We sat at the bar Jackie was the bartender that night she was super friendly and awesome! I had Tito's, tonic and a splash of pineapple juice which was good! My friend had a Paloma and she enjoyed her cocktail too! We shared the guacamole and chips which were good only thing I would have added was a little extra lime juice and pinch more of salt! Love the tortillas tasted fresh! I love their refried beans that hit the spot packed with flavor! Interesting enough I enjoyed the fire grilled taste of the asada meat!!! I killed my tacos!!! The guacamole on top of the tacos squeeze of limes was chef kiss! They have a salsa bar too so all my friends who enjoy spicy salsas have at it!!! I ordered a bean and cheese burrito w/carne asada at the drive-thru. They wanted to charge me nearly $10 for the bean and cheese burrito and an additional $5 and change for the addition of carne asada. I was willing to pay the $17 for the burrito but when i got to the window there was a hand-written sign warning they charged an additional 3% credit card fee. I just bailed. That's too much for a burrito, especially when there's so many other options nearby. I ended up going to Alberto's and got the same burrito for under $10. read more

This was my first time here. I wanted to try their happy hour since I see their sign on my way home. I'm excited to have this place near me. I had their fish tacos and tacos Al pastor with a lemon drop, thank you very much. The tortilla was handmade, and it had the right thickness. The meat was quality and charred just right--perfectly actually. The fish tacos were good, but those al pastor tacos were the show. Finally, Jackie, the bartender, knows what she is doing. The lemon drop was delicious and not your typical watered down sugar drink--it was well balanced and had me in ratatouille mode enjoying my food with the perfect drink to accentuate my meal. My friend and I had lunch here today for the first time and were not disappointed. She had a chicken taco and a carnitas taco for taco Tuesday and the meats were very good and she preferred the carnitas. The only issue is that they were a bit on the small side. I had the flautas with rice and beans, both beef and chicken and both were great and plenty of meat on both. The prices on everything were very fair. What really sets this restaurant apart is the excellent service...from the time we walked in to when I ordered additional carnitas tacos to go for dinner :-) we felt that our business was appreciated and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. I love flautas. There--I said it. But what I like even more is when flautas are on the inexpensive side like they were when I was growing up and used to get them through the drive-thru of the local burger and Mexican food drive-thru near DeAnn's hometown. Back then it was about $8 for four absolutely delicious flautas and rice & beans with a drink. While I'll never get that price again, it's nice to know places like Alvarado's are doing $13 Flautas and not the usual $20 price point. And these flautas are damn good. They're maybe not gourmet or primed to win any awards, but they satisfy and they make me crave just one or two more. And that's all you really want from a flauta, to fill you up and leave you thinking you could suck down a few more. I will say I wasn't impressed by the rice, pea-filled and uninspiring, but the beans more than made up for them. I was even assured by the maybe manager that I could even order double beans next time, making this a no-excuses meal to order repeatedly in the future. The service was great. They were fast and efficient, getting my order out to me in about 5-8 minutes. They asked up and down a few times if everything was good to me and the other customers. Even the location and energy of the place. I've never seen a nicer fast casual place next to a gas station. If all Circle K's had this level of dining next to them I'd be a bigger fan of theirs. The dining room was super spacious and clean. All the paraphernalia like drink station, salsa station, and counters were laid out nicely. Ambience is 10/10: super clean, and we were greeted at the entrance by Andrew. He took our order and was really nice and patient, explaining all the menu options to us. There's music playing in the background, not too loud which is awesome, and they have sports playing and a cute little bar area. My husband and I got the pepino water, it was so good, and they offer unlimited refills on waters. I ordered the taquitos and omggggggg soooo delicious, super authentic. The salsa verde is not spicy at all, and it goes perfect with the tacos and burrito. My husband got the street burrito, also delicious and very authentic. The food is so delicious here. I have tried a number of items on the menu and I have not been disappointed. The micheladas are delicious too. Perfect place to watch the Dodger game while hanging out with my friends eating delicious food and delicious guac and chips. The service is good too, the staff are friendly and they make sure you have everything you need. The place is also very clean. Thankfully it's close to my house. TAKE OUT (1/09/2026) I was at Walmart getting an oil change and could not help but notice the amazing smell in the air. After dropping my car off, I asked the tech if he knew where the smell was coming from. He said it was from Alvarado! I was with my dog so I had to order outside and wait but the service was still really good. Kudos to them. I was craving seafood, and opted for the shrimp cocktail. The cocktail is just shy of 20 bucks after tax, and chips and salsa were not complementary, $5 more bucks. I had high hopes for the food, particularly my shrimp cocktail but when I got home and opened the bag, I seen how much they left from filling the container. It was short of being full. Nearly 2 inches from the lid, I mean come on now. Fill it to the top, it won't bankrupt yall I promise. The inside was not much better. Very bland and unsubstantial. Avocado inside were very large and nearly whole, wouldn't hurt to give them a cut. Outside of that, there was shrimp inside and not much else expect the juice. Huge disappoint and I do not recommended this cocktail. As mentioned, the salsa and chips were not complimentary, & was charged an additional $5 dollars. Unfortunately the salsa was very runny, and lacked a robust flavor profile. 2/5 for this place. read more

