overcooked. Buffalo cauliflower and curds were good but our server was super rude. She had us yelling out our drink orders as she stood at one end of a 12 person table, yelling anyone else?....anybody else. Very strange. Aside from that, the place looks great and has great space. Arrived at 6:30 on a Wednesday night with a party of five. Restaurant was more than half empty was told we would have to wait for 15 minutes and they would need to talk to the manager??? After a 15 minute wait in the lobby, watching the hostesses playing cards at the hostess station we left. We are local and we will not be back. My fiancé and I have been here several times. We even got engaged here and they gave us complimentary champagne. Great restaurant for celiacs like my fiancé. Their pizza is only gluten free so there is no chance of cross contamination. It is delicious and well priced for a gluten free pizza. This was the second time we stopped here while traveling, and it will be the last. The beer was great, and the food was okay, but nothing extraordinary. The service was downright poor, as if none of the employees really cared about their job. Despite three open tables outside and a half empty dining room, we were told that we would have to wait 35 minutes. When we finally got to our table about 30 minutes later, the waitress came fairly quickly, and we got our beers in about another 10 minutes, but the food wait seemed as if perhaps she had forgotten to turn in the order. She brought my salad, but not my husband's burger, and stopped briefly later to say she was sorry the burger was taking so long. His burger arrived at least 20 minutes after my salad. She never came back to check on us, and we ended up being there at least an hour and a half. read more

You would never guess that Milner's Gate opened just a short time ago. The food was fantastic and the service was great. In fact, as a parent the service was the best I have ever received. The server was mindful of our toddler and brought out crackers when she saw our wee one was getting cranky. I love this place!!!!!!! From the moment I walked in I was greeted by Sweet host and hostesses. I ordered takeout and I cannot believe how easy it was to get. Wow so impressed! I had the ceviche and the ahituna and unbelievable!!!!!! Very large servings on both and so fresh and phenomenal flavors. Was a little nervous walking in because there weren't many other customers at 7pm, but it WAS a Monday night. Really upscale feel to the restaurant though and the menu was great, so we stuck with our gut and decided to eat at Milners Gate. Our waitress, Amanda, was super friendly and personable. She was very attentive, but not overbearing. She added special little touches, like she heard me ask if the girlfriend wanted some of my salad, so Amanda brought an extra plate in case she wanted to share. The food was amazing. I've had a rash of bad steaks recently at restaurants, so I was hesitant to get one. But it was a special occasion, so I got a ribeye. Perfectly medium rare, and the seasoning was great. The beef itself was great. The mashed potatoes were probably the best I've ever had. The girlfriend's Cajun shellfish pasta was so delicious too. Scallops are so hard to cook right, and they were perfect. Be sure to get over to Milners Gate! It was worth every penny read more

My boyfriend's Brie and Fig burger was AMAZING, my steak was good once is came out correctly and they were very very quick to correct the first overdone one. Had the ribs and they were Luke warm and very fatty with no flavor. Had the prime rib and it was very dry and hard to chew. From the minute we walked in, to the minute we left (2 hours later). Our server Allyson was amazing! Very friendly, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and super attentive!
