My favorite breakfast and lunch restaurant. Get the Benedict's. The hollandaise sauce is amazing! Not to mention mimosas!!!

We were in town for my sisters wedding, all went to breakfast before we left today. We waited an hour to sit down which was expected on a Sunday morning, what wasn't expected is that I would leave 1.5 hours later never eating any food. We placed our orders, after about 45 mins we were told "it's close" we all had egg dishes and one chicken and waffles. In our party of nine 6 people got their dishes, while watching my family eat, we were told they were working on ours. I'm not sure why it takes so long to fry some eggs. Finally after they were finished, we just wanted to leave, so we cancelled our orders. They comped our bill, but 3 of us didn't even eat. Sad to say I drove through Wendy's on the way out of town. read more

My husband and I visited this restaurant when it had only been open for a month or so and our experience left a lot to be desired. Firstly, when we arrived there was no one at the front to greet us as we entered. Once we were seated it took almost 5 minutes before any server acknowledged our presence in an almost empty dining room. The food was good but was a little cold when it arrived at our table. To top it off though was the serving staff on the setup area joking around with one another and making sounds of someone vomiting. I have no problem with having fun at your job but in the service industry you have to be careful and remember that sound travels especially in an almost empty dinning room. As per many other reviews here, our service was also sub-par. We were seated promptly, and greeted for our drink choices by our waitress. She came back eventually to take our food orders. We ordered an appetizer, which was delivered 5 min. before our meal arrived! We never saw her again until towards the end of our meal, when at that time she inquired about refills and dessert. Really? I think if she hadn't been kissing up to the large table across from us, we might not felt ignored. As for the food, it was a welcome taste compared to the processed taste we unfortunately get so used to at other places. We aren't from the area, so it may be some time before we come back, but if we choose Mimi's again, we'll go in with eyes open to so-so service. read more

When I walked in to this restaurant at the peak of dinner time there was no one there eating. This should have been a sign. While my sister and I were eating a big, black water bug came crawling across our table. We got the manager and she literally got a napkin, grabbed the bug and said " oh these bugs are coining from our pipes" and walked away. Needless to say. I was out of town with a group of friends for a wedding and we stopped at Mimi's for breakfast on our way home. It was a 2.5 hour process. The food was sub par, half of our meals were wrong, and the service took way too long. The waiters/waitresses had way too many tables and rarely came to our table to check on us. Awful experience. Waitress helped tables that came in way after. Then gave a real nasty response when asked for service after waiting for service for 20 minutes with CHILDREN. Appalling behavior. Mimi's has been very good every time I've been there. My partner had been there before I had, and he liked it very well, though I have to say it's probably the $5 wine that he likes best. I've had a burger, an omelet and a dinner, and all were good. The creme brulee cheesecake is very good, and I'm not a fan of cheesecake. The waiters are usually very good about honoring electronic coupons, but the last time our waiter forgot to deduct it, so do be sure to check that. The decor is inviting and the service is excellent. This restaurant is more of a glorified diner in my opinion. Service was pretty terrible from our waitress who forgot things constantly and the food was pretty bad. Not sure why so many reviews are saying the food is good? Maybe people have low expectations or bad taste. We got a half chicken with green beans and potatoes au gratin, how can you be a cook and not season your food? Did they run out of salt? Completely dry out the chicken etc. the list goes on to be honest. Thankfully the manager took off some of our meals but we will definitely never return for a meal. read more

Great food, incompetent staff. After the hostess seats in the farthest room devoid of human life, we were left there to rot. After hearing the waitress give us some excuse of our wait time due to her being already cut, we were given our drinks. Upon returning with the drinks, we took our waitress up on her offer for bread and butter. These are key elements you are going to need on your table if you're going to tough it out for the long haul. Unfortunately, she forgot all about that. Luckily I had my smartphone, which me and my girlfriend used to entertain ourselves as a form of distraction from the pangs of hunger we were experiencing for the 25 minutes it took for the food to get to us. I'm pretty sure the waitress did everything in her power to check on us as least as possible. The skills she possessed in shirking away from her duties must have taken years to practice. Our manager obviously trained her well, as they came from the same school of not caring. Pointing out that she as the manager didn't even apologize to us opened up a floodgate of excuses that washed me to the backside of the booth. Pointing out that 3 employees never gave a darn to ask us if we were ok sitting there with nothing awarded me with some partial sentences and mumbling before the leader of this fine establishment wrung her hands together and ran away like a school aged child. Although we were only one of three tables seated in the entire restaurant, it took at least a half hour for us to get our food. The server gave us free muffins to appease us. Yeah, that worked!!! Now I know why the parking lot was so empty on a Saturday night. read more

