I stopped in recently with my gf while visiting a friend in the area and we enjoyed their amazing world peace wrap and a delicious locally sourced IPA and sour, and just like each time before, top notch! TBH, she still talks about that wrap which I have had myself personally at least 20-30 times over the years, as it's my go to. This is one of those gems that every small town wishes to have and while most businesses in Thomas come and go this one in particular has stood its ground and continues to be an amazing destination for all walks of life to enjoy. They expect to offer Friday hours soon too. But great selection, great prices and a nice hang out if you have time to sit and relax.

The pepperoni rolls here are a bit different. They are soft and light and fluffy. Most of the ones I find are made from a thicker bread that's heavy and dense. I find the pepperoni and cheese ratio in these to be perfect. Not too much of any one ingredient. I tried the special of the week which was Crab Rangoon and I wish I didn't--not that it was bad, it just wasn't a real pepperoni roll. Then of course I got a regular one and a jalapeño one. My son got one regular and as we at them in the car he asked if he could have another so I gave him my card and back he went. They were about $4.50 each. Later when we came back through town after going to Blackwater and Douglas Falls, he asked for yet another and of course I obliged. I took mine to Blackwater Falls and ate it there. Nothing like enjoying West Virginia's most iconic waterfall while eating its most iconic food (sorry WV Slaw dogs). The liquor store here is convenient. Prices were only slightly marked up except on one bottle. The distillery and other stores have it for $65-69 and they had it for $110. I would have purchased it for the real retail price. They had a great selection of WV bourbons which was very nice. We will definitely be stopping here now each time we pass through, especially since Hellbenders closed.

My family of origin did not do biscuits and gravy, chicken wings, pizza, pepperoni rolls,.... We delight in the Mountain Pepperoni Roll Trail.... The young lady who was working Thursday night (11/10/16), "Angel", was as sweet as can be. She welcomed us with a smile and gave us some tips on where to find some place to eat the next day. The next morning, my husband and I returned to the station to pick up some coffee and a quick breakfast. There was a young man behind the register and an older lady in the back by the coffee. Neither one of these employees made eye contact or smiled when we greeted them, but we felt their stares as we got coffee and sat down in a booth to eat a sandwich even though we asked if it was okay to sit down in the booth to eat. We left thinking, maybe they were upset they had to work on a holiday? We returned later that evening to buy some bottled water and another older gentleman was behind the register carrying on a conversation with a young lady about correctional officers in a women's prison who if I am not mistaken had exposed themselves to the female inmates. Whatever, none of my business... I got the merchandise I wanted to buy ready and placed it on the counter once the young lady had left and the counter was clear. I tried to make eye contact with the man at the register and said, "hello, how are you?" but he ignored me and instead rang me up complaining that his scanner would not work properly. As I paid him, again I smiled and tried to engage him but he avoided my efforts. Okay, so why should I care right? I guess where I come from people actually try to be nice if they work in customer service, so it was weird to be totally ignored. Hopefully, "Angel" can find a way to rub some of her pleasant personality off on her coworkers.... Sincerely, Happy to be back home in Virginia

The next morning there was a very very loud argument happening in the kitchen with multiple profanities thrown. There was an Amish group in the hallway and the women were embarrassed by what these two women in the kitchen were yelling. We chose to not eat breakfast after that unacceptable outburst of staff. Canaan Valley, you can do better. Whomever the head chef is should be fired for his selection of food ingredients and execution of the menu. It's unacceptable!
