First time here at Koto, in town on business, wanted a nice lunch, not some chain restaurant stuff, recommend by a stranger. Nice rustic simple inside, brewery too, had a decent selection, so, nice atmosphere, I can see it would be very busy on the weekends. Menu isn't extensive, but doesn't need to be, pub food, but some very interesting selections. My colleague and I started with the Curry fries, that we're excellent, very flavorful and the right amount of spice. I had a simple burger with chips, however, it was prepared very well, great presentation and quality, it was very good, really enjoyed it. My colleague had a Teriyaki Bowl, but again, very great presentation, a nice effort put into it, some great ingredients and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server was Morea, she was very pleasant, sincere, and professional, very genuine and made the experience even better. Passed through Twin Falls again and decided to give Koto Brewing another chance. I'm sorry to say that it was every bit as disappointing this time as it was the last time. Once again, the service was abominably slow. Friendly, but so slow as to be off-putting. The food was good, though our fries were stone cold and tough. We wanted to send them back but it took so long to get them the first time that we just gave up and didn't eat them. I honestly can't understand how this place is so popular with the locals. I guess the slow service would be forgivable if the beer were good, but honestly it is absolutely the worst beer I've ever had at a craft brewery. We tried three varieties, and all were insipid and over-hopped. We tried the cider (from another brewer) and left it unfinished on the table. We will not be going back. read more

We came to see Shoshone Falls and looking for a lunch spot. Stopped into Koto and was charmed by the industrial look and video game machines. We were warmly greeted by Andrea. She sat us and pointed the incredible $9.99 lunch specials I went with the cheeseburger and fries while my husband ordered the pulled pork grilled cheese and fries. The portions were gigantic and both the sandwiches and fries were delicious!! Ask for the fry sauce which is slight spicy but oh so good. Andrea shared all their sauces are made in house. I was excited to try this bougie downtown Brewhouse. The design and atmosphere were very cool with the brick and exposed beams. The staff were friendly and polite. The artwork is really creepy and I would choose something else that makes you want to hang out and eat. Service was really slow on a Monday night. My husband's bacon cheeseburger was delicious, and it came with an epic amount of delicious fries. I wished I had gotten a burger as my Asian shrimp salad disappointed me, for sure. The long blonde hair in the bowl was pretty gross. The menu said it came with cannage but I could hardly find any cabbage or the peanuts promised on the menu. It was mostly bitter greens piled high. The shrimp was cooked to perfection yet the vinaigrette had no flavor. I expected a better tangy and flavorful dressing with more Asian or citrus notes. The noodles were bland especially after they absorbed all the vinaigrette. The wontons needed more of a showcase. They were crispy and what you would expect in an Asian salad. All I can say is Wowzers! Great Beer & the food was hella Delicious, compliments to the chef and whoever came up with the menu. Usually brewery food can be a hit or miss but this one hit it in the NAIL! As you walk in they will seat you according to how many are in your party. The space is Huge and there is a lot of places to sit plus the bar area. They brought us water and took our order after a few minutes of being there. We ordered the Mediterranean Salad which is HUGE and you can share with a few people and the dressing is very flavorful and it's well served. I also got their Spicy Shrimp tacos they were good (maybe less lettuce and pico de gallo) also disclaimer they add these red pepper looking slices and they are spicy I can take some spice but this made my mouth and tongue burn.. so you have been warned.. but they were delicious. Their Southwest bowl was also very delicious. The flavors just work and it's well served and big portions as well. We took the left overs home cause it was a lot of food. Their beer selection is great! Love the taster glasses and it's the perfect pour. We had their sampler/flight and loved how they bring it out in the little wooden holder. Great service, very attentive and loved the vibes of the place. They do have live music just have to check when they go on and schedule. They have a cool arcade looking space as well. Stopped at Koto Brewing Company while road tripping through Idaho, and it ended up being one of our favorite stops. The service was phenomenal--Josie, our waitress, truly went above and beyond. Not only was she attentive and friendly, but she also shared some really interesting history about the building and the restaurant, which made the experience even better. The place is family-friendly and dog-friendly, which we really appreciated. They even brought out a water bowl for our dog without us asking--such a thoughtful touch. The food was excellent across the board. The garlic fries were hands down the best we've ever had. The ahi bowl was fresh and flavorful, and the pulled pork grilled cheese was absolutely amazing--comfort food done right. If you're passing through Twin Falls, this spot is 100% worth the stop. A must stop restaurant for us in Twin Falls - anytime we pass through. Have eaten here three times over the past 3 years. After a great meal and beer the first time we happened upon the place we made sure we could stop in again and eat on a trip this past month. The