Worst service........ we come in with no one ahead of us. We have 5 plus a high chair. Hostess said all they had were booths and they can't put a high chair at the end...... perfectly okay. We wait another 15 minutes to still be seated at a booth.... 3 booths on our way had high chairs seated at them.... whatever. We wait 10 minutes to even see our waiter then he walks away without even taking our drink order another 5 minutes he takes our drink order.... 5 minutes goes by no drinks waiter has walked by us several times. We finally left.... 35 minutes with ZERO service. Wish I could give less stars read more

My husband and I went here about 1 pm on a Saturday. It was pretty clean and we were seated quickly. The waitress came after a few minutes, said she was tired and sat down next to me in the booth to take my order. While waiting for our food, my coffee cup sat empty for more than 15 minutes. We waited for our food for more than 45 minutes. I did notice that a lot of the other servers were a lot more attentive to their tables. Maybe it was just my server... The serving sizes were great. Better than expected. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. They did give each of us a complimentary muffin as it was our first time there. read more

Service was horrible. It all began with the hostess rolling her eyes at each person that came in to ask for a table. It took about 10 minutes for the waitress to even greet us to get our drink orders. She forgot to bring our appetizer, and I had to wait about 10 my minutes to get a spoon for my soup. Not really even sure if this deserves a star. My sister in law had bought a muffin as her son loves muffin for breakfast. She woke up next morning and prepared the muffin for her son. Unfortunately she cut it open and found a huge bug in the muffin. Not sure about going there again. read more

We had a horrible experience recently. We went last Thursday and the waitstaff was so slow. We waited 20 minutes before our waitress came back with our drinks. That should of been our red flag. We tried to order when she brought our drinks but she didn't have a pen.We then waited another 15 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our order. We could see her in the kitchen socializing the whole time. We repeatedly asked for bread and were never given any( even asking different waitstaff). She finally brought out my soup which was cold. My husband watched the cook text on his phone and then touch with his bare hands the waffles and put them on the plate then go back to texting. We went then and got the manager. The manager apologized and we left. We will never return, this is the third time we have had slow service when they are not busy. read more

To save yourself from reading this entire review - I can skip to the conclusion: I highly recommend canceling your trip to Mimi's and go directly to Peter D's. The food, the service and the atmosphere is unique and the prices are extremely reasonable. Mimi's failed to provide us with any service, and I cannot comment on the food. If you want details, here is my story about Mimi's: I cannot comment on the food at this particular location; however, I can comment on the lack of professionalism that we experienced at MiMi's Cafe in Murfreesboro. We had some family members in town and wanted to grab brunch the morning/afternoon that they were leaving. So, I called at 6:45am to get reservations for 11:30am that day. It was a Saturday morning, so I was excited when somebody answered because they do not open until 7am. When I told her that we had a party of 18-20, the young girl (I'm guessing her age because of her slang and obvious immaturity) stated that there was no way that "she" could accommodate a party that size unless we called "the day before". I tried to be reasonable, so I explained that we did not need to be at one huge table. I asked if she could get us onto 4-5 tables that are "close to one another". She emphatically stated that it was impossible for her to coordinate that. So, recognizing the immaturity and lack of real-world problem-solving skills of this young lady, I asked to speak to a manager who might be able to discuss options, she said that the manager was unable to speak to me. I said, "Okay, well...I'm trying to bring your restaurant a good amount of business today, so can you please ask before we get off the phone?" She didn't say yes, but I heard the phone drop...there was an inconsistent rumbling, shuffling sound for a minute and then she came back and said, "Mimi's Cafe, how can I help you?" This little girl apparently tried to hang up on me and then came back thinking somebody new was on hold. I said, "Yes ma'am, I was holding for a manager to try to accommodate our large party." She abruptly stated, "My manager said that the only way we could serve you today is with individual tables or you can come in together to ask for a table for 20." I replied, "Do you know how long the wait would be?" Her answer was, "Probably 2 hours!" Then, there was a "click". Needless to say, I scoured the internet for another location and found "Peter D's". They eagerly made a reservation for us - 2 long tables just inside - and accommodated us magnificently. So, if you have a large party, I HIGHLY recommend skipping Mimi's and going straight to Peter D's. The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Mimi's is on our "Do Not Visit" list. read more

