This is my second time having lunch here. The owner always gives you a warm welcome and makes it her business to stop at your table and talk with you. I love her ginger beer she makes fresh. I had that, Fufu and Soup, my sister had the Palmbutter, and a side of plantains. Everything was amazing. She even has home made hot pepper sauce that packs the right amount of heat. For dessert we had her fresh made to order hot cinnamon donut. Please don't be like me, just get one because they are huge. I will be back in Georgia in a few months and I wooo be back. This is a hidden gem you must try. Let me know how you like it.

This is our 3rd time coming and tried something new. My cousin and friend had the red snapper while I had the sweet potato curry. The food was so very good! George provided great and friendly service. Soft music provided perfect vibes for our dinner. I also tried the mango peach punch which was yummy!! The food here is consistently delicious!!

PLANTAIN BOAT Delicious and Tasty. Please eat here for the experience.

The food was delicious. I went with the plantain boat and the fried Snappah!!! Delicious food....service was excellent! I appreciate the chef coming by to say hello!

This review is based on two visits to Musulyns. The first visit on Aug. 23, I ordered two fried pork chop meals to go. I live about 30 minutes away, but was just leaving the hospital and too sick to cook. The hostess was so polite, professional, and patient with me. When the meal was ready, she could see me struggling to get up and walk. So, she helped me up and escorted me to my car. I will patronize this restaurant as much as possible just because of her service and compassion. For the pork chop meals, the pork chops were well seasoned. However, I didn't like the cheese used in the macaroni and cheese. It reminded me of processed cheese. And, the collard greens were too bitter to eat. I prefer a more soul food version. The mashed potatoes were garlicky and good. The yams were sweet and delicious. But, the two together weren't the best idea. The second visit Aug. 26, my daughter and I decided to dine in. The same young lady was our waitress. I totally hate that I can't think of her name. Again, she provided exceptional service. She was attentive and patient. She really has a great personality. It took us a long time to decide what to order and she answered every question we had while still being attentive to the other tables. The place has a nice vibe. I love that there was a decent amount of space between each table. My daughter enjoyed her smoked ribs meal and I enjoyed my oxtail meal. The cornbread was very good. I even ordered an extra one to take home. I'm sure we'll be back to try the brunch one day.

My goodness! I am kicking myself & hard for not trying this place earlier!! How has this been in my town, that has mostly lack luster options, has it taken me this long?! Anyways, the important thing is I know now. I'm not going to lie, I'm seriously considering going back tomorrow to try more dishes. My sister-in-law was in town visiting from CA & came across Musulyn's on here. She asked if I had been, I said, "No, but I've really wanted to! Let's go!". We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes, Plantain Boat, & Love Roll to share. All were amazing & flavorful. Not a crumb left on any of our appetizer plates. I had the Oxtails, they were so good & fall off the bone. They came with Jollof rice & collard greens. I smashed it all. My SIL had the whole grilled Red Snapper. My mom who is vegan had the Sweet Potato Curry. My dad had the Catfish with collards, Mac & cheese, & corn bread. We all really enjoyed our entrees. We shared a Biscoff Banana Pudding for dessert. I'm drooling thinking about it. I need that recipe! Now listen, my 83 year old dad is the biggest food/restaurant critic out there. We really had to do some convincing & coaxing to get him to come with us. He ate every single bite of everything! I mean bone clean plates. He is always concerned with health scores as well. When we walked through the door I reassuringly pointed out their 100 A score on the wall. That is something they should be very proud of. I say this coming from working in the bar/restaurant business for many years. Even though we did not drink this time, they have a full bar. I'll have to try a cocktail, beer or wine next time. I think this time we were just saving room for all the food we ordered. The ambiance was nice, relaxing & with great music. The icing on the cake was the amazing service! They did such a fine job. Musulyn's will definitely be one of my new favorites. We need to keep them around at all cost! This experience was all around fantastic. My heart & belly are full. Oh & PSSSST by the way, for you guys that DoorDash they are available on there too.