tacos may be their own concept but they are large and taste heavenly. We liked them so much we stopped in again on our way back home and it was just as good. When traveling, sometimes the roulette of last-minute internet searches leads to dud destinations and other times destinations that remind you that people are great. Our visit to Koto Brewing Company in the Old Town area of Twin Falls was squarely in the latter category. We pulled into Twin Falls last evening, a quick stop on our 18-day cross-country road trip, and (as we always do) did a quick search for nearby breweries that serve food. Of the handful of search results, Koto looked best so we rolled the dice and headed over. We landed in what is the historic Old Town area of Twin Falls that throws off an immediate (good) vibe driving in, even in the dark. Walking in on a Thursday night, we were floored by how large and full the space was, immediately realizing that there was a rousing (and clearly very popular) game of Bingo taking place. Even with the very busy environment, we were met by the friendly face of Josie, our server, who gave us the full rundown of the beer and food menu and, when bingo wrapped up and she had the bandwidth, a thorough orientation of the establishment, clearly picking up on our curiosity. Beer and food: First context: We're from Chicago and travel a ton. We visit the biggest dives and had the privilege of being in some of the finest dining establishments. The BF™ is an IPA guy and has visited hundreds of breweries and described Koto as standout. He did a flight of five of their house IPAs which he described all as well-balanced and perfectly hopped. If he weren't suffering from a cracked rib and exhaustion from being on the road for 7 hours prior, he would have tried the full menu of their house beers. Josie recommended the Bauman's Loganberry cider for me which was so delicious (with a cool bottle to boot), we left with six more. On beer/beverages alone, we'd be regulars if we lived in town. For food, I had the spicy shrimp tacos which were seasoned and grilled to perfection. The addition of the pickled Fresnos with the chipotle ranch put them over the top in deliciousness. Though admittedly lame, the BF™ was jonesing for wings so ordered up some with their house chipotle BBQ sauce. Both the wings and the presentation were ... extraordinary. (If you've been in enough bars and ordered enough wings, you'll know there's a lot of room for breaking the mold.) So, beer and dining both get high marks from us! Environment/establishment: This place has a SOUL. And it's intentional. The owners have intentionally preserved and celebrated the past of the building and simultaneously given it purpose and life to ensure it's around for future generations to learn about and appreciate. Koto is actually the surname of the original building owners, Japanese immigrants who, in 1920, built the iconic building that included hotel rooms on the second floor. There's a rich history that the current owners and staff not only pay homage to with photos and their story on the walls but also are obviously indebted to, so eagerly share their origins and history with new visitors. Layer on an obvious love and appreciation for local history, as evidenced by their salvaging and re-use of local materials for the interior decor, and you have one special place in Koto. Make sure t look up to admire the arresting art by resident artists (ask your servers) and support their artistry by inquiring, making a purchase, or sharing on your social media. I was obsessed by the featured work of artist Robert Ransom and hope to get my hands on something to feature in our home. All in all, this is an extraordinary place we highly recommend. We loved it so much we left with six ciders, a t-shirt, two of their locally made bottled sauces, and a beer glass. Tacky Tacky Tacky.....lol Went to Kotos on May 2, 2025. I don't drink, so came in to listen to music like I have many times. The crowd was minimal as usual. Left when the band was finished. Came back the next night and the same band was playing. Came in sat down and listen to 5 songs. Then a young man who seating people on both nights comes up to me and says there is a $10 cover charge. He seen me when I came in and said nothing about a cover charge and went about his business. Kotos was not crowded and had plenty of seating. Obviously they did not want me in their establishment because I wasn't buying their rancid food and alcohol, so they had the kid spring a cover charge of $10 on me after I had already been there for a half hour. I was here on a Monday evening. I had a flight of beers that comes with 5 4oz pours and my favorite was their pale ale. Nice and lite with great flavor. My server recommended the pulled pork nachos. I ordered the half size by myself and only got through half the chips. The cheese sauce makes them very rich and left me wanting more acidity to balance them out and maybe some lettuce. I feel like I'm the winter they are probably perfect. Took me a while to close my tab and it wasn't very busy. There is a big garage door they open to bring the outside in and I think this would be an awesome spot to grab an afternoon beer with friends. I ordered the cauliflower bites and the Smoked Coconut Tofu Sando, and my partner had the Chipotle boneless wings and their Fluffhead vanilla cream ale. All in all we were both really pleased. The tofu in my sandwich was a little crunchy but the flavor was good overall, and they gave you insane portions of fries. He thought the beer was good but wished it was a little heavier on the vanilla and less so on the fruit, but he liked it enough to have two. :-) Service was great and the building is super cool.
