The restaurant is filthy! Trash all over the tables! Bathrooms was trashy and filthy! The "so called" manger on duty who looked to be a teenager was telling her coworker how to basically be disrespectful to paying customers! She was gossiping about the place the whole time we was there! Not secretly talking but loud! If you have that much time to talk put more time into cleaning the bathroom or washing the tables! So when I lived in Bham this was the place to go for burgers. I moved to Atlanta and 20 years later, I still remember Milo's. I told my gf several times about this spot and we finally stopped on our way to MS. We ordered a cheeseburger with extra sauce. She grabbed it, looked at it and said it's small. I was like yes but it has flavor. She finally took a bite and looked at me and said the sauce is a winner. So I know anytime, we have to travel through AL we will stop here for sure. read more

We tried Milo's for the first time on a Thursday evening. The employee accidentally rang us up for combo meals and we had a minor discrepancy in fixing it. After 30 minutes and $33 we finally got our food and we left to head home to Odenville to eat it. We got home and it was definitely someone else's meal. I called and talked to 2 employees and they took my name down in the book and told me to bring my receipt back and they would remake our meal at no charge without me even asking what the resolution was. The next day we came back and brought the receipt, they apologized and started to remake our order, then all of the sudden a shift manager came over and told us that thee employee that promised us to remake our meal that was not a manager and could not honor what she said. I was kind of shocked that this was actually happening so after some discussion between the manager and employee, the manager agreed to honor the promise her employee made except for the chicken meal. At this point we just wanted to leave so we didn't argue. It's a bummer that this was such a poor experience. Overall the food was decent, but high priced for what you get. read more

The sweet tea was great despite them not giving me the lemons I asked for. I went through the drive thru and the service was really fast! This location is always busy! Food is always good and customer service is always great. They are famous for their burgers and sweet tea, but I recommend the tender meal with the double O sauce which is of like a zaxby's sauce but a little sweeter. Really, you can't go wrong at milos but you definitely need to get the sweet tea! read more

Oh you guys. You kinda owe me a favor for this one. Now you don't have to try this.. ever. I decided to check out Milo's on a road trip, being a little adventurous. Had the dog in the car, so the drive thru was the easiest. It's next door to like a Wendy's and the line was out of the parking lot so I thought, this must be legit. The building is weird looking. Not a lot of windows, and obviously used to be half the size, since part of the road with yellow double lines goes straight into the backside of the building. I don't know why I'm telling you this. The menu is super small. Basically hamburger/cheeseburger, big fries/little fries, apple pie, drink, or chicken kids meal. I got a cheeseburger and fries. I took my first bite and was like "Yea, okay this is pretty good.. and interesting.." It was like a cheeseburg-ey with A1 sauce. Interesting. The more bites I took, though, the less impressed I was. The patty was actually kind of dry. It was not juicy or even pretending to be good looking. The sauce became 'meh' in my mouth. I was quickly over it. The cheese was okay but overpowered by the mediocre bun and the many chunks of raw onion. Then there were also pickles. So the burger is a no-go. The fries however were good. I did enjoy them, but they are salty. I like it that way, but I can totally see someone being annoyed by that. This is really the difference between one and two stars. That plus the fact that although service was unremarkable, it wasn't negative. I save my single stars for terrible service. The only reason I would return to Milo's is if I'm on a trip, I get off an exit in East Bumble and cannot find a hot meal anywhere else - including the local gas station. Sorry Milo. i stopped by milo's on my way back home today and this young lady with curly hair took my order, i was very indecisive about what i wanted but she was extremely patient with me. she even repeated back my order and said "your total is ... thank you." when i got to the window she was taking the order behind me and taking my money. she said asked how i was and even said thank you when i handed her my card. she was a great multitasker. i watched her take an order, make drinks and bag my food. she had my food out in less than a minute. my experience was AMAZING. best customer service i've had in a while. read more

Normally, I try not to review things that everyone already knows about. Fast food generally falls into that category. I mean, what's there to tell about a place that has locations all over the place and that most people have already experienced? However, I happened into this Milo's the other day and was legitimately taken back with just how clean and tidy the place was, and how courteous and professional the staff was. As with most fast food places, things can be really hit or miss from one location to the next, and so I feel it's only right to give credit where credit is due. The store was so clean that it seemed as though they'd just opened for business, the burger was fresh, the fries were crispy, and the tea was as good as can be expected. Excellent work Milo's. I'll be back in the next time I'm on that side of town and yearning for a burger and that delicious, yet potentially diabetes inducing sweet tea. read more

