We had such a wonderful experience at Mimi's Cafe! From the moment we walked in, we were seated incredibly quickly, which was especially appreciated since I was dining with my 3-month-old baby. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable right away. Our drinks arrived almost immediately after we were seated, and the service throughout the entire meal was impressively fast without ever feeling rushed. The food was absolutely delicious--everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The portions were also very generous, making the meal feel like an excellent value. A special thank you to our server, Nancy, who was beyond helpful. She was attentive, friendly, and consistently one step ahead of anything we needed. Her service was much quicker than we expected, and she truly helped make our visit enjoyable and stress-free. What stood out most was how accommodating everyone was toward both me and my baby. It's not always easy dining out with an infant, but every staff member we encountered was kind, patient, and welcoming, which made a huge difference. I took my family to Mimi's Cafe on Mother's Day hoping for a special meal, but the experience was very disappointing. Despite knowing Mother's Day is busy, the poor service we received had nothing to do with how crowded the restaurant was. Our server only had a couple of tables yet still seemed disengaged and uninterested in her job. She never told us about the blackboard specials, didn't check on us, and never refilled our drinks. Some of our orders came out incorrect, and the kids' plate was brought out last, which made it hard for our family to enjoy the meal together. For the nearly 200 dollars we spent, this felt like a complete waste of money on what was supposed to be a special occasion. On top of that, this location has really gone down in both quality and service compared to past visits, which makes the experience even more frustrating. I understand that holidays can be challenging for restaurants, but basic communication and attentiveness were missing during our visit. Came in recently to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday with a quick breakfast, and it was a nice, easy spot for that. The place seemed clean, service was good, and our food came out in a timely manner, which I always appreciate. For what you get, the portions and overall experience are solid. The breakfast was actually pretty delicious. I wouldn't say anything has ever wowed me, but I've also never had a bad experience here, which says a lot. I tried the chilaquiles for the first time and they just weren't my favorite. The sauce didn't really come together for me, but I still ate some of it. I went in for my birthday breakfast and brought my dogs so we sat in the outside patio. We were the only ones outside because of the record heat that was happening that day but it was 8:45am and in the shade the weather was nice. Came on a Sunday brunch time from reservations made with friends. We were immediately seated and asked about drinks/refreshments. I really enjoyed that they had an extensive menu and at first felt a bit overwhelmed. Suffice it to say I'm glad I decided on the chorizo omelet which was fantastic and really appreciated that the meal came with a muffin that they seemed to have a bountiful amount of flavors to choose from. My wife selected their 1/2 roast chicken, but I feel like she would've preferred the salad more. I think I would want to visit to try more breakfast options and desserts. We recently had a Celebration of Life for my brother and the service provided by Julio, and his team was phenomenal! Since my brother was a comic book enthusiast, we honored him with a Superhero theme. Julio the manager was very accommodating to ensure our event went very smoothly. This place holds a special place in my heart. My mother's favorite restaurant has always been Mimi's. When a women I connected with on a dating site suggested that we meet at this restaurant I felt that my mother in heaven was looking over me. On our first meeting at this restaurant we were seated in a booth. We talked for almost 4 hours and the staff never put any pressure on us to leave. We came in between lunch and dinner rushes, so many booths were open, so I was grateful they allowed us to get to know about each other for a long time. The food was just as great as the service, and the ambiance allowed us to enjoy a great talk without shouting. For my our six month anniversary, we came back here after church services. To our amazement, without them knowing, they sat us in the same booth we shared on our first meeting. We kept the conversation a bit more brief this time as the Sunday crowd was present. We had lunch at Mimi's today and it was terrible. We had the quiche lunch special. When we got it, it was sunken in the middle and about 1/4" high. It had absolutely no taste. The crust was soft and moist where it moved around like rubber. It did not have the consistency of a pie or quiche crust. It was horrible. The plate had little fried potato pieces on the plate that were dry and also tasteless. The service was also not good. We were there for over an hour and our empty glasses were never refilled. We will never eat here again. We had the same sort of experience two other times and this was the third. This was no coincidence or a bad day. I have gotten the quiche lorraine before and it was great, but today it tasted more like a reheated quiche from frozen. I haven't been to Mimi's in many years, and always loved their French onion soup and their bread basket with the zucchini bread. We were in the area running errands and decided to take my kids here for lunch. Well...now the bread basket is only offered during dinner (by request during lunch) and only has slices of french bread. The server said he's never seen zucchini bread offered and he's been working there almost 4 years. Speaking of server, he was great, and very attentive. I got my usual favorite - the tuna melt. My sons got the kids cheeseburger with fries (comes with a little "dirt in a cup" dessert), breakfast burrito, and pot roast as part of the $30 special which includes appetizer, entree, and dessert. We decided to add a spinach artichoke dip & bread appetizer for an additional $10. Prices of the menu items are a lot higher than I remember, so this $30 special is a great deal. Most of the food was good, my son didn't like his breakfast burrito that much though. And the spinach artichoke dips tasted like it was microwaved straight from the freezer - watery and tasteless. We shared the Butter Toffee Cake for dessert, and we all LOVED it! My middle son said he would come back just to eat that. Our server asked if we wanted any baked goods to go and I purchased a 4 pack of muffins for less than $14 - buttermilk spice, blueberry crumble, pumpkin spice, and chocolate chip. These are amazing, pick them up and enjoy them the next day for breakfast! Still sad that they no longer have the zucchini bread, but their french onion soup is still great! read more

We checked in around 12:49 and was immediately told that it would be a 45 minute wait. We waited until 1:30 and still had no status on when we would be seated. The front individuals kept blaming technology. Names were written down but I think reservations and walk-ins were combined, let alone other parties were deemed "taking too long". For the entree, we had the Turkey which comes with a cornbread stuffing and two sides. The turkey was very juicy and tender and paired well with the gravy. Also fairly enjoyed my sides of mashed potatoes and green beans, all seasoned well. For dessert, we were so full that we took the toffee cake to go, which was very delicious. Here for coffee and breakfast after a fasting blood test. Service was fast this morning and I was seated and had a cup of coffee in less than 5 minutes. They have a seasonal menu with several peach specials so I had to order the Grilled Peach French toast combo. The combo comes with eggs and bacon which were done perfectly. Sunny side eggs with solid whites and runny yokes, plus crisp bacon. The French toast is as done well with warm peach slices, brown sugar, and whipped cream. Just a little disappointed with the peaches/. Good quantity but not quite caramelized, and probably a little too late in the season. Still, I would order it again.