Tonight we made our way to The Social Goat in Covington, Georgia. Before we even get to the food,…read morethis is the kind of restaurant that has a personality all its own. Goat-themed artwork is scattered throughout the restaurant, including some fun paintings that immediately caught our attention. The atmosphere feels more like a cozy tavern than a traditional taco restaurant, with dark wood, booths, and a comfortable setting that invites you to settle in and stay awhile. One interesting piece of local history is the building itself. We learned that in 1906, this building housed an antique market. Think about that for a moment. If someone was selling antiques here in 1906, some of those "antiques" might have been from the 1800s. More than a century later, the building is still serving visitors, although these days the focus is tacos rather than antiques. Covington itself is worth mentioning. The city has become known as Georgia's Hollywood of the South, with more than 100 movies and television productions filmed here over the years. Fans of The Vampire Diaries and Sweet Magnolias will recognize many locations around town. If you're visiting the area, there is plenty to see before or after dinner. Our server for the evening was Jordan, who provided friendly service throughout the meal. The menu features eleven different taco varieties, which immediately created a dilemma. Narrowing the choices down to just three was not easy. We ultimately chose the Fried Fish Taco, the Philly Taco, and the Sesame Ribeye Taco. The tacos are available as a trio, allowing you to sample three different varieties on one platter. The meal also came with chips, salsa, and queso, making it easy to share and compare flavors. Let's start with the Fried Fish Taco because it ended up being my favorite of the three. The fish itself had excellent flavor and was cooked just right. The taco was topped with a sauce that brought a unique flavor to the experience, and the crunchy slaw added texture that worked beautifully with the fish. Every component contributed something to the overall bite. This was the taco that surprised me the most and ultimately earned the top spot in my personal ranking. The Philly Taco finished a very close second. If you're a fan of Philly cheesesteaks, you'll immediately understand the appeal. Loaded with shaved ribeye, peppers, onions, and cheese, it delivered exactly the flavors I was hoping for. It was rich, satisfying, and packed with flavor. Sometimes simple combinations work for a reason, and this taco proved that point. The Sesame Ribeye Taco was the most unique of the three. The sesame-soy flavor was bold and immediately noticeable. I enjoyed the flavor profile and appreciated that it took the taco in a different direction than what I typically experience. Rather than trying to imitate a traditional taco, it offered something distinct and memorable. Anyone looking for a creative twist on a taco will likely find this one especially interesting. One thing I appreciated about the trio platter was the opportunity to compare very different flavor profiles side by side. The Fried Fish Taco offered a balance of fish, sauce, and crunch. The Philly Taco delivered familiar comfort-food flavors. The Sesame Ribeye Taco brought a bold and unique flavor profile to the table. Each taco had its own personality, which made the comparison part of the fun. The chips were crisp, the salsa was fresh, and the queso provided a nice complement to the tacos. Combined with the trio platter, it was more than enough food for a satisfying meal. The Social Goat manages to be more than just a taco stop. Between the historic building, the goat-themed decor, the welcoming tavern atmosphere, and a menu filled with creative options, it offers an experience that stands out from the typical restaurant visit. If we return, and there is a good chance we will, there are still eight taco varieties left for us to investigate. The Social Goat Tavern 1115 Church Street Covington, GA 30014

I will say that it is discouraging at first b/c of how discreet the location is and how it "looks" once you're in there. It is inside of the Mini Mall, and we entered on the opposite side, but was gladly pointed in the right direction by ppl at the entrance. This was our first time ever having African food, so we were a bit apprehensive, (especially by the appearance). But the thing that kept us there was the high health score of a 93!! Yaay!! I can do that! There was only one person working at the time, but it wasn't busy...at all! I will say don't be misled by the location or the atmosphere...the food was worth it! Oh, and they have only been open for 8 months. My husband got the Egusi soup w/FuFu. It was good! The FuFu isn't for me b/c I'm a texture person, and the texture was a no for me! However, the Egusi was bomb, very flavorful!! My husband liked it too! We had the peppers put on the side, and boy, are we glad! HEAT over-load!! Hot going in...and HOTTEST coming out!! But I can handle the heat, the hubby on the other hand can NOT!!LOL! We will mos. def. go back to try other options on the menu.
