Incredibly prompt and unflaggingly professional in the provider appointment process, something there doesn't always exist in most medical offices IMHO, left alone one that accepts Med-Cal patients. I've been going to Mind Care for almost a couple years, I believe, & have always been provided great service. The office is clean, they're quick to answer the phones & provide assistance, as well as offer appointment reminder phone calls. My recent experience was more than great as I had issues with my pharmacy (who I was going to for a long time), & Mariela provided exceptional service & helped out a lot. She'd been assisting me with this issue for almost 2 days, & was constantly on the phone with the pharmacy to follow up & update them with information. At the end, she was so professional & ended up resolving the issue - she would follow up with me throughout the day, which I was grateful for. Do not waste your time trying to make an appointment here! I am so disappointed in this place. Making a call to schedule an appointment is so hard for people with mental illnesses. I made an appointment about a month and a half ago after contemplating if I really need to go to a psychiatrist for a few months. They called me a week later to reschedule me because the provider wasn't going to be there that day. They scheduled me for the week after my original appointment, which I was fine with. Then the day of my appointment, they called me two hours prior to my appointment time and canceled on me! Stating that the provider had an emergency. They tried to reschedule me again for 2 weeks from now & I said, no thank you, I'd rather find a more reliable doctor. Why is it that the provider can cancel on me two hours prior but if I canceled two hours prior I'd have to pay a fee?? Absolutely disgusted with this place! read more

Their office rescheduled an appointment on me twice due to the last minute unavailability of the nurse practitioner I was scheduled with. When I was able to get a hold of someone in their office, that was fine. But after multiple instances of calling to follow up on appointment times, having to leave a message requesting a call back, then never receiving a call back, I decided to go elsewhere. I will say that my visits there were fine, and I was treated well on site. Staff was pleasant and courteous in my experience, but unreliability of communication was the overall deal-breaker. read more

Front desk staff, Leslie is extremely unprofessional and rude. The therapist Ms Stain was always late, didn't complete our hr sessions, and gave me literally no good advice or feedback. Their office manager Brenda takes a very long time to respond to patients and isn't much better than Leslie. I was wondering why it was so easy to get into appointments in comparison to other offices, but now I see it's because the quality here is so low. I'm sure Leslie has scared away more patients in the past. This is sad since you come here for mental health help, not more frustration and trauma. read more

Dr. Sabrina Sandoval is just awesome. She has finally put me on the correct medications and dosages for my bipolar/ptsd issues. With other doctors I've felt like a science experiment for years, nothing has really helped. Now I feel "normal" and balanced. She's absolutely wonderful, wouldn't go to anyone else. I have been blessed to receive Michael Sarudi as my Nurse practitioner. He is always prompt, on time, extremely efficient, and takes his time when I have a consultation. He is a great listener. Michael treats his job as a vocation. I never feel like I am being treated like a number. He is extremely professional. He has been a great help to me. read more

Booking an appointment was easy as I got someone on the phone the first time I called which was great. The appointment itself was okay, though I am not sure the person I saw knows what they're doing. But anyway, I was issued a new antidepressant and then scheduled a followup for 6 weeks later. Unfortunately, I missed the appointment which was on me. But at no point during the 6-week period was I given any kind of appointment reminder. But you best believe they found a phone as soon as the appointment was missed to tell me I owed them $50. They were suddenly able to call multiple times and leave voicemails. On the third call, I picked up the phone while driving and told them to call back later.. which didn't happen. Fine. No big deal. What is a big deal though is that when my 30-day prescription ran out, I tried to refill it at the pharmacy. They said no refills were left and that they had tried to contact my doctor. I followed up with the pharmacy a couple of days later and they said they still hadn't heard back despite trying a few times. I finally called the office to find out what was going on and they said "we don't do refills without a followup." No one, NO ONE had reached out to inform me of this. My doc did not inform me of this during my appointment. I asked the person that answered the phone why no one contacted me to let me know that I could not get a refill. She said "well can't know if you want an appointment or not." Que???? The worst part is that if you listen to through their phone prompts when you call, they have an option for pharmacies to leave a voicemail for prescription refill requests. So I said, "well, the pharmacy contacted you for a refill multiple time. Why didn't you just call me and let me know that you couldn't issue one without an appointment when you got their voicemails?" The woman at the front desk straight up said "we don't check that voicemail box." What the actual eff??? The voice message says nothing about this stipulation. It simply instructs pharmacies to leave a message. Why even have a voicemail box for prescription refills if you don't do refills or check the box???? So you have people whose brains are dependent on the chemicals in the medication you're providing but they're being left high and dry without critical medicine because of crap customer service??? To have staff that do not comprehend the impact it has on you when your medication is abruptly discontinued is reckless and negligent. They need a serious look at their operational practices and policies. This place sucks. read more

Rude. The front office staff is mildly rude, the paperwork and the forms about office policy a little off putting. BUT the nurse practitioner Janet Smith was the worst. Asking the most intrusive questions ever, irrelevant to the reason for the visit . Her conclusion at the end of the visit was more disturbing than the need for the visit in the first place. read more

