I went in today and wasn't sure what i wanted but decided for the Rueben. I am gluten sensitive so they put it on gluten free bread, which is very nice when you normally don't get to eat a sandwich most places! The cashier taking my order was very helpful and patient with me. There are many more sandwiches i would like to try.. so the muffaletta is next since they serve gluten free bread. read more

Is a good old fashion Reuben... and I have had a a very hard time trying to find a place that I can call my Ruben heaven... And ladies and gents.... I think I found it!!!! The Reuben which is top round corned beef with old-fashioned Kraut smeared with their own money making homemade signature sauce the beautiful magical Russian sauce!!!! Wow! It is served at the perfect temperature which is a must for a traditional Reuben... The perfectly beautifully toasted marble rye bread with Kraut and corned beef in are magical.... When u taste it with that sauce. Inside is clean, people are friendly, food is really solid - the process is just not smooth. Ordered the Mimi's cheese steak (tasted great and the bread was phenomenal) and the Italian panini (also pretty good) that came out in a reasonable amount of time. The issue was they completely did not bring out the grilled cheese for the six year old with us for 25 minutes after the other food came out. The young lady who took our order told us it was on the grill and would be ready to go in two minutes so I went and stood over the counter and looked straight at the grill and guess what no grilled cheese. After being asked to sit down 3 times and being apologized to "because our main cook isn't here" they finally managed the put the simplest item on the grill. They seemed friendly just not at all organized. In the words of the south "bless their hearts." Will probably order takeout next time and pray the order is right the first time. read more

Mimi's Deli is a great little secret in Hixson. Sandwiches are delicious and the onion rings are amazing. My go to is the chicken salad sandwich which I would always order on a hoagie (they actually served it on a hotdog bun once) but I realized if you order it on the honey wheat bread, you get A LOT more chicken. Their chicken salad reminds me of Gollywhoppers and since that restaurant is no more, this is a definite treat. During lunch times the place can get crowded, but food is typically served quickly so tables free up often. There is parking in front and in the back of the store along with new outdoor seating that I'm sure would be great as soon as the weather warms up. read more

I got the fried bologna sandwich and chips. It was really good! In fact, I don't remember ever having anything bad here. My only criticism is the restaurant seats north of 80 people, plus a sizable waiting area and folks in line, and there is only one unisex bathroom. I nearly peed my pants waiting on the one unisex bathroom! I drank entirely too much water for there to be only one unisex bathroom! My advice; go before it's dire, order the special, and enjoy! read more

The sweetie, baby girl and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after hitting the gym (I know, way to counteract the workout we'd just done!) and were surprised how tasty our food was. Don't get me wrong, the cheesesteaks weren't as delicious as the ones I've had in PA, but they were certainly good by Chattanooga standards. And the French fries were even better-- you could definitely tell they had just been cut and straight out of the grease when they were delivered to us! The only way to eat fried food! The interior of the restaurant is nothing special, but there was plenty of seating and high chairs available (a feature that has only recently made my list of important items now that baby girl needs one! ) We were also impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Mimi's is one of the best family owned and operated business in the Hixson, chattanooga area. With a wide and diverse menu this restaurant is the perfect lunch or dinner spot! I got the classic hamburger and it was the best burger I have ever had anywhere! It is located very close to north gate mall, and a short drive to East brained area and downtown. There food is absolutely wonderful and the service is great. All servers all wearing masks due to COVID 19. The tables are spaced appropriately so they apply to social distancing. All in all this is a wonderful restaurant and I would go back in a heartbeat!! read more

There was only one table open when we arrived. You place your order at the counter, get a number and your drink cup. Several drinks to choose from. The only thing about it being our first visit, we didn't know and were not told to grab a bag of chips with our sandwich. No problem because we would not haven eaten them anyway. But, a heads up when you go there. I ordered the Panini Muffaletta and hub ordered the Ruben. They were both great!! Tea was tasty. Noise level minimal. Clean everywhere. I will be honest, I visited this place a week ago for the first time and the food is really good. However, I did notice a can sitting on the counter that was collecting money for Mckamey Animal Shelter. I don't feel like I will be supporting a local business that supports a shelter that is such a high kill shelter. Get rid of the can and if you want to support a shelter, replace it with Humane Society's can, a shelter that is caring, and does everything they can to save animals.
