    Italian Combo Sandwich

Jumping Jack sandwich toasted on wheat.

If you're looking for the best sandwich in the area, look no further. The freshest ingredients. Great service. The ambiance is a NYC deli experience in Hixson TN. Nick is New York authentic and he really makes the sandwiches! My personal favorite is their Jumping Jack, which is turkey and cheese with their amazing homemade salsa. I get it toasted on wheat bread. Featuring Boar's Head meat, it's difficult to beat. Their soups are also delicacies. Their chili in the winter is always a go to. Locally owned. Locally operated. This place had never let me down in 20 years of visits. I'm happy to recommend it! Tell Nick that Ken sent you and get the "Jack on Wheat"... you're welcome.

We have been wanting to try this deli for a while. Finally we caught on a day ( time) not busy. I expected an actual deli, disappointed that they pretty much only had a selection of Boars head that they use to make sandwiches. I will say our sandwiches were really good. I had the Italian combo and my husband the muffuletta. The biggest difference in the two sandwiches was the olives. So here is why Only 2 stars and the reason I would never go back. We happened to be the only customers at the time, staff friendly and courteous, sandwiches made and fresh. We go to sit down and eat and start looking around and the place was filthy. The floor, tables and they have shelving systems in the building that look like they haven't been touched in years. I thought OMG what must the kitchen look like. From then on, I couldn't finish eating as I couldn't get over the filth. We got up to leave and my husband said he needed to use the restroom, when he came out, he said " if you need to go, your better off going to a gas station " Unfortunately the food was good, but I couldn't not get over the dirt and filth. Just to clarify this was not a mess after a rush hour, this was long term cleanliness neglect. Proceed with caution.

Located on the corner of Hixson Pike and Austin, the green awning is easy to spot. There's also a traffic light there to make leaving easier if you're going left. Nick's is on the end of the strip mall, so there is parking on two sides. Parking is adjacent to the building and can fill up quickly. There is one handicapped space near the door. We called in our order and were told it would be ready in 10 minutes. It took about 10 minutes for me to get there during the lunch rush. There is a small counter beside the door when you walk in, but I was greeted by the person working the back counter. It looks like that is the main ordering area. There is ample seating with enough space between the tables to avoid walking over everyone. My order was already waiting, and the transaction was quick and pleasant. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The sandwiches were well wrapped and each included a pickle. The pickle was wrapped in such a way the juice did not run into the sandwich, a very nice touch. The Reuben was everything you could expect. Plenty of meat and sauerkraut, with Swiss cheese and enough dressing to add flavor without dripping out while you eat. One of the better Reubens I have had. The Pomodori was almost as good (in my opinion) with a lot of meat and veggies and very flavorful. My dining partner was more than pleased. The pasta salad was nothing special but did add a nice compliment to the Reuben. Nick's has definitely earned a spot in the sandwich rotation. Quick and friendly service with top quality food is hard to beat.

Best sandwich shop in town! The bread is amazing, perfect flavor. Portions are large. Soups are made fresh everyday and taste like your mom's homemade soup. Overall very homey vibe inside. You're missing out big time if you don't stop by.

Great sandwich place in Hixson. Created my own sandwich and got turkey on sourdough. Great and fast service. The place itself felt really family ran and local comforts.

Make your own sandwich with cracked pepper turkey and pepper jack. No tomatoes and no mustard but with onions, lettuce, and mayo.

Who I believe to be the owner was very nice. Made my sandwich very quickly. I like the price point. I did the make your own sandwich with cracked pepper turkey nd pepper jack on white. The Sandwich is cold but the bread is pressed which makes it really come together. All make your own sandwiches comes with mayo, tomato, onions, lettuce, and mustard. It was just so good I can't wait to come back. Wide selection of drinks and chips. Diverse menu. The inside is spacious and takes you back in time. My sandwich tasted so good and fresh!

I did Edward's Point and Signal Mountain on a super hot morning hike and decided I had earned a huge sandwich and some pimento cheese so, I snuck in about 25 minutes before closing to get a sandwich to go. Staff were SO nice and welcoming. Telling me there was no rush, I could sit and eat, etc. I spoke to the charming Chris, who went over the entire menu with me and offered for me to sample a few of their pasta salads and pimento and made suggestions. He was the biggest sweetheart. In the end, they didn't have the daily special chopped Italian I'd seen so, I went with a turkey and cheese with pimento to go and some sweet tea. At checkout, another friendly and lovable female staffer was totally charming. My sandwich was HUGE and the pimento cheese was some of the best I've ever had! And, your girl is from the South so, I've had a metric ton of pimento in my life. I really like the location and the vibes inside. Local's gem. And the staff, A+++++

If you aren't sure how the establishment works, you can select your bread, sandwich type and then select what you want on your sandwich (onion, lettuce, pickles, tomato). They have an option where you try it "Mike's way" which means all of the "fixins" and then oils on top. I personally don't like oil and vinegar on my sandwiches but from those who have tried it- I hear it is good. The nice thing about Jersey Mike's is they slice the cheeses and meats in front of you. They have three sizes (Mini, regular and giant). The mini seems like a great size for kids. Regular would be equivalent to around a 6 inch and giant is what it sounds...giant. We have never dined in, but they do have a fair amount of seating options. We stopped in there on a Sunday around 1pm and it was packed. One thing that was chaotic were the number of online orders. They seemed to have a hard time keeping up with the online orders and the costumers in line. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich that involved using the grill which took up a lot of time. So, if you order deli meats that don't involve using a grill, it should be pretty quick service. If not, you will have to wait a while. The staff are all nice and willing to answer any questions you might after. There was a guy next to me that spilled his soda all over the floor and they were quick to clean it up. I found the location to be very clean. Overall, good sandwich place!

I needed something quick, light, and close to our company office in Chattanooga. The ratings were strong, the reviews looked promising, and frankly when you call yourself Heaven, expectations go up fast. I'm not asking for miracles... but a great sandwich would be a nice start. First clue something was... developing... was the sign. Still a banner out front. Which usually means one of two things: 1. Brand new and figuring things out. 2. Someone lost a bet with a printing company. Inside felt like a sandwich shop that's been around for decades. Worn floors, chalkboards tossed up on the wall like they lost a game of darts, and the menu scribbled across them in chalk. Not charming-chaotic. More like... chaotic-chaotic. No problem. I'm here for the sandwich. I ordered the #1, because when a place names a sandwich after itself, that's usually the mic drop item. The "Heaven Classic." If you're going to plant your flag, plant it on the best hill. It came out fast. Very fast. Suspiciously fast. I brought it back to the office, opened it up, took a bite... and immediately felt like I'd been transported to the deli aisle of a gas station. "If this sandwich were any more average, it would come with an Oscar Mayer jingle." The bread was actually pretty good. Nice texture, solid foundation. But the filling? It felt like someone stopped at a convenience store, grabbed a pack of cold cuts, and said, "Yep... this'll do." Now here's where the plot twist comes in. Afterward I started digging through the reviews because the disconnect was wild. People were raving about this place. Five stars everywhere. I'm thinking, "Did I walk into the wrong universe?" Turns out... most of those reviews are for Steamboat. Looks like the place changed names sometime late last year. Same location, new name, very different experience. So the glowing reputation may belong to a former tenant. Which leads to my final thought... If this is Heaven, I'd hate to see the alternative. I'm landing at three stars, mostly because I'm feeling generous today and the bread deserved better than the situation it was put in. Would I go back? Probably not. Chattanooga has way too many great sandwich spots to gamble on purgatory again.
