My family was so excited to come here because it is nostalgic to us. We planned ahead of time and made reservations. We checked in around 12:49 and was immediately told that it would be a 45 minute wait. We waited until 1:30 and still had no status on when we would be seated. The front individuals kept blaming technology. Names were written down but I think reservations and walk-ins were combined, let alone other parties were deemed "taking too long". Many parties unfortunately were waiting in the heat. It was shocking to get this type of poor preparation, let alone for Mother's Day. We had lunch at Mimi's today and it was terrible. We had the quiche lunch special. When we got it, it was sunken in the middle and about 1/4" high. It had absolutely no taste. The crust was soft and moist where it moved around like rubber. It did not have the consistency of a pie or quiche crust. It was horrible. The plate had little fried potato pieces on the plate that were dry and also tasteless. The service was also not good. We were there for over an hour and our empty glasses were never refilled. We will never eat here again. We had the same sort of experience two other times and this was the third. This was no coincidence or a bad day. Ordered the three course meal for lunch to share and everything was very tasty. We opened with french onion soup, which had a nice rich onion and beef flavor. For the entree, we had the Turkey which comes with a cornbread stuffing and two sides. The turkey was very juicy and tender and paired well with the gravy. Also fairly enjoyed my sides of mashed potatoes and green beans, all seasoned well. For dessert, we were so full that we took the toffee cake to go, which was very delicious. Here for coffee and breakfast after a fasting blood test. Service was fast this morning and I was seated and had a cup of coffee in less than 5 minutes. They have a seasonal menu with several peach specials so I had to order the Grilled Peach French toast combo. The combo comes with eggs and bacon which were done perfectly. Sunny side eggs with solid whites and runny yokes, plus crisp bacon. The French toast is as done well with warm peach slices, brown sugar, and whipped cream. Just a little disappointed with the peaches/. Good quantity but not quite caramelized, and probably a little too late in the season. Still, I would order it again. It's been awhile since my last visit to a MiMi's and apparently some things have changed. An old favorite of mine was the egg white veggie omelet, but today it resembled a failed attempt at a fritta. Too browned on the bottom and soggy on the top. I couldn't eat it. The carrot muffin was delicious and ultimately saved the day. read more

The service at Mimi's is exceptional and the environment is calm and relaxed. The waitresses still hustle but they definitely don't make the service feel rushed. On our last visit, the Dubai chocolate pancakes were absolutely amazing! The portions were generous and with the chocolate factor being more than any expectations, I was able to enjoy them as leftovers. Grab some before they leave the menu, as they're a seasonal item. Fact: I may have once decorated my kitchen utilizing many of the French countryside concepts that Mimi's emblazoned. In the area, I dropped in for lunch yesterday. My server was Brianna, and she was nonpareil- Greeted me with a smile at every interaction, anticipated my need for frequent Diet Coke refills and a delight to be served by. Absolutely zero favoritism displayed just because she shares my beloved daughter's name. Wink. Pro Tip: If you're ever uncertain of what to order from Mimi's, and perhaps the heavier fare of Pot Roast Dinner or Tuscan Style Grilled Chicken doesn't strike your fancy, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the FRENCH QUARTER BURGER. Ditto for the world-class French Onion Soup, available both as a side (in a cup) and in a heaping bowl. The French Quarter Burger has been a go-to staple of mine at Mimi's for 35yrs. Thick, glassy ground beef encased within layers of melted gruyere cheese, crisp bacon, red onions, cold tomato/lettuce, creamy avocado and HALLMARK grilled garlic-parmesan sourdough bread! It's a revelation, as far as burgers go. And so filling I'd dare (professional eating champ) JOEY CHESTNUT to finish a whole burger at one sitting! The fries are reminiscent of the fries served by Smash Burger, unctuous and drizzled with shaved chives. Pro Tip #2: Mimi's is famous for her bread pudding!! Scratch-made, featuring whiskey sauce, raisins and freshly whipped cream. My late mother, may she continue resting in Paradise, ordered TWO bread puddings as her final sit-down restaurant meal, in the summer of 1997. Alas, feeling nearly stuffed following my French Quarter but craving a lighter dessert than Bread Pudding, I ordered their Muffin Sundae. You pinpoint any of their four in-house baked muffins (blueberry crumble, buttermilk spice, honey bran or carrot nut) and they'll serve it a la mode with drizzled caramel. I selected the latter and it was divine. Yelpers- You'll note today's review highlights a couple of items (the decadent, velvety French Onion Soup and their Bread Pudding) that I did not order, today. Trust this Yelp Elite Correspondent when I write, er, rave about both!! As I've had both dozens of prior visits. Why not 5 stars, you ask?! Because my fries arrived slightly lukewarm (I'm a stickler for hot fries!) and because Mimi's starter bowl of bread arrived with only French bread in it. Have they altered their policy amd no longer bring their delish carrot-nut Madeleines tableside?! L'horreur! The men's room was decently clean and stocked. In conclusion, I'd accord server Brianna 5 stars for service, the restaurant 4 stars for food/cleanliness and ambiance. Go, start your own Parisian affair with Mimi. Tired restaurant. Its Sat night at 7:30 and Applebee's was packed, but not Mimi's. Here is why: it's a tired restaurant with slow service and sub par food portions and quality. I had such a great experience at Mimis cafe thanks to Julio, who truly went above and beyond. When i noticed something was off with my order-he stepped in right away to make it right. He is amazing and genuine. Not only did he fix the issue with the order quickly, he surprised me with a free pie as an apology. It was completely unexpected and incredibly thoughtful. You don't see service like that often in this day and age. Julio turned what could have been a major inconvenience into a reminder of why great customer service matters. While running early morning errands in the area we decided to stop for a quick bite to eat and have a cup of coffee. We decided to go to Mimi's since we just finished shopping at Target. Our server Humberto was amazing and very attentive. He kept our coffee cups filled and warm. I decided to order lunch for breakfast, a beef dip with a petite Caesar salad and my husband ordered a bacon,ham and sausage omelet which was good. The beef dip roll tasted like it was freshly baked and the roast beef was tender. It needed a little more flavor which I should have added the cheese and grilled onions for a slight up-charge. I only wish these extras were included with the sandwich as it would have given it so much more flavor and given the price of the sandwich it really should be included(how much does a slice of cheese and onions cost anyway??). Since it's been a while since we've been here we were glad to see they still included their yummy muffins with their omelettes. Always one of my husband's favorites!! Big place. Felt kinda like an upscale Denny's. And there are many locations. They did make homemade corned beef brisket hash, which was delicious. But everything else was just OK. And they seemed to have a hard time making consistent eggs, or how they were requested. They have gluten free bread, for $2 more. I double checked that it was, but I'm still not convinced. Not because I got sick, but because it was rye, soft, and just as big as a normal bread slice (not tiny, which always is a bummer). And then when they brought my salad, it had croutons on it. To cut them a little slack, it was brunch, no reservation and still seated us immediately, were very nice and attentive, and my friends love it there. But I don't think I'd go again. They enjoyed their quiche and their bread pudding. I would definitely like more gluten free options and other allergens marked on the menu, etc. read more
