The torched sushi were REALLY good - very flavourful with just the right amount of rice. In addition to the combo, I ordered the Green Salad (with dressing on the side), which came as a medium-sized bowl of fresh leafy greens and cucumber. Unagi Don was good too. It came with diced up tamago (eggs) beneath the unagi. Salmon Bento Box looked terrible (glad it wasn't my order). The salmon looked fried, oily, and covered with a very thick layer of teriyaki sauce (bound to be sweet). It came with a few pieces of deep-fried gyoza and salmon hand roll, where you get to assemble it yourself with a wide sheet of dried seaweed. The hand roll was probably the only good thing in that bento box. There was no salad or veggie whatsover (which is typically part of most bento boxes at other places). Every main item order came with miso soup, which contained a bit of seaweed and tofu. The interior of the restaurant wasn't that big, but it was nice and cozy. Capacity was about half full at mid-day, but we were able to snag a table for four without any wait time. Service was prompt and efficient.

The decor was nice and clean, good for smaller groups, families, and friends or for take out. The sashimi platter had quite a few varieties for 60 pieces, including salmon, surf clam, octopus, sweet shrimp, scallop, squid, tuna and a few others. Everything was cleaned very well and tasted very fresh. The kou maki was also nicely torched with some salmon on top, and scallop, mango, tobiko, and avocado within. You could also purchase cuts of fish from the fridge and ask them to slice it for sashimi for you. Service: The service was very friendly, and courteous. They received quite a few orders online in that time, and there was very quick with two chefs behind the counter and a person managing orders and taking care of all the tables. This is a review for delivery:…read more Even then, I cautiously ordered the maki set B ($14.95) where the uncooked ingredient was limited to the salmon in the spicy salmon roll. In hindsight, there was so much tempura bits incorporated into the roll - on top and mixed with the salmon - that I had little to worry about with the raw fish. Tempura bits are such an oily condiment that can ruin the maki; after wiping off the bits on top, the roll tasted better. The dynamite roll was delicious incorporating a warm tempura shrimp, julienned cucumbers for crunch, avocado, and surimi. Given the rice wasn't too thick, all the ingredients really shone through creating a flavourful bite and the maki is large (10 pieces instead of the typical eight). Compared to everything else, this was the tastiest bite of the evening. Kibo's maki sets also arrive with soup and salad, fairly standard versions of the sides. Instead of diving into the soup, I should have taken the time to reheat it as lukewarm and grainy miso isn't the tastiest thing. At least the soup was flavourful and bits of fried dough were added in lieu of tofu - you won't get away from fried carbs at Kibo Sushi House! I was expecting the ebi siu mai ($6.95) to be a har gow shrimp filling in a siu mai wonton wrapper. Instead, the wrapper was filled with shrimp paste incorporating a lot of flour, so you're met with a mushy bite. I even pan fried them the next day to give it a crust and only marginally improved the starter.
