Fish and Chips

I will say this was our first stop going to Santa Fe and it was wonderful! The staff was welcoming, the ambiance is fun and we had great live music. My Dad enjoyed his brisket taco platter and husband enjoyed his shaft brisket melt. The waiter recommended the fish and chips for me and I loved it! We all had a great time here. We walked around the restaurant and they have a cantina section where you can enjoy drinks outside and it had a train out there! I thought that so cool. You will not be disappointed.

Went with a group for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend the encaustic art museum beforehand if heading from Santa fe. Food was delicious. Service was good. Atmosphere was decent. Not sure if we sat in the original bar space as it is a large complex. I had the asada tacos as they were a special. They also had several oyster themed specials which is a little weird in April on New Mexico but whatevas.

Angus Burger with cheese and bacon! The Mad Chile Burger was a close second to this one.

After walking around town and window shopping, we were hungry and thirsty. The mineshaft was a great option. Service by Debbie was excellent and fun and the food & beverages were quite good. Burgers were the mainstay but there are some surprises...good surprises. Appetizer Crawfish Boudin Balls were excellent. The entrees, (9oz Prime Rib, Angus Bacon Cheeseburger and the Green Chile Mac-n-Cheese were all excellent...meat was cooked to requested temps, and the appetizer and MacNCheese were smoking hot! The remoulade sauce for the Boudin Balls was rich and spicy; the Green Chile Mac was spicy, and creamy and crispy, with the add on bacon adding the right touch. The Mineshaft had live music in the adjoining space and great cocktails on weekends, too. Give this place a try. Definitely!

We stopped here while passing through Madrid on Labor Day weekend, and the whole town was buzzing! The tavern itself wasn't too busy that we couldn't find a seat. We weren't expecting too much once we sat down, but we were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was! The food exceeded expectations for sure! I got the BLT, which also had avocado on it and it was amazing. So were the fries! The food was amazing and we had wonderful service from Alex!

When promoting ChatGPT to generate a possible itinerary visiting Santa Fe, this place was recommended. It was a great stop, especially as the restaurant is connected to a an artist community. Hatch chile basket was a good start to the meal, lightly battered with ranch dressing. The mad chile burger is there staple and glad I went for it. Traditional burger with a hatch chile jam along with another tempura hatch chili. It really was a tasty burger with the quality of the meat coming through. Service was quick and attentive! It's in an old mining building, so that alone adds to the ambiance of dining room. Parking is difficult- be patient-we ended paying up the street.

Fantastic food but slow service. Don't be in a hurry if you want to eat here. You need to have a laid back, go with the flow attitude.

Veggie Green Chile, guac and a silver coin rita

Pablo was skeptical, I was not, having watched Longmire recently I love to visit film locations. The bar is not too large and not too small, at lunchtime, there was a gently hum of diners talking, the music was very low. We sat at the bar and shared some guac and chips and a vegetarian green chile, and one silver coin margarita. This was plenty and we were full for $35. The veggie green chile was top notch. The service was friendly and efficient. Pablo left loving it and I left wishing Lou Diamond Philips had been serving me. MADrid is so small you can park way down the street and walk up.

Green Chile Blue Crab Cake

Food always to die for. The plating was a little different than two years and the crab cake seemed a bit smaller and a bit dry. I'd still order it again because the flavors are great. The burger again, was amazing!!! The service was slow and someone didn't seat us for 20 minutes so we found a spot at the bar which was nice. It was super busy so I understand. Beautiful place, comforting and just a great time.

I asked a local where to get the best burger in town, and without hesitating, he suggested Mine Shaft Tavern. He wasn't wrong. They also offer some of the tastiest Margheritas, too! The vibe is spot on for an old mining town in the southwest. The server was friendly.

My idea of comfort food.

In Moriarity NM for 2-day K-9 nosework event and this super convenient place to stay a couple nights Of course everybody has heard of Sierra Blanca Brewing. Probably the class of New Mexico craft beer. Brands like their Alien IPA are well known throughout the SW. I'm a big fan of their peanut butter porter. Of course the beer here is delish and fresh. Located just off I-40 in Moriarity about 45 minutes east of Albuquerque. Easy on off ... worth the stop. Big property that encompasses the brewery proper + a tasting room, merch sales and an amazing 1 acre'ish beer garden that has coverage from sun if it's too hot. I sat with pup back in beer garden and the outside bartenders was nice enough to deliver my drinks to the table. As far as a Harvest Host site is concerned, pretty big, level dirt parking area that as they admit gets a bit muddy after rain, but if you keep to edges, you'll be fine. Only thing not leading me to 5-star rating is absence of kitchen and any food other than bagged pretzels and nuts. Country music playing outside, just a really nice place

Very easy going. We also met some enjoyable travelers from all around the country.

Not because of the atmosphere. Not because of the location. Because of Katya. Katya is not my favorite bartender. She is my favorite human being. I've spent enough time in bars to know when someone is good at their job. Katya operates on an entirely different level. She can take what feels like sixteen orders at once, remember every single one, deliver them with absolute precision, keep the entire room moving, somehow do the math in her head, and still make every customer feel like they're the only person sitting at the bar. The basement bar itself is exactly what a great dive should be; a shithole. Heavy hobo stab vibes upon entry, including Katya. Smell: multiple buttholes farting at once. Climate control: sweaty patron dependent. Lighting: liability. TV: playing a rotation of trash 80s DVDs . If business schools were smart, they'd study her. If hospitality groups were smart, they'd clone her. If Santa Fe has any sense at all, they'll do whatever it takes to keep her exactly where she is. Cash only, so come prepared. And bring plenty of it, because she deserves every penny. Katya must be protected at all costs.

I ordered number 2 to pair with my (incredible) FRENCH ONION SOUP If you have that on your menu I have to try it but this was truly exceptional ! Following that I had the New York Strip. Medium rare. GREAT but I did ask for a side of Green Chile. And Garlic Aioli for the potatoes Nicely cooked but I added some salt and chile to make it pop my taste buds. YES. I would order it again the same way The Pork Chop looked great as well Desert was also very good. We ordered flights of white and none of them were cold enough. I understand if they had been reds, but on a hot summer day, one just craves a cold glass of wine and/or bubbly. Once we were done tasting our wines and the food arrived, we had to ask a couple of times/people to remove the large glasses and apparatus they rested in from our table since there wasn't room for everything. The hummus and pita with hot honey and feta was pretty good, and our son loved his pasta dish from the kids menu, but that was the extent of the magic here. The paninis the rest of our party ordered were again, just ok. When I went to the restroom I was appalled. There was some really gross stuff sticking to the wall next to the toilet; I couldn't tell if it was barf or poop, but it really turned me off. Good thing we were already on our way out. The atmosphere is kind of a New Orleans vibe with a high ceiling and covered terrace upstairs with plants that you can see from the downstairs area. That was nice. The day before when I was walking around the Plaza, they had a big carafe of fruit-infused ice water outside the restaurant with plastic cups for people to help themselves to, and it was super refreshing. That was the best thing about this place.
