    Salmon Kiss
    Christina Q.

Located inside the H-Mart, Min Sushi is one of 5 stalls in the food court. Wanted a bite to eat before grocery shopping, the Salmon Kiss and Tuna Love maki rolls hit the spot. At 15.00 per roll, its not bad for the price considering the rolls are massive. Ingredients are pretty fresh but I am disappointed that he salmon kiss filling was a crab mixture and not actual salmon.

This place has lots of potential. Min Sushi locates in the Foodcourt inside H Mart. Currently it is the only restaurant opens and the rest are under renovation. There are choices of sushi, maki, cooked food, soup noodles. The price is on the higher side. We ordered a Hue Dup Bap (korean seafood bowl), pork cutlet, seafood Udon. Service was pretty slow and we waited for awhile to get our food. Hue dup bap came with a big bowl of chopped fish, lettuce, rice and spicy sauce which you can adjust the amount of spiciness. Fish was fresh and in generous portion. This was the best among the food we ordered. Pork cutlet came with very small portion of rice, fried dumplings, crab meat rolls, salad and a bowl of soup. Taste was good but wish the pork cutlet size is bit bigger. Seafood Udon is okay and nothing special. Would I come back? Maybe just for the Hue dup bap.

Did anyone else order spicy salmon roll? There isn't any salmon in spicy salmon roll, there's only fried flour

Came here with some friends for the omakase special meal…read more Such a lovely overall standard omakase experience and meal. The highlight for me was probably the set of four starter appetizers, they were flavourful, delicately prepared and perfect way to start the meal. I liked the slightly pickled dish with cucumbers the best. We also had sushi prepared with fresh seafood. The rice was probably my favorite compared to other places I've been. It was perfectly seasoned rice, warm and cooked to have just the right texture, not overcooked and not undercooked. The rice held up well when picked up by hand and complemented the flavours of the fish. Finished the meal with a matcha flavored pudding flan type dessert which had deep matcha flavours. If you're a fan of matcha, you'd probably enjoy it too. All in all, the meal was enjoyable, the torched tuna sushi was probably my favorite sushi of the set and my least favorite was the egg/eel, I was expecting a sweet egg at the end so it unexpected.

The restaurant is super quiet and they offer great quality of food with great service, and the price is expensive if you choose to order sukiyaki set (expect $80+ per person). You can choose between sushi sets at different price level or sukiyaki from the menu. This suits the need of our group given some people prefer sushi but some couldn't eat raw food. They also offer a couple of limited appetizer dishes such as tempuras and unagi don. If you booked the sukiyaki table and want to order sushi, you need to call them in advance to notify which sushi sets you want. We tried the sashimi and sushi courses at $55, which included miso soup, 5 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi (squid, toros, salmon, scallop etc.), handroll and matcha or black sesame icecream at your choice. The sushi is smaller than average, suitable for small eaters. The course is totally worth the money. I love every piece of sashimi and my favourite sushi include the scallop and the squid. Everything was super fresh. The dessert was also having the perfect sweetness level for me. In addition, we also tried the sukiyaki for two ($110), which includes mushrooms, cabbages, great quality of Angus beef, yummy tofu and udon. Again, all the material was with great quality and super fresh. I especially liked the sweet sukiyaki soup, the tofu and the udon. We also ordered some shareable dishes including chawanmushi, unagi don and cod. Cod was cooked to perfect (soft and flavourful), and unagi don had quite decent portion. It would be better if the unagi could be softer from my personal opinion. Chawanmushi was mediocre. Overall, I strongly recommend this restaurant to fan of Japanese cuisine. It meets different people's needs by offering both cooked and raw food options, and the sushi set definitely has great value for money.

We had eight pieces of sushi: Japanese sea bream Medium fatty tuna Charred Spanish mackerel Snow crab and Japanese ikura Japanese fluke Fatty tuna Salmon with shisho leaf and truffle Scallop We also had a fatty tuna hand roll and got matcha ice cream and yuzu ice cream for dessert. They also had optional upgrades for uni or Japanese melon, which I think was like $35 for uni and $27 for one melon slice. We didn't end up doing that but we were super full from lunch and it was a pretty good deal for omakase. Service was amazing, super comfortable. There's just a handful of seats, obviously at the omakase table. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend going.

The appetizer was interesting, the first sushi course, Engawa was my least favorite! Never had such weird texture and crunch fish before and I did not like it at all! We were the only diners in the entire place, it was quite strange the chef wasn't much of a talker and didn't really talk much about where the fish came from, just merely the name of the fish and that's all. Other than the snow crab from Norway. They did accommodate my allergy and replaced with Cho toro which was great! Pleasantly surprised was the dessert instead of boring ice cream, it was my favorite warabimochi!

We ordered take out S5 supreme sashimi, sushi and roll combo at $60 and D3 Chirashi don $21.50. Wow, the Chirashi don has so many different kinds of fish and so fresh, huge volume. S5 is also as good as the other location, maybe even better. The rice is even seasoned, the quality is like omakase, the take out box is wrapped with Japanese style cloth wrap, very elegant, although a kind of waste (I asked not to wrap in cloth to be more environmentally friendly). Paid in cash, got 10% discount, What a big bang for the buck as well. One third of the cost as other sushi place with better quality. It is now our go to place for sushi take out. The service is nice and efficient too. Highly recommended.

Ordered tempura vegetables and shrimp with 6 pieces total was only around $9. This tempura tasted truly delicious compared to other pricier restaurants! The whole staff greeted us the moment we came in with smile and felt their kindness/patience while we were looking through the menu. They were very accommodating with changing spicy salmon roll to dynamite roll in the dinner sushi sets for me since I don't eat spicy food. Other restaurants would always charge extra regardless if the price was the same or cheaper. The rice ratio for the rolls was PERFECT! Definitely the best one I've seen by far. I would love to try their signature rolls next time to see if they're the same. I would come here again for lunch and check them out. -1 star because: The sushi to rice ratio is a little too much so I had to take some off unfortunately. Also the salad that comes with the sets was bland, lettuce and 3 strings of beets.

The rolls were not just basic rolls, they were packed with flavour, texture (tempura bits) and had an excellent rice-meat ratio. The salmon terriyaki portion was amazing. Service was a little on the slow side, the the food definitely made up for it. I'm looking forward to trying out other sushi rolls & menu items as their menu is quite extensive!
