I have never been to Milton's and been disappointed, except for when I don't get there early enough to get our favorites. (My own fault, not theirs.) the staff is friendly, prices are reasonable and collectively decided as a family, the best donuts. We get Milton's for every occasion. read more

Best donuts in town!!! Locally owned and operated Milton shines with freshly homemade donuts and pastries. If you have a sweet tooth- than this is the place to go! I often pick up donuts from this store for our staff and believe me, the donuts are always gone I'm not time. They are that good!!! Yummy, yummy, yummy. I love it when co workers bring in Milton's donuts for their bday. I haven't tried every type/style of tasty sweet treat but what I have tried I do like. Cake donuts, cake donut with cherry icing, cake donut with coconut icing are are very good. Next time I want to try the glazed and the croissant that has some glazing on it. read more

Absolutely delicious donuts! Stopped here as part of the Butler Donut Trail and it is definitely one of the top places I've ever been to for donuts. I ordered the Vanilla Cream and I loved it! Not only was it extremely fresh, the dough was fluffy, chocolate frosting on top melted in my mouth, and the vanilla cream was deliciously sweet. The filling was almost like a buttercream frosting, slightly lighter, but had the sweetness and weight that gave the donut substance. They also didn't skimp on the filling, every bite had its wonderful flavor! Definitely stop here for donuts. Their prices are cheap, but the quality is high end. First and foremost, the donuts and pastries were delicious! I'm a bakery owner and visiting my daughter here in Middletown, whenever I travel I always try to find a local bakery to check out, Milton's did not disappoint, the only downside was the service, the man behind the counter was short with me and not pleasant at all. Milton's used to be my favorite donut. I grew up in Middletown 40 years ago, and these were always the best. Especially the "pink" donuts, with cherry icing. But the original owners retired a few years ago, and I think the new owners blew it. You should never mess with a great thing. I haven't lived in OH for about 15 yrs, but I have family that still do. One of my favorite things to do when visiting, was to buy a couple dozen donuts, bag them up, and take them back to VA to freeze them. Always worked great, and it was an awesome treat for a Saturday breakfast. But the last batch, which we bought and froze in Feb, were a huge disappointment yesterday. I have no idea why, but they've changed that magical icing. The current version tastes like straight sugar. Now they are just very average donuts. Sadly, I think I've transported my last Milton's to Virginia. read more

I tried Milton's Donuts while on the Donut Trail. Saturday morning of Father's Day, my husband and I decided to take our DT list and go around with our daughter and try most of the shops listed. This was one of the stops on the trail. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with this donut shop. While on the trail we only got one donut per shop. It doesn't sound like a lot but go to 8 donut shops in one day and see how you feel at the end. Lol. Talk about a donut overload, and a sugar rush! Haha! It was fun though. We ordered a Lemon Glazed, Lemon Filled Donut from this location. From every location we tried something different. I didn't get a picture because when the girl put the donut in the bag, and I went to grab it out the icing had all come off in the bag. The donut also wasn't anything special. I didn't get the feel of homemade and specific to that donut shop. It was very standard and like they were just following a basic donut recipe (like one from the back of a box or bag). The lemon filling was also weird. It definitely tasted artificial. Nothing about this shop screamed homemade. The donut seemed very cliche of any donut shop. Okay, what can I say, I love donuts. I am picky about my donuts as well. Wherever I travel,I look for a local donut joint. I have one of the best on my neck of the woods. The donuts at Milton's are the very best I have had. Jelly Balls have plenty of jelly. Sour cream cake donuts are crusty glazed over soft and crumbly cake. Custard filled chocolate frosted are fresh, yeast donuts with a not-too-sweet icing and lots of lucious custard filling. Fried cheese are glazed crispy and stuffed with warm cream cheese. Glazed have that wonderful crispy glaze over soft yeast donuts. Every donut I've had here is fresh-baked, yummy. I think they are the best in southwest Ohio...and I've tried nearly all the shops I can find! read more

Our second stop on the Donut Trail was Milton's Donuts. Located in a strip mall, they had an okay selection. I chose the Fried Danish, which was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was delicious, and the helpful attendant selected a donut with extra frosting for me. :D My husband had the Cinnamon Roll with caramel glaze, which was a bit odd. Soooo yummy! My husband and I moved to Ohio form California and our donuts taste so different in California?? I couldn't find a donut that tasted like the donuts I've always eaten. I'll start with the good. The cream horns, are to die for! It's like biting into a cloud. It just flakes off into your mouth so perfectly, that you question if you even actually took a bite. The apple fritter. The perfect little crunch on the outside, and delicious apple and cinnamon on the inside. Their yeast donuts are huge! You can tell by the photos the clear size difference between the yeast and the cake. The cake donuts were also delicious! The fried sour cream donut was amazing! The not so good. Their glaze is a little heavy for my liking. I can't do the super sweet stuff, and this is a bit much for me. But that is completely personal preference. The fruity pebbles donut was a bit out of my wheelhouse, but I wanted to try it. Not good. The fruity pebbles are soggy, and somehow completely lost their taste. The glazed croissant was a bit of a letdown. It's one menu item that people rave about, and I thought it was just okay. Again, strictly personal preference. The really not so good. I like my cookies crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. But these cookies are hardly baked at all. I'm not a fan. I also ordered one each of M&Ms, Reese's, triple chocolate and oatmeal raisin. I requested a refund if any of these weren't available, (DoorDash order). Instead, they gave me two Reese's, and something that looks like a blueberry white chocolate chip. One of my donuts was completely smashed. I ordered a glazed twist, and was given an original glazed ring. I requested on DoorDash for them to contact me if anything was unavailable. Of course, they did not. Finally, I was charged additional $5.25 extra for the $18.50 dozen. I contacted the restaurant directly, and the woman who answered the phone explained to me that it was because I chose three specialty donuts, and I could only get two. I advised her that that's not what the menu says, and I read the menu directly to her. She then said that she just checked the menu herself, and I was wrong. So she puts me on hold and I hear her in the background talking to someone else. When she comes back to the phone, she then tells me that it's because I got filled donuts and they are also considered specialty donuts. That is not what the menu says at all. Neither the DoorDash menu, nor their website menu. I suggested that they look into that if they can, and she got snappy with me and said she would let her manager know. She told me that they were unable to adjust the price, and, of course, DoorDash wouldn't fix it either. My overall issue with this experience, is the poor customer service. Not calling me with changes to my order as I requested, and arguing with me over what the menu says, and then changing the story when they realized that I was right. I'm not writing this place off by any means, but I definitely won't be spending 40 bucks there again!

It was a great experience to visit here, I got the orange creamsicle donut which was delicious. The staff was so friendly and the store itself was very well stocked with lots of donuts and pastries.

Looking at their display of baked goods was mouthwatering. I decided on the chocolate raspberry cupcake. The chocolate cupcake was very rich, decadent, and moist. I was surprised by the hint of raspberry filling on the inside but taking a bite and getting a taste of the chocolate cupcake, icing, and raspberry on top all at once was well blended and a definite treat for my senses. I would not have guessed it was vegan. My son picked the chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate chip cookie sandwich. He said he enjoyed both. I will be back to try other delectable treats.
