We had the pleasure of chatting with the owners, Monica and Albert, who shared their exciting plans to expand their menu. I hope to see menudo, pozole, horchata, kolache, and more--such a great way to share their culture through food! Their shop is charming, located at the end of a strip center with plenty of parking. I tried Mimi's Donuts while on the Donut Trail. Saturday morning of Father's Day, my husband and I decided to take our DT list and go around with our daughter and try most of the shops listed. This was one of the stops on the Donut Trail. While on the trail we only got one donut per shop. It doesn't sound like a lot, but go to 8 donut shops in one day in 3.5 hrs, talk about a sugar overload! Lol! It was all fun and yummy though! Lol. We ordered a Blueberry Lemon donut from this location. From every location we tried something different. This was a Blueberry donut topped with lemon frosting. It was actually good and tasted homemade. I like that this donut is unique to them and you cannot order this at every donut shop. It was well balanced on the blueberry and lemon flavors. It was a yummy donut! Overall, Mimi's had a good unique donut that we enjoyed. read more

Our final trip on the Donut Trail began at Mimi's Donuts. This may have been the earliest we'd managed to get out and about for a donut run (around 9:00 AM), so there was a decent selection available at this strip mall location. My husband selected a Blueberry cake donut with lemon frosting. This had a slight crunch to it and good flavor overall - lemon and blueberry pair very well together. I went with the peanut butter cream-filled, Reese's-topped, chocolate frosted donut. Overall, it was a good, fairly light donut, although it could have used more peanut butter filling. We visited recently as one of our stops on the Butler County Donut Trail. We arrived late, around 10:30 and were lucky to get the last few donuts. The staff was so kind and helpful. Even though we bought the rest of their donuts they let us stay and chit chat while our toddler chowed down. We don't live close, but the next time we are around we will definitely stop by. Long time donut lover here, Mini Cherry filled donut looked cute and delicious, but there was nothing out of that ordinary that would keep me coming back. The selection was limited towards the end of the store hrs. There are 4 small tables outside and the donuts are about 1$. Its better to come before noon before the donuts run out. On the eighth part of the Butler County Donut Trail, we arrived at Mimi's Donuts & Bakery. This place, I will admit, had some of the best service out of all the places we visited. The cashier was super friendly and chatted with us about some of the donuts she had made. While it wasn't a big variety, they still had a decent amount of donuts. In the end, we got the lemon iced blueberry cake & the maple/caramel glazed long john. They were decent donuts, soft and tasty. I was told that the long john icing was a mix of maple & caramel, which confused me, but tasted alright. In the end, they were ok donuts. Still, it's nice to see someone passionate about their donuts, which is a big plus in my books. read more

Like most local donut shops, Mimi's is a 'hole in the wall' little bakery. I tried the glazed donut with vanilla frosting & coconut flakes- it was a surprise favorite along the trail. The donut was light & airy and the icing/ coconut combo was perfectly sweet without being a sugar bomb!