My husband and our toddler wanted to get brunch after church on a sunday. We got there at 10am. There was a bit of a wait of course, but after being seated and running out of ways to entertain our girl we realized we've been there an hour and hadn't even ordered our food yet. The woman running the front desk had to take our orders and bring our drinks. A different woman eventually brought our food but by that time our daughter was so cranky I had to take her to the car while my husband took care of the bill. Her meal was missing the side dish but we didn't want to wait another 15-20 minutes just for some fruit. They didn't even give him a bag to carry the 3 meals and 2 drinks out, the man bussing tables had to get it for him. Mimi's has good food and usually semi-quick sevice but even for a sunday morning rush, this was inexcusable. I'm eating my microwave reheated food as I write this. We won't be going back. read more

We expected it to be busy since it's the holiday season, and so close to Christmas, but I felt like the service wasn't that great. We arrived at 12, didn't sit until 12:30, ordered at 1, didn't get our food until well last 2:00. The food was alright, but my French dip sandwich was soggy and not that warm, my friends club sandwich barely had any meat on it (it was mostly bread), and my sister never got her salad. The waitress barely came to us during us waiting for food and during eating, but stood at our table waiting for us to get our cards out and pay. We were rushed to pay, but they didn't rush with our food. I'm sure the service would be better if it hadn't been so busy, but they need to reconfigure the waitresses and how many tables they need to tend to at once. Tried their meatloaf yesterday and it was fantastic. Nice crust on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside.

Food is ok. But they make people wait 20 minutes when they multiple open booths on a Sunday lunch time.

We ate at this place last week and they had great food and good customer service. We will be back for sure!

General manager has called me back and apologized profusely. I gather from our conversation that at least the waitress may be fired and he is re-training and talking to some of the staff from that evening. He has also offered my husband and I two free dinners. read more

I was really excited to try Mimi's for the first time after looking at the menu online. We ordered to-go, and the banana oatmeal had no bananas, brown sugar, strawberries, pecans, etc. that the menu says it is supposed to come with. My boyfriend went back to get his order fixed after leaving the restaurant. They gave him the ingredients in separate containers. When he got home, I noticed that the omelet I had ordered did not have any potatoes on the side. The omelet was mediocre, and the coffee tasted like Folgers. Really disappointed paying $22 for awful service and subpar food. read more

I ordered a steak, medium. It was tough to cut and flavorless. I had iced tea, which I take with lemon and sweetener. I was given lemon in my first glass, but no spoon. What does Amy Vanderbilt say to stir with when there is no spoon? I had to lick my fork and use it. Seems rather gauche for an upscale restaurant. Comparatively, I ate at Chop House the next day. They provide knife, fork and appropriate spoon (short handled for coffee, long for iced tea. Back to Mimi's: I emptied my tea half way through the meal, didn't see my waitress again until the end of the meal at which time she brought me (at request) another glass of tea, sans lemon. Why is it that wait persons can be so unobservant. If there is lemon in the first glass, isn't it likely the customer would like lemon in the second glass, however slow the second glass is in coming? Sitting here currently with a group of 13. After waiting to be sat it has taken 20 minutes to get waters on the table and we are still waiting on our bar drinks. They've been sitting at the end of the bar for 10+ minutes. Clearly no team work or management present at this location. I hate to think how thing it will take to get our food and checks at the end.
