Found a groupon for this place and it's pretty close to home, so I decided to give it a try. I usually schlep 40 minutes to Palisades Park, but had a wedding to go to, and decided on Mimo last minute. Obviously, parking wasn't fun. It's Hoboken. On my fill-in visit, (included in the groupon) I realized I could pay to park in the hospital lot around the corner. The girl at the front desk was nice enough, and even ran to put quarters in the meter when my first appointment ran longer than expected. The technician was nice, although a tad slower than I'd like, but I guess she pays attention to detail! The first visit was almost 2 hours, as compared to an hour and 15 at my usual place. Also, this experience was a tad more uncomfortable than my previous lash experiences. Not necessarily painful, but I felt the lashes kind of stabbing my lids, which I haven't previously experienced. The only thing I really didn't enjoy was the neck roll they use. It's one of those travel neck pillows. Not even ten minutes in, my neck started to stiffen up and I got a headache. I thought maybe it was just that certain day, but it also happened on the day of my refill. I'd probably go back in a pinch, because it's so close to home. read more

I bought a Groupon and got my lash extensions a week ago. The appointment went well and I was there for about 45 minutes. After about 3 days, I noticed several of the extensions were falling off all at once (not even the natural lash just the extension) by one week I had about 1/4 of the lash extensions I started with. I've gotten extensions elsewhere that have lasted me weeks even after going in the ocean so I knew this seemed off. I called Mimo and asked if they would give me a new set or refill them. The woman on the phone hardly understood what I was saying and said she would have the manager call me. When I got on the phone with Robert, I explained that the extensions were popping off and that I hadn't done anything like rub my eyes or wash my face roughly. Robert insisted that the fallout must be my fault from washing my face or putting on my clothes too roughly (also a weird thing to suggest) I was appalled that an owner would suggest a customer was the cause of an issue with their product. He told me that they absolutely could not give me a new set of lashes and that I would need to come in and pay (!!) for a refill + another tip for the person doing them. I told him that was unacceptable to me and seemed unfair that their faulty service/product meant that I needed to pay for an entirely new set just a week later. Robert offered $10 off the refill but still insisted I needed to pay and that it must have been my fault the lashes did not stay on. Needless to say I will not be returning to Mimo and friends who have heard about my terrible experience are hesitant to go there as well. Instead of making sure that the customer service experience Mimo and Robert create is top notch, they were more concerned with losing the dollar amount of a new set of lashes (which I would have been happy to tip for) now they'll be losing years of business from not only myself but others that hear how they treated me. read more

I got my lashes done for the first time here and I absolutely love them! The atmosphere was very relaxing and the woman who worked on my lashes was fantastic as well as the other workers there. I wish I got her name for when I go back for a refill. Definitely recommend. read more

Be careful. I went here for many months but they are inconsistent. Is every cheap and heavy lashes which eventually ripped and pulled out my natural lashes. They also use cheap glue that actually makes my nose burn & dismiss you when you ask for specific things. I will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I had extensions done a few months ago and the experience was very relaxing. Also my lashes lasted a full month and even 3 months later I was still finding little lashes coming out . I was not impressed. I had to wait 15 minutes for my appointment. They were very nice, and the place was cute and clean. However, the quality of the work was not good. The lashes are glued to my eyelid and not my lashes. There is so much glue that it is actually coming off in my lashes looking like dander. Because the lashes were glued to my lid and not my lashes, they were uncomfortable and irritating for a good four days. I am not new to lash extensions, but I thought I'd try this place since I live in town. I bought a groupon for a full set and a fill. I will not be going back for the fill. read more