I'm satisfied with Doctor Sandoval and all of Mind Care Services. Everyone here is really friendly, the girls who work at the front desk are great, Waiting room is always clean and I always see Justin or Dr.Sandoval within a couple minutes upon arrival. Justin is great! He always listens to me and gives me constructive criticism. I could not be more grateful. read more

I have to say that my doctor has been great this whole time. My visits are always on time and she listens to me and cares about my symptoms and side effects. That said, the admin/support staff are terrible. Every single time I've had a prescription, the pharmacy will text me and say that they faxed a request to the doctor's office and haven't heard back. I end up having to call the office just to get them to do their jobs and respond to the pharmacy! EVERY TIME! I am beyond frustrated. I had a prescription from my doctor sent on 7/21. Today, 8/1, it still hasn't been filled for me. And when I called to talk to them (again) about it they asked me why I needed a refill if I just got one on 7/21!!!! They made it seem like I was just asking for more medication for no reason. Really very disheartening. I don't get how you could treat your patients like this. Isn't the point of your job to help them? Very disappointed and will be looking into switching offices if possible. This would have been a 1 star review if it weren't for my awesome Doctor. If you have a hard time talking to people on the phone because of anxiety or anything else, consider an office where they treat you with respect. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Sandoval MD for approximately 2 years. During that time I have found her to be one of the best psychiatrists in the Los Angeles/ Orange County area. She has never forced a treatment on me and we both come up with solutions to my different psychological problems that can arise at any time. In the past, I have had very bad experiences with multiple psychiatrists. I have been seeing both a psychiatrist and psychologist since I was 13 and I am currently 37. I have gone through several over the years. Dr. Sandoval is probably in my top 2 ever if not my favorite I have ever had. She has treated me for both depression and panic attacks til this very day and I am still a current patient. I have zero qualms about recommending Dr. Sandoval for Panic Attacks and Depression. I highly recommend her services. Great bedside manners and very competent. She cares about her patients. read more

I like the NP Michael but think I really need to see the actual Dr. Sandoval. I know my body and have been on these particular medications for years and all Michael kept insisting was that i would get addicted. I understand the addiction to the particular meds I was on, but that's just part of it. I've been on these for years so I'm already used to them. I asked NP Michael to up my dose and he kept refusing so i had to go find another Dr. who would prescribe me the proper dosage to get me where I needed to be. Nothing against Np Michael, but I think I should have been able to meet with the actual Dr. Mary Sandoval so J could get the treatment I needed. Mike is a good guy just has to learn that ssri drugs are not the answer to everyone's anxiety and some people need the benzodiazepines whether addictive or not. Now I just have to go find another Dr. so it's fine I'm sure the other Dr. won't have a problem billing my PPO insurance. If Dr. Sandoval reads this I'd love to get to meet with you instead ! read more

The front desk staff has actually been super kind to me as I have been working with them to get appointments for therapy and speak to a psychiatrist about getting on medication for my panic attacks. I've been on two kinds of long term anxiety medications, neither of which worked for me. The NURSE practitioner, Michael, introduced himself as a doctor to me. I didn't find out he was a nurse practitioner until I called the front desk afterwards to reschedule an appointment and get a second opinion because I did NOT agree with his treatment plan. He was extremely rude. I kept trying to ask him questions about the medication he put me on, he shut me down every time and just told me "I've been doing this for a long time". When I told me what works for me, he said he didn't like prescribing that. My last doctor told me the same thing, but I had to keep going to the emergency room and getting it there because my panic attacks feel like I'm having a heart attack and that's the only thing that helps. The ER room doctors told me I need to find a new doctor. Now I'm on long term anxiety medication and ALLERGY medication that's supposed to replace benzodiazepines? I know it won't work. I'm looking at another ER trip within the next couple weeks. Save your time and energy and go somewhere where they actually care about you. I can only speak for that one NP, but I would never put myself through that again. read more

My son sees James Noftle for therapy to help with his behavior due to ADHD. He was struggling with low self esteem, anxiety and aggression. I really cant say enough about how much progress he has made and I owe it all to James. He had previously seen another therapist and he wasn't really showing any change in his behavior and I was beginning to lose hope that therapy would work until we met James. He has really helped in showing my son how to express himself appropriately and he no longer has angry outbursts. I must admit I used to be the kind of person that felt therapy was unnecessary. I felt there was nothing a therapist could say or do that I couldn't say or do and James totally proved me wrong. He has even helped my husband and I become better parents by pointing out things we were doing that we hadn't been paying attention to. In talking to James it really opened our eyes to even the small things that make such a difference. The relationship between my husband, my son and I is a million times better now than it has ever been and I know we could not have gotten to where we are today without James. It is obvious to see that his patients are his top priority. He is the most caring individual who truly just wants to help in whatever way he can. People like James are rare in this world so we are definitely lucky to have met him. read more
