Double Patty Cheese Burger With Fries

"New Furniture Makes It More Comfortable " We went back to the Latitude Lounge in the Marriott Hotel and had another nice experience. They have put in all new Bar and Table chairs which were very comfortable and looked nice. We met Matthew who had only been working at the Bar for 3 days. Matthew was was nice and was hustling around learning and helping everyone. We had the Happy Hour special Double Patty Cheeseburger with fries. We also enjoyed some $6.00 Well drinks which were also good. We met and talked with the Restaurant Supervisor Michael Rotunno. Michael is very nice to talk with and is always hustling around the entire restaurant and bar area making sure everything is OK with all of the customers.

I have only gone to this lounge once during Comic Con 2016 and my first impression was a positive one. The Lounge was clean, open with a wonderful view of the downtown "Comic Con" atmosphere. My party of three enjoyed refreshing cocktails prepared by a friendly, welcoming bartender. The Lounge was clean and classy, comfortable and convenient, with great customer service. I look forward to coming here on a not so busy weekend to enjoy more cocktails and food.

If you go to Altitude rooftop, do not forget about Latitude Lounge on the bottom floor! Another of my favorite spots in Gaslamp for years. Always attentive service, very friendly. Lots of tourists, so if you are local and want to mingle with visitors and sharpen your foreign language skills, this is a cool place to hang out. Great place to drink a cocktail while you wait that line to get to the elevator that will take you to Altitude disappear...

Came into the latitude lounge about 30 minutes before the Super Bowl started and had no trouble bellying up to the bar right in front of a giant flatscreen. Although my friends decided to drink their lunch, I opted for the New York blackened steak salad. The salad was amazing. It came with avocado sun-dried tomatoes and baby greens coated with a light and flavorful dressing. There was a generous portion of steak which was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. They have a separate dessert menu with lots of delectable treats. I ordered the baby chocolate cake. The bartender did give me a strange look when I asked her if there were real bits of baby in it lol. It was a molten chocolate cake with a condensed cream sauce along with fresh berries and vanilla bean ice cream. They also offer after dinner drinks like super aged port wines. I knocked off one star for the smoke that was billowing in from the lung cancer candidates out on the patio. It started bothering us after a while especially having to smell it while we are eating. The service here was amazing. Our bartenders name was Tiffany and she was going non-stop with a smile on her face the entire time and a great attitude. Kudos to her for making it look so easy!

Grilled Tuna Sandwich

The old-fashioned was the best. The pastrami sandwich was awful. Seriously, I was stuck in traffic for 5 hours and starving, so for me to turn down food.... It looked nice. Eye appeal. Served on pretzel bread, but it was so dry and stale. The pastrami was grilled, but somehow tasteless. I only ate half of my sandwich. The grilled ahi sandwich was a winner, but unfortunately it was not mine.

To get inside, you have to go through the hotel entrance and then take the elevator to the top floor. There was no issue going up or down, and everything moved rather quickly considering we visited on a Friday night. Up top it was a little crowded near the edges where everyone was taking photos, but people moved around pretty quickly so it was still easy to get some really good pictures from the rooftop. I didn't order any drinks, so this review is based solely on the location and the views, but once you're up there it's just absolutely beautiful. I thought it was kinda weird but did so. Then the fireplace spins around into a speakeasy. It's the coolest bar I've ever been to and I immediately sent a video to my buddies of the fireplace spinning around into the bar. The beer selection is limited but the cocktail list is lengthy. Right away when we arrived I noticed that the flooring on the revolving fireplace looked like it needed to be replaced. I shrugged it off thinking they needed light weight materials for the revolving floor entrence. But I didn't think it was a good look for what is supposed to be a swanky exclusive vibe and being the first thing you really see. ( First impressions are important) Despite having made a reservation, we were seated directly between the revolving entrence and the exit, in the two coolest looking but most uncomfortable chairs. They were not practical at all for sitting and conversing a in a loud environment. That corner, in my opinion, should be reserved for the hostess and not for guest. Initially we thought these chairs were a quick stop before being moved to some of the other available sitting at the bar or around the perimeter we could clearly see when we came in. We asked, and where told those were our seats. No offer was made to be moved. We did not get a server to come to us until after we had placed our drink order with one of the hostess, about 20min after we were seated. Our server was very nice and polite. No issues there, just took long to get to us. The drinks were disappointing. Forgettable to say the least. We ordered one of there menu items and a Moscow mule. We were sad to see the Moscow mule served in a glass you might normally get a mojito in ... it wasn't served in a copper cup. As we sat there and looked at the place, we both thought the ambiance and decor was nice. However we were surprised to see so many people looked very underdressed considering they have a "smart casual" dress code, completely destroyed the whole swanky exclusive vibe. Lots of men in shorts and both men and women in flip flops. I also noticed the flooring inside the speakeasy had similar wear and scuff marks, as on the fireplace. The need to update their flooring and the amount of underdressed guest did not help project the vibes that they are going for. This really felt like a fast food (drinks) chain in any mall. Sadly I would not recommend, do to the drinks not being all that good, the service was mediocre, the "vibe" and experience they sell fall short.

Our group was surprised as is was 2115, it's been open for about an hour and a half and packed. As you enter this old law office down a staircase one would find the "speakeasy statutes/rules" to maintain the 1920s atmosphere-- we loved the setting, the people, the drinks, and of course the live music!! One would not be disappointed. The cocktail menu was on an old record, which I thought it was so clever. Back to the rules, seems pretty easy! They mention to keep an open mind with the drinks as they do not carry vodkas, redbull, Budweiser or bulls**t. Mentioned a dresscode, more so be classic and states be respectful and don't be a di*k. Multiple bystanders witnessed his behavior but failed to intervene, assuming it was just "relationship drama" After the man finally left, the venue's security completely misread the situation. Instead of checking on my well-being or ensuring the aggressor had left the premises, security targeted and chased me as if I were the problem. It is incredibly disappointing and dangerous for a business's security team to lack the basic situational awareness and training required to identify the actual victim in a situation. I felt entirely unprotected by the staff here. I hope management takes this as a serious sign that their security team needs immediate retraining on bystander intervention and de-escalation, rather than harassing women who are already in vulnerable situations.

There were plenty of seats available, and service was quick and smooth. Cocktails were around $15-18 each. I ordered the Perpetual Motion and absolutely loved it, the sweet strawberry flavor paired perfectly with the creamy Calpico. It's the kind of drink I'd order again and again. I also tried the Piña Colada, which was equally delicious. Even though the cocktails are beautifully handcrafted and easy to sip, you can still taste the liquor, which I always appreciate. This is such a great spot for a first date, a girls' night out, or simply catching up with friends. One of my favorite parts was exploring the vinyl room, it adds such a fun retro touch. I guess that's my one criticism is that I wish there were points of interaction around the place. For example, the bar had these cool recessed lights that looked like control panels, but they could easily be made into an interactive element. A lot more could be done with projection technology too. We didn't eat dinner, but the menu looked interesting with all vegetarian entrees with futuristic names. We did have some drinks.
