Been in and around Santa Fe for many years, and have had lots of NM cuisine, but never at Tiny's. After hunting around on a busy holiday week evening for some New Mexican food, only to be stumped by insanely long wait times, we headed to Tiny's on a Monday at 6:30. Great, small, lively blues band playing, no wait to sit, and a very local, friendly vibe. Our party of five ordered a range of meals, rellenos, enchiladas, combinations, posole, tacos, and a few beers. Food was very reasonable in price, made to order, and rivaled just about anything at the trendier, upscale joints near the Plaza or elsewhere. Not a fancy joint, trying to one-up every New Mexico decorative cliche, so don't go for your Insta-life setting. When The Shed, The Pantry, La Choza, or others bust your chops, try Tiny's, and its long history in Santa Fe over the last 60 years. Or go to Tiny's to start. read more

We have been to Tinys several times. Previously, we had their carne adovada nachos which were great. We were craving them tonight and went there around 630. They were busy but we still were craving the nachos. Male waiter told us to sit where ever we'd like. There was the male waiter and the female waitress. We sat at the table for about 5 mins, no menus, no water, no acknowledgment that we were there. Male waiter came back with menus, told us he was not our server but he could get us some waters to start. After the water, the waitress started taking the orders of the table next to us, that was a larger party, but she said nothing to us at all--not even a hi, we're busy but I'll get back with you as soon as I can or as soon as I get this order in. Walked by our table, nothing. We waited another 5 minutes and decided to walk out. Poor customer service. We went to our favorite restaurant, Valentinas on Alameda. We ordered nachos with carne adovada and don't think we'll ever return to Tinys. read more

Services -I came to hear music and didn't order much. However, the ambience was fun, the service was very good, and the music was great.!

Michelle at the bar made these two out of towners feel straight at home. We saw the marquee and were lured in by a third Monday 19-piece jazz band, had some spicy nachos and were in heaven. Loved the experience; an alt-Santa Fe (or classic Santa Fe?) experience. read more

I should have taken a photo of the steak tacos. I'm unsure if it was skirt steak, and if it was, it was so perfectly cooked the big spears of steak tasted and had a consistency of a much more prime cut of beef. The masa harina tortillas were excellente and perfectly crisped on the edges with flour tortilla consistency to the rest of the wrap. I grew up on a working cattle ranch in Oklahoma so I know beef. My business is in Dallas, Texas and my husband live here and we are fortunate enough to retire in this fantastic town. We were there for a big meeting and the service was good but the food was five stars. Service probably suffered from it being a huge party. Just like Arnold Schwarzenegger "The Terminator," said, "I will be back!" My husband had the special avocado and shrimp salad. I tried it. No, honestly, I ate half of it. Didn't like it as much as the steak taco perfection but it was four stars good. I'd eat it, again! Do yourselves a favor and go. Nice owner, too. He was very welcoming and responsive. STEAK TACOS - $14.75 Grilled steak with Pico de Gallo topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, served with beans and our own salsa. Pico de Gallo Their peak of the rooster salsa is perfection, as well. Unique and truly Santa Fe. Santa Fe has the peppers Texas and Oklahoma lack and the salsas prove it. Tiny's is a family-owned and operated Santa Fe institution in operation since 1947. Walking inside is a bit like stepping back in time to an old-fashioned bar/dining room scene. They have great live entertainment and a dance floor all offered without a cover. They have a full bar offering and an extensive menu. This place definitely has a local vibe that says you have arrived at a special place that has been around for a long time. We really enjoy visiting Tiny's and know we can always stop by on a late night for a full meal or something as simple as nachos. The staff is always friendly and makes you feel like you've been there 100 times. Our nachos. pictured here, came complete with fresh jalapenos, sour cream, guac, and cheddar. We added the Carne Adovada for an extra kick. The chips were crispy and delicious, we only wish the amount of cheese and other goodness had been more equal to the number of chips on the plate and we would have finished that off rather than leave a plate with naked chips when we were done. Our last visit was on a slow night, but if you go on a night with live music and dancing you will not be sorry. And, if music and dancing aren't your things, check out the patio for a quieter, more intimate experience. It's a great time with good food and makes an enjoyable evening. I can't say that this place wasn't good, but it certainly wasn't great. Other than the cleanliness, that is. I walked in and they had a wonderful live music set, with a young woman that had quite a voice. There were draft beer options, the menu stated, but I certainly never saw a tap anywhere. I ended up with bottles. The bartender, a veteran server, was incredibly kind. She certainly knew many of the regulars, and voiced a great deal of gratitude for her tip. Overall, if you are walking down Cerrillos and want to pop in, I suggest it. Or if you know a performing artist there. It gets the job done. read more

OK, Tiny's has been in the same family for something like 50 years. Think about that. They have to be doing something right. We didn't go into the dining room, but the bar is classic and funky. The bartender had just the right amount of sass to keep you laughing and the wine list is Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Cabernet....period, but they have a great selection of beers. Service was very good and I would put the food up against any other Northern Mexican food in town, plus I hear the hamburgers are great. Don't let the exterior scare you off. Next time you can't get into Maria's or La Choza....head to Tiny's. We will. read more

We "settled" for Tiny's only after finding frustration from being told it's an hour and a half wait at some of the more "desirable" places. Plus we were major hangry - and on the verge of a divorce. So I'm glad we stopped in. Curb appeal isn't great. But we were seated right away on their courtyard patio. The salsa was so fresh and was frankly some of the best I've ever had. Chock full of green onions, roasted tomato, cilantro, and just the right amount of heat. They need to bottle that stuff. The food was piping hot and their carne adovada did not disappoint. I love that it came with nixtamal (hominy). Oh yeah, the margaritas were good too. I'm giving these guys a shout out - they deserve it. And they probably saved our marriage. read more

We decided to go to Tiny's because it was a quick walk from our hotel, and we loved it. The salsa was the best I've had from a restaurant (ever), the flautas were delicious, and the chicken fajita salad was the all time winner of the night - our server Rebeca was incredible! read more

How awful. So, Tiny's isn't so tiny after all, and for that you lost a star and that customer. Just like any lounge place located in and around downtown Santa Fe, the alcohol prices were high considering you can buy more alcohol down the street for less money at the gas station. LOL. But, when we do visit lounges, it isn't for the price, is it? We customers go to places like Tiny's for a place to relax for a bit, listen to live music, and have a couple of pours. The restrooms were clean. My date and I sat at a small table with an electrical outlet next to it, so we were able to charge our phones during the couple of beers were were enjoying. There was just nothing redeeming about this place. Unless you count the drunk chick semi-mooning people (she was wearing pantyhose) at the bar, there was really no upside. I didn't count the semi-mooning as an upside, but far be it for me to deny others who might enjoy the show. It's a local establishment that's been around forever and although the owner is a crotchety old fart it is a nice place to go for drinks and good food. The prices are a bit high but hey... Welcome to Santa Fe. They do have THE BEST burger in the state. The chili rellenos are AMAZING and the nachos are to die for!! You need to order them with carne adovada and layered! I just finished a plate right now! 09/04/14 Hellen and Sofia are fantastic bartenders serving up great drinks, good service and fun personality! They offer a variety of entertainment throughout the week, open mic night, jam sessions with a band and a live band usually every Friday, no cover but they make up for it on the drink prices.
