This place is hands down the best for eyebrow threading- I have 20+ years of eyebrow threading experience and can spot a good brow from a mile. I went for the first time today about 30 minutes before they closed and the service was outstanding. The woman who fixed my brows and threaded them into shape did such an amazing job despite the fact that my brows were botched and overgrown due to a prior threader who took off too much hair last time. Mystique 2 is definitely the best threading service in Hoboken- I went to Dreamz last time and the lady there chops your brow and then says you need to tint your eyebrows to cover the gaps. Do not get your eyebrows done here, extremely rushed and sloppy job. She made my eyebrows very uneven and did not even clean up all the hairs. Not only that but thinner than I wanted and very high up . If I'm paying for a service at least get all the hairs off instead of rushing as fast as you can leading to them being uneven and not even shaped at the top. read more

Not a bad place for eyebrow threading if you're in need of a session. Mystique Beauty is actually located on 4th street (despite it being listed as Washington Street). The outside looks unassuming but the inside looks pretty modern, and most importantly - clean. I was about to get some passport photos done so I needed a quick clean-up for my brows. They came out pretty okay. If I had the choice, there are a few spots in NYC I would pick over this but I'm not about to trek all the way out to the city just for that. One piece of feedback - it would be nice if they wore gloves. Yes, hand sanitizer is used but I would just feel better being threaded by gloved hands in Covid times. read more

The first few times I came here, I was pretty satisfied with the results; one time, however, they took off a bit too much, leaving me a little unhappy. I laid off the threading for a few months to allow my eyebrows to grow back. Today, I decided to give this place another chance. I asked the lady to only clean them up a bit. She showed me the first eyebrow; it was just as I wanted. When she gave me the mirror after she was finished with the second eyebrow, I was stunned- big 'ole bald spot in the middle of my brow! She scurried off to her wax appointment in the other room, so I had to sit there and wait to get any explanation from her. She claimed that I had no hair in that spot to begin with. I'm very disappointed. I came here to get my eyebrows & lip threaded and they barely took any hair off my face. Also charged me an arm and leg for threading, I paid $16 plus tip and look the same as I did before. She told me that my hair is too light but I've been getting my brows threaded since threading became a thing so that's a BS excuse. You would think being voted best in Hoboken they would be able to perform services on everyone not just people with dark hair. Moral of the story if you have blonde hair they aren't able to properly thread your eyebrows, like every other salon on the planet can. Also, I didn't notice it until I got back to work and was in normal lighting. Maybe the owner should invest in brighter lighting so your girls don't work in the dark.......AT A BEAUTY PARLOR. I've been going there for my eyebrows (threading) for years and everything was fine. Today I went for a wax service (underarms, lower legs and bikini) because my usual salon was closed, and that was not a good experience. They're using the same wax and technique for all zones which is not best practice. I'm okay with the stripe to remove wax on legs but it doesn't work on the underarms and even less for the bikini. Also, the person was in a rush and didn't remove all my hairs. I had to check several times and tell her and when I came back home, I found more. She also left so much wax on me, I had to scrub and shower when back home. The bikini part is the worst and right now, 30 minutes after, I really hope my skin is reacting to the "trauma" and that it is not an allergic reaction. I always put lotion on after a wax service, to relax the skin but this time, it's been so painful, as if it is burnt. I generally don't write reviews and I will go back there for threading my eyebrows but I will definitely not going back there for wax services, even if that means having to go to the city when my salon in Hoboken is closed. I hardly swallow the almost $100 paid for a service not properly done and physical injury. read more
