Since we had a little time, we decided to stop at Walmart first to grab a few things before picking up the order. When we finally arrived, we let them know we were there to pick up. The two girls at the register looked at me and my friend like they had no idea where our order was. After I showed them the order confirmation, they suddenly realized and said, "Oh, it's the big order." Then, instead of resolving it right away, they told us that someone else had already taken our order because they gave it to the wrong person. What really frustrated me was their reaction; they just stood there looking at us like, "Okay... what do you want us to do?" Eventually, they asked if we wanted them to remake it. Of course I said yes, we had already paid for it. We ended up waiting even longer while they remade the entire order, which completely defeated the purpose of ordering ahead. What's worse is that they never called or gave us any kind of heads-up about the mistake. If they knew the order had been given away, why not contact us right away? That way, we would have known when to come, or at least they could have started remaking it immediately. On top of all that, we were not compensated in any way; no apology beyond the bare minimum, no discount, nothing for the inconvenience and extra time we had to wait due to their mistake. It just doesn't make sense that they waited until we showed up, confused and looking for our food, before deciding to fix their mistake. The lack of communication, urgency, and accountability made an already frustrating situation even worse.

The post dismissed legitimate safety concerns, minimized weather conditions, and showed zero empathy for employees who may not have safe transportation or the ability to risk icy roads. Leadership isn't about shaming people for caring about workers -- it's about taking responsibility for them. Customers absolutely have the right to decide where their money goes based on a business owner's values. After reading that post, I'm choosing to support businesses that treat their employees with respect and take safety seriously. There are plenty of restaurants that manage to stay open without belittling people or putting profit over people. This is not one of them.
