    Baklava & Chai Tea Latte

Great local restaurant near the Minnesota State Fair grounds. The prices are very reasonable with generous portion sizes. The restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside or even from the front entrance. There is another two rooms of seating available around the corner from the counter that you order at. The staff is incredibly friendly and quick service! Very much worth a visit just for a drink and a delicious piece of baklava!

I visited on a Thursday afternoon during lunch hour, and waited in line for 20 minutes to order, then another 10 minutes for the food. I ordered the small beef kabob plate and it was alright. Beef got cold super fast and was too chewy for my taste. The pickled salad on the side was great tho! It balances out the meal. There's a good amount of seating that fits 10 small parties!

Had to check this spot out! I ordered the lamb kebab sandwich, which was pretty good--nice flavor and juicy without being too dry. Prices were fair, and the service was great. It's a family-owned business, and you can really feel the care they put in. The ambiance was just okay when I went, but I imagine it would feel more lively with a few more people around.

Best food in the twin cities, possibly the entire country. Never disappoints. Great staff and atmosphere as well. Good place to study or do work. Very affordable if you are also a student.

A coworker at the U recommended this spot, and I absolutely loved it! The perfect lunch spot if you're looking for delicious food, and something different than what the fast casual places have to offer. A quaint, small business tucked into what seemed to be a mostly residential area. You can tell it's run by a family and the service was incredibly friendly, answered my questions about the menu, and prepared the food quickly! I ended up getting the beef burrito: a yummy combination of shawarma beef, rice, hummus, onions, and green peppers. A hearty serving that left me satisfied for the whole afternoon, although it was a bit messy to eat in my car :) This will be my go-to lunch spot when I'm in the area! I'm excited to try out other items on the menu.

Great spot for Mediterranean food at a good price- perfect for college students! I went once during college, but never ventured back because most of my classes were on the Minneapolis campus of UMN but recently went back for dinner with a friend, and I wished I had gone more often! I got a lamb and beef shawarma platter with rice and hummus, and the small plate was perfect size for dinner. You get some pita bread with your plate and the flavors were great. Service was also friendly, and there's indoor and outdoor seating available. Only street parking is available since you are on campus (the St Paul Student Center is basically across the street), but it wasn't too hard to find parking on a Monday night.

From the outside, Mim's is easy to overlook, but the welcoming service and delicious food absolutely speaks for its self. The restaurant is family owned and feels like home when you enter. The waiters, cooks, and owners greeted us with a smile, and the food was served within 5-10 minutes. The food, which is a mix of both Mediterranean and American classics, was delicious. I shared the veggie combo (rice, baba ghanouj, salad, falafel, veggies, and pita) and a veggie burrito. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options that are both healthy and tasty. Although I enjoy Mim's for dinner, this is a great casual lunch spot for college students and professors! Highly recommend stopping by!

Really great. Very good price. I asked for traditional mid east foods. And it was really nice. Shawarma was very delicious.

Service 5/5: overall the staff was efficient and friendly Ambiance 5/5: the vaulted ceilings yet cozy aesthetic makes this place very visually pleasing. The service was wonderful! Everyone was so nice! When my boyfriend tried his drink, it just didn't taste right (iced vanilla latte with 4 shots of espresso) They remade it and were very apologetic! The drinks: I got an iced grandmas house with oat milk! There is no up charge for oatmilk! My wallet and stomach appreciated that! The flavor was really good! Unfortunately even with the remake, there seemed to be something off about my boyfriend's drink... I asked for them to take the vanilla out, thinking maybe be it was the syrup. But it just wasn't good. We were also hoping to get the pizza that was there but they only had slices, not a full pie. It was disappointing. Overall this is a nice coffee shop

It's definitely a spot for East Africans to hang out, and very reminiscent of back home. Service is great, usually the family working plus a few people. The coffee, food, and ambience combined make me feel like I'm back home, and I think that's what the owner was going for with this one. Soccer games are watched en masse here, pool in the back and plenty of parking. Good beer selections and honestly just a solid spot to hang with your people for an affordable price.

Don't try to order anything from here online, because I don't think they accept online orders. We came because it's one of only 8 places in the Twin Cities where you can get foule (sometimes spelled "ful" and sometimes augmented with the word "medames"), a fava bean dish served with baguette. The foule ($10.50) can be made vegan if you omit the sour cream. Make sure to ask questions because the menu doesn't state any of the ingredients. This dish tasted good, albeit akin to refried beans with toasty baguette. That said, I liked it. The miser wat ($12) and ater kik ($12) are both vegan by default and tasted good. They were light, fresh and understated, but somehow still didn't wow me. But I liked them, don't get me wrong. We also had an Americano ($3) which was strong and tasty. I like Snelling Cafe. It's a throwback to the pre-internet era and a solid spot for Ethiopian food. I would rank it near the top, along with Agelgil in St. Paul and Katar River in Minneapolis. Fasika and Bole, in my opinion, have both declined in quality and are overrated.

Inside atmosphere has great vibes and great energy. There is a lot going on in a small space. Service and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Order: Thai tea. Delicious. Just like you would want and expect. Macha latte cold. Great flavor. Nice balance of flavor. Not too sweet. Scallion danish. Probably my favorite bite. Crispy and airy texture with good flavor. Just the smell alone had my taste buds dancing. Sesame balls. Nice crispy exterior with chewy soft inside. The star of the dish was the creamy caramel sauce... it was perfect. Thai tea French toast. Worth the hype and the calories. Perfect crisp exterior with flavorful soft chewy interior. Definitely a destination dish. Hmong sausage with added egg. Delicious flavor in the sausage. Egg was perfectly cooked with runny yolk. The dish definitely needed the homemade house sweet and sour sauce that had hints of lemongrass. Overall dish was good to try for the first time. Chicken noodle soup. Winner winner chicken dinner. Just a delicious bowl of food. Great flavors and textures and chew from the noodles. The stars of the dish were the rich broth and the crispy chicken skin. Definitely would order again. Pan fried bean thread noodles with added crispy chicken. Great balance of flavors with a nice hint of spice. Another definite order again dish. Overall: Great experience and lived up to the hype. The food was delicious but sometimes getting a table or reservation can be challenging. The Protip is to just get the pastries to go. They were all extraordinary and worth every calorie!

We had a lunch reservation for over a month since dinner reservations were months out. We were seated right away but the tables were more cafe style and very tight. We could hear conversations from our table neighbors. I ordered the beef salad (now switched to shrimp maybe), she ordered the sweet pork. We wanted a coconut pandan croissant, but they were sold out so we settled on a shared almond croissant. The croissant was great. The beef salad had a laab seasoning intent but there was just so so much more salad and very few slices of beef. The sweet pork and the papaya salad was mid but tasted more Thai style. Maybe their dinner menu is better. In the meantime, try Hmong village for slightly better parking and more authentic Hmong food options with half of the cost.