Great customer service. Went in for a new set, a refill, and a removal. Although the first set came off quickly, they were more than helpful in fixing it free of charge. The refill lasted me so long I actually had to go in for a removal (which I never do)! The man in front (Zio) was kind enough to squeeze me in for my first set and for the removal. This place is very misleading. I originally purchased a Groupon and booked my appointment with Claire. She did an AMAZING job and I got a lot of compliments on my lashes, so I was hooked. I went back after two weeks to get my refills and didn't think to ask for Claire, because I had assumed anyone working there would be great. I was wrong. My second experience was a complete 180 from my first visit. The salon was so crowded, it felt more like a nail salon on a Saturday than a relaxing spa-like experience (for reference, the first time I went was on a Tuesday at 1:00pm, the second was on a Friday at 3:00pm). I can get over the crowd and craziness, just something to point out since it was far less relaxing and harder for me to try and zen out for an hour with my eyes closed when there was constantly people who worked there and customers brushing by me. The person I had for my refill was Sophie (or Sophia?) and while she was a very nice person, she was pretty terrible at the application of the lashes. It felt like she kept stabbing me in the eyelid with the lashes and I kept trying to let her know, but nothing changed - the entire time. It was honestly stressful and just an overall bad experience. I kept hoping that for all the pain it was causing, I would at least walk out looking good like the first time, but no. She glued some lashes on backwards and glued one onto my inner eyelid! So painful. I tried explaining to the girl at the front desk, but she didn't seem to care. Also, and maybe more importantly, the lashes I got in my refill felt completely different than the first application. The first time I barely noticed they were on my eyes, they were nice and kind of soft and looked really natural. The second they felt MUCH stiffer, almost like plastic and felt heavier on my eyes. They must only give you the mink ones on the first application and hope you don't notice the change out when you go back. The lashes the second time were falling out that same night and I hadn't touched them (since I showered before I went to avoid having to get water on my face). By day 3 after the refill there were noticeable gaps on my one eyelid and it looked horrible. I'm honestly pretty upset with their business, and after talking to two other customers I learned they had a very similar experience - you get the great girl and lashes the first time, but then for refills you get someone who does not do nearly as good of a job. read more

Fantastic discount for the first time and then a discount for retouch packages. They have a very easy guide that illustrates the different lashes that they offer. First time customer but not my first time wearing lashes. I used a Groupon...Very nice establishment and I had Hannah as my lash expert. I got them done this Tuesday and shortly after I left a few of the lashes started falling out. I had a very pleasant experience with the Salon but Im not pleased with my lashes, it has only been 2 days later and I've lost so many lashes. I cant recommend this place bc the lashes don't stay on. Terrible experience here. When I first came in, I explained to the staff that I wanted my lashes to be noticeable and not natural because I had an important event coming up. I even showed them pictures of how I've had them before and even said I wanted more volume than the pictures. I get taken to the back and after *45* minutes, the lady told me she was done. Since when does a full set only take 45 minutes ? They were horrible. So small and thinner out. I could have had a better result with just mascara. So I told the manager I wasn't happy and I wanted more volume. She took me to another lady who added longer lashes but it still was not what I wanted at all. In the end I ended up paying 175 for very a very subpar experience. This place feels like they just want to take your money without great results. Very disappointed. read more

I have been wanting lash extensions for a while now. I watched many YouTube videos (some good, many bad) to see other peoples experience with them. My roommate has been getting her lashes done here for about year so I decided to give it a try. I was super nervous because my eyes started stinging during the procedure (apparently this is normal). When the technician was finished, I looked in the mirror and my eyes were completely bloodshot. I was like "uh, is this normal?" But apparently it is and my eyes cleared up short after my visit. I bought a groupon for a full set here because it was a good deal and I didn't feel like going into the city. The appointment took about 45 minutes and the lashes looked great after. This was my first time here but I've had lash extensions for a full year (continuously being filled and refilled) so I'm not new to this. I left a $10 tip since it was my first time and I had no clue how the lashes would hold up. The man at the front desk made it so uncomfortable that I will never return - he followed me out the door saying that my tip was not enough and that I should tip more. Incredibly rude and insulting. To top it off I'm on day 8 and 75% of the lashes have fallen off and they just look terrible. I will not be returning here and would not recommend to a friend or foe. read more

When I first visited MIMO I had my hesitations as I haven't had the best luck with lash technicians in the past. I wanted full, thick, dark lashes but there's a fine line between thick, long full lashes & overly dramatic lashes so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was recommended to JESS & it's been a happily ever after. I'd recommend anyone & everyone to go for the mink lashes as they appear so much fuller & also last at least an extra week longer. During my first visit, I got regular lashes & they lasted a good 2 weeks. The service has also been top-notch. I have stopped by for a quick fill, to fix some slight gaps in between lash hairs & have also scheduled many spontaneous appointments, all which have been accommodated with ease. They have a quick text service so it's extremely easy to schedule appointments & ask questions. I'm addicted, I feel like I should let my own natural lashes breathe for a bit, but I'm so obsessed with the way the full lashes look that I keep going back for more. Also, they're pretty quick. I'm usually in/out in about 45 minutes. That's pretty impressive considering they do a great job! read more
