    Broccoli & mashed potatoes

Our office ordered Mimi's catering today for our early Thanksgiving (/potluck) celebration. We had the ham and turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The meats were dry since they were already sliced up. Mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli, cranberries sauce were all okay. It used to be much better when our family ate right there at the restaurant. 3.5/5

Had a great experience at Mimi's after my doctors appointment. We ordered to go and David provided great help and customer service when helped us with our order.

    Chicken pot pie.

Mimi's Cafe is a chain of casual restaurants serving American food with a touch of French bistro influence that I visit occasionally. Authentic or not, their onion soup is richly flavorful and delicious and is topped with a generous portion of melted cheese. It is probably one of their signature dishes on the menu. Some of my other favorites include their pot roast which is cooked French style in a red wine sauce and parmesan crusted chicken breast filet served over linguini with a zesty marinara sauce. I recently had a chicken pot pie, and it was surprisingly good. For some reasons it is quite difficult to find a good and hearty chicken pot pie in the Southland. I was impressed at first glance by its buttery, flaky, and perfectly golden-brown crust. The pie was stuffed with plenty of chicken and vegetables blended in a rich and savory sauce. The only slight disappointment was that it was a bit dry. It would have been perfect if there were more sauce inside the pie. But overall, I was happy about the meal. And don't forget that they have some of the best breakfasts in town. I am a big fan of their breakfast potatoes and house made sausages. Their quiches are also a great breakfast option that are not available in too many places early in the morning. Last but not the least, don't forget to check out their fried chicken and waffles.

A rediculous place to go! The waitress was rude and the price is unreasonably high! Irvine location is worse than fountain valley location.

I ordered a $20 steak/frites to go. Got home and realized the steak was completely burnt. I threw the entire steak away.

Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor with a fireplace outside for those chilly nights and where you can just relax and unwind. It's a very convenient restaurant for the surrounding businesses that would like to grab lunch without having to drive, have meetings or want a drink right after work. I was reviewing some of the dishes a couple of months before our arrival and thought this would be a nice early birthday dinner so I went ahead and reserved the 5pm dinner slot. But now let's get to the food! FOOD Short Ribs Croquettes (Appetizer) These were delightful. Not only cute and presentable but the flavors were delicious, a perfect combination of everything! Especially the aji amarillo aioli. Don't be shy when taking a scoop of the aioli, be sure to give the croquettes a nice drench of it! Highly recommend! Sea Bass Crudo (Appetizer) Presentation may seem a bit flat but I promise you it's packed with flavor! Prepared with citrus ponzu, serrano and garlic chili crunch, the Sea Bass Crudo is definitely refreshing with a bit of a kick! Looking for a shareable seafood type appetizer? Then you should absolutely try this out! Streak Frites This one felt like it would be a nice balanced healthy lunch. Marinated steak with bourbon peppercorn sauce sitting on a bed of fries featuring a nice portion of salad. Had the steak cooked medium and it was just perfect. I wouldn't mind ordering this dish again! Work nearby and want a balance of everything? Then this is the dish for you! Braised Short Rib Probably my favorite one. Meat easily melts in every bite. Paired with those whipped potatoes beneath? Forget it! It may seem like a small dish but it gets filling pretty quick. I think this is another dish I'll be ordering the next time we visit! Peach Butter Cake (Dessert) I seem to have found myself in trouble when taking that first initial bite because I couldn't stop myself indulging its rich flavor! I was already full at this point but this was too damn delicious. It's got the same concept of a pizookie and I'm a sucker for this type of dessert! Love pizookies? Peach jam? Then you should get this! Guarantee you'll have it all to yourself! OVERALL Actually glad we were able to try this place out as I just stumbled upon it a couple months before. Great establishment for dates, small hangouts, big parties or an after work dinner. Spacious interior with comfy seatings and a modern look to the place. Oh and don't forget to get your parking ticket validated! Special thanks to the team and for the GM Chris Teng for checking up on us from time to time to ensure we were enjoying our experience. Definitely will be coming back!

We tried the crab cake Benedict, lobster & shrimp roll, and chicken & waffles. All were good but not very memorable in flavor. The drinks menu consists of alcoholic beverages and mocktails. Wish they had a bigger selection of caffeinated drinks for a brunch place. Overall a good choice for brunch with family and friends.

French dip 8/10, bread was a little bit on the dry side but the prime rib was so juicy and delicious. Don't forget the horse radish too! The aus jus was bomb! There is something reassuring about walking through the door already knowing what I am going to order--and knowing, with reasonable certainty, exactly how good it will be. The kitchen is remarkably consistent. The food is well prepared, ingredients are treated with care, and execution rarely seems to vary from one visit to the next. That kind of consistency is rare and much appreciated. The same can be said for the service. The staff are attentive, professional, and pleasantly unobtrusive. The restaurant itself is exceptionally well maintained and always impressively clean. One of my favorite things about Houston's, however, has nothing to do with the food: the acoustics. I can think of very few restaurants where I would rather sit down for a long conversation over dinner. Whoever designed the acoustic treatment knew exactly what they were doing. You can actually hear the people at your table without having to compete with the rest of the room--something that has become surprisingly rare in modern restaurants. There is a good selection of wines by the glass. Prices are certainly toward the higher end, but considering the quality of the food, service, surroundings, and above all the remarkable consistency, I find them justified. Dining at Houston's is something I genuinely look forward to, and after many visits it remains one of my favorite restaurants in Orange County. I would recommend it without hesitation --with one exception: I would choose somewhere else for a group larger than four. For two to four people, particularly when good food and good conversation are both important, Houston's is very hard to beat.

The parking lot is behind a pay gate, but you can get your ticket validated at the brewery. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, with a variety of table sizes, so it can easily accommodate large groups. We sat outside. The outside seating area sort of has a neat, firepit-type vibe. They have some overhead fans but it was still pretty hot outside (it was a heat wave). I bet it usually feels fine though. Thankfully my drink helped cool me down! I ordered the Coronado Brewing, which is described as superfruit acai cider. I loved it! I'm not a big drinker but I've always loved Angry Orchard cider, so if you're like me, you would probably like the Coronado too. It's a deep red colored cider and can come in a 16 or 20oz. It can get loud here, even outside. I found that my voice was a bit scratchy after I got home from the happy hour with all the loud talking, but that's probably to be expected anywhere you go!

U2 and Coldplay cover bands the night we were there. Lots of room to run around for little ones. Tables to sit at but apparently they paid $100 per table just to be able to sit at it; that seems a bit steep to me. I guess the perk of that was that you can order food and/or drinks via the barcode on the table and it'll be brought right out to you (vs standing in a long line at the bar). I will say, the food and beverages did come out very quickly! If you don't get a table, there is plenty of room to sit in beach chairs that you bring or even a blanket laid down.