This is a new location in the area. It just opened up recently. I ordered take out and was happy with the food. I had the Alvarado burrito, chicken burrito and a Al Pastor taco. They were all delicious. Service staff were friendly and efficient. One side of the restaurant has a bar and the other side is the dining room. First time customers after driving by having no idea this place even existed. We went home, looked up the menu and were intrigued. Hubby went back the next day and got a drink, the Cali burrito, Alvarado burrito, bean and cheese burrito and a shrimp taco! We were impressed! The meat was not greasy or fatty at all and super fresh. The Cali burrito our son ate so fast, we didn't even get a pic. The bean and cheese burrito was delish! Always nice to have authentic tasting beans. Aguas! The pineapple and cucumber was so refreshing! Some aguas tend to be too sweet! This one was not. (Side note: If you get a large and dine in, you get free refills. And the shrimp taco!! Homemade tortilla, the house sauce and the mushrooms! It was perfect. Go for yourself! You won't be disappointed. Next time, we will dine in rather than pick up to enjoy the ambiance. One thing I would say is if you are expecting a massive burrito, ours were not very big. Tried this place for the first time for take-out. The inside was extremely clean and looked brand new! They have a full bar and beers on tap! The service was excellent! The very kind woman at the front helped explain all of the different salsas, and her favorite items. All of the salsas were good, including the spicy ones!! (Try all of them)! She told us a brief history of their two restaurants, and we were able to try the horchata before taking it home (the original horchata is a MUST)! For the food, we had their Al pastor burrito which was fresh and flavorful! The chile relleno burrito was also good. The chicken taquitos were good for my toddler. Man, as a local I really wanted this place to be the spot. It's a newer restaurant in a nice new building, so I came in with pretty high expectations. The drive thru looks great, and the girl working the line was friendly and helpful. I ordered an asada burrito and asked to add lettuce. I was told there would be an extra charge, which honestly felt a little weird since most Mexican spots don't charge for something that basic, but I agreed to it anyway. I also wanted to try the tacos, but the menu showed them at $6 each. The employee mentioned they had a $3 taco promo, which still isn't exactly cheap, but I figured they must be pretty loaded if the regular price is $6. I ordered four tacos to try different meats. Unfortunately, asada wasn't included in the promo, so I ended up getting pastor and birria. I also ordered a taquito plate and a regular horchata. Total came out to about $51. At that point, I was expecting some really solid food, but honestly, when I got home and opened everything up, I was disappointed. The portions just didn't match the price. The asada burrito was about a 6/10. The meat quality itself seemed decent, but the flavor was lacking almost bland. I actually added salt at home, which helped a little, but still not enough to make it memorable. The tacos were surprisingly small, especially for something regularly priced at $6 each. I'd rate them around a 5/10. If they were closer to $2 tacos, I probably would've viewed them differently. With more meat and better flavor, they could easily improve, but right now they just don't justify either the regular price or even the promo price. The taquito plate was decent, but pretty average overall around a 6/10 too. Another thing that stood out was the lack of little extras you normally expect from a Mexican food spot. No napkins, no lemons/limes, no forks, nada. Overall: Food: 6/10 Value: 4/10 I honestly think this place has potential because the location and building are nice, but they're going to have a hard time building repeat customers with the current setup. If you're driving by, it's easily missed, located right off the 71 freeway and next to the Sonic, but don't let the small exterior fool you--the inside is surprisingly spacious and well laid out. Service and Atmosphere (5/5 Stars): The moment we sat at the bar, the service was fantastic. We were immediately given chips and salsa, and the chips tasted incredibly fresh, like they were made in-house. The staff was super friendly, and the manager even took the time to chat with us, making us feel genuinely welcome. They have a bar area and several TVs to catch the game, which is a great bonus. The Food--Hits and Misses: Though I wasn't hungry initially, those fresh chips and salsa opened up my appetite! * The Standouts: You must try the Chili--it was amazing and absolutely bursting with flavor. We ordered a variety of enchiladas (red and green, beef and chicken), and the clear winner was the Red Enchilada with Beef. It was my favorite dish of the night. Kenny and the salsa bar are the stars of the show! So was my bacon breakfast burrito! Service really does make a difference in a restaurant experience and Kenny went above and beyond for me from grabbing me a glass of water w lemon without me having to ask, making accommodations for my food, and checking in to see how my meal was. The restaurant is clean and well taken care of. The salsas were fresh and soooo tasty. I often come to get Mexican food for the salsas as they are my favorite. They had a large variety. I asked for the bacon well done and they delivered, no chewy fatty bacon for me :) Kenny also waited until I walked in to put my food on the plate so it was nice and hot for me! I really appreciated how far he went out of his way to make my experience nice.