Don't listen to any of the good reviews, the best thing about Milos was the service, the lady who took our order was very nice, we just wished she warned us about how bad the food was going to be. I'm not sure if it's an unspoken fact about Milos or it's their trademark and my family wasn't aware of it, but they put this brown sauce on every burger without telling you and it's not good, it taste like nasty brown gravy. The fries are ok at best, but their pies are also terrible as well. My burger tasted like watered down meat with with a lot of onions, and that sauce "milos sauce" added even more water to the flavor of water. Overall, the experience was terrible besides the customer service, I would give it 0 stars if I could rate that low. read more

After living in Gainesville, FL, for 7 years, I was *really* looking forward to my first trip to Milo's now that I'm finally back home. This Milo's is a little newfangled compared to what I remember (expanded menu, updated decor), but it did not disappoint. I had my old usual: the double-cheeseburger meal/86 the onions. Burger was excellent--drowning in sauce. The fries were on point and haven't changed. Still come with that popcorn salt that necessitates a trip to the drink station for a refill. (I was also psyched to see that they now make the fry-seasoning available in packets, should your fries somehow *not* come with the standard mouth-puckering amount of it.) To the reviewers who've given this place a poor rating: You don't have to tell us that you're not from around here. If you give Milo's one star review on Yelp, trust me--we already know. Milo's is a Birmingham & Alabama tradition. First of all, they make the best sweet tea I've ever had. It's sacrilegious to eat at Milo's and not have their sweet tea. As far as their burgers go, they are simple and straight to the point. You can get a burger with or without cheese, and it comes with pickles, onions, and their signature Milo's sauce served on a grilled bun. The fries are always seasoned to perfection for that classic Milo's taste. Ask for some of that original sauce to dip the fries in. If you're in the mood for dessert they have some great apple pies. I can not believe I have lived in Alabama 32 years and not had a burger from this place before now. These are the best burgers to have ever graced the presence of a grill! Not to mention the employees are some of the happiest I have come across. The prices are also VERY low. I suggest the Mega Meal (double cheese burger, large fry, large drink, and pie). All of that is only 6.79..... The burger's are cooked with a special sauce that is unbelievable, chopped onions, two slices of pickles, and on a toasted bun. The fries are seasoned with a some type of special seasoning that is really a nice touch. The tea is an award winner and should be tried if is your first time. I can promise you not want a soft drink after trying it. If there was one thing I had to give them negative marks on....It would be that I have to drive my family over 1 hour to get to the closest one from where I live. Milo's isn't TERRIBLE. But that's the problem with average reviews, especially when there aren't many. I have to give it a 1 so the average review isn't so high. 5 stars? People need to get out more. I would probably give it a 2, maybe a 3, depending on how much sodium I really felt I needed to ingest the day I ate it. The burgers are tasteless and the buns are oily. The fries are loaded in salt (popcorn salt?). But let's be honest, that sauce is AWESOME. So that's worth a 2-star rating right? It's probably not in my top 5 favorite fast food joints though. Our group of nine stopped here because of rave reviews from a UAB graduate. We were told to order the #4 Double Meat Cheeseburger Combo --- and we were not disappointed! There were multiple sauces available, with individual serving cups so you could try them all. It was fun to attempt to pick a favorite. Perfection. The sauce is the best. I love onions, and they cover the burgers in them. The buns are cooked in the burger grease. There is always that extra half piece of burger patty thrown in there. The cheese is melted in with the sauce. The fries are really salty. The tea is really sweet, as are the pies. If you go to Milo's and order anything besides the burger and fries, you obviously don't get it. This is not a place for people who actually need to watch their sodium, fat, or calorie intake. If you can afford a cheat meal, this is the place. I always get the mega meal. Double cheeseburger, large fries, large sweet tea, and a peach pie. Do not go through the drive thru here unless you plan on checking your order before you leave. Cheeseburger with no pickles means NO PICKLES. It doesn't mean NO ONIONS and ADD PICKLES. This is the worst Milo's I have ever eaten at. I haven't had a Milo's burger in a long time and I stopped at this one today and was absolutely shocked. The meat was not the same as it used to be. The patty was gray! My French fries had been sitting out for quite a while...they were brown and tough. I think they have changed the way they do the meat. It used to always be freshly cooked and this seemed like a preformed patty that maybe had been frozen! It just looked very strange. Tasted completely different - simply awful!
