Chomp is an interesting food and drink building. The atmosphere is unique however the few food businesses were slow, not open at 7:30m or not taking order. It was about half full when our group of 25 arrived. All waited for longer than expected and one business refused to take orders saying they have too many. The bar area was where it was at by putting out tasty pizzas and unique drinks. Thank goodness for that. read more

5 stars for Chef Nath's food, 3 for Chomp Chef Nath's been around Santa Fe in differing modes for years. Her food is superb and it is great she has a full time location for us to savor it. We went on New Year's Eve, and she had a special fried rice with huge shrimp and crab meat that was to die for. Yeah, $40 for one plate but it was huge and super delicious. We also had her Turmeric noodles with chicken, also outstanding. While very busy, Chef Nath came by our table to make sure we were happy; such a lovely person. Thai food in Santa Fe is hit or miss, usually miss. Not with Chef Nath; she is fantastic, and we look forward to coming back. Maybe we can sample her amazing soup at the next "Souper Bowl." Now, in terms of the rest of Chomp, it has almost as many 'misses' as hits. I tried a slice of pizza a co-diner offered me, which was very good. But the wait time for a pizza was 40 minutes! This illustrates with Chomp, and you'll hear this from many other reviewers: it takes far, far too long to get your food than you might expect. If you are OK at the bar (we are not drinkers, so no), you may not mind waiting a long time to eat. But expect this to be the case. Early (5PM), not many people, but we were still told a pizza would take 40 minutes. Chef Nath's food took about that long, but it was worth the wait. The issue is, unlike a restaurant where the timing of ordering is under control, at Chomp, someone may have placed an order for a lot of pizza or Thai, and you're going to wait, wait, and wait. The BBQ place was dead; I don't think I saw one person order from that station. The reviews I read may be the clue, but I would expect they would be able to serve food quickly IF it is good; I don't know, didn't try, and never will. I doubt we will go back to Chomp, other than take out of Chef Nath's food again. It's a nice venue, but you can call it a food hall and food court (which you can find at the Mall); I'm not that impressed with the concept. I am an old fart, so maybe for the younger crowd, this is 'cool'. However, the fact that Chef Nath offers her outstanding food is a reason to go there. read more

Hadn't been to Chomp for quite some time. One of my social groups chose it for a gathering. Very disappointing. For starters, good bars don't serve beer from cans. Some of us can taste the metal. They did offer to pour it into a glass as if that was an extra service that fixed the problem. Food is served from a series of counters. Each is independent it seems. I ordered pad thai for $16 and added jumbo shrimp for another $12. I had to pay first and added a 15% tip. It took them a very long time to prepare the dish. They don't deliver to the table. I had to go back to their counter repeatedly for more than a half hour. When it was finally "ready," it was cold. There were only three shrimp. That makes them $4 each AND they didn't remove the tails. Made me wonder what the tip was for. A friend sitting next to me ordered a whole pizza - no slices after 5 PM. She ordered before me but her pizza arrived well after my pad thai. She immediately offered me a slice. It was COLD. It was easily the worst pizza I have tasted in a very long lifetime. Barely chewable. Could not even finish the slice. They used to have live music but, this night, it didn't happen until 8 PM. That was the end of the time they reserved tables for us. We had to vacate as the musicians were carrying their instruments in. During our three hours, the recorded background music was just the muffled thumping of a bass. No identifiable tunes. Sounded like a loop. Except for our group, the place was empty. Can't understand why Chomp is even in business. Won't go back. Can't wait to read that they have closed their doors forever. read more

We went on Saturday night around 6:30 and the only things open were the bar (which was great, love the bartenders!), Chef Nath's Cambodian place (she was out of all but 3 menu items, but they were good at least) and the pizza place (didn't try it). I did really like the pad Thai and the turmeric noodles (the latter was mild/subtle flavor but tasty - the pad Thai came with a spicy sauce). The spring rolls were ok but not that exciting, they were more like Vietnamese summer rolls and came with a nuoc Cham type sauce (sp?) Portions were perfect for a single meal, definitely no leftovers - which is probably where the complaints come from since most SE Asian places tend to give 2 servings per portion. So with that in mind it is pricier than average. Zaika, which supposedly was open til 7, was not. Really I think as a food hall they need to make an effort to have more vendors open during peak meal times. But, I will round up to a 4 since I enjoyed the options that I tried even though I was hoping for more choice. read more

Although the food hall is an agreeable environment with clean surfaces and well controlled volume, the "Santa Fe Barbecue" joint, which chomp shamefully harbors, is not only a disappointment, but a misrepresentation and disgrace to Barbecue. The flavors are lackluster and forgettable, the menu is limited, and the presentation is uninspiring-- all of which I would be willing to overlook if it weren't for the measly portion I was served. For a $14 ticket, I received not more than 1/4 pound of dry baby back ribs with a reserved drizzle of syrupy barbecue sauce, and a two-by-four tin of fossilize and cold Mac and cheese. Cleanliness and hygiene are also an unquestionable concern to anyone with culinary standards or general dislike of germs in their food. I regret giving this establishment my business. read more

I won't be back. Yes, it's conveniently located within walking distance of at least a couple hotels but there are so many good restaurants in town. The "barbecue" was... edible, but that's about all I can say. And it could have been warmer. The pizza, when it finally came out, was decent but it took a really long time. I got the impression that delivery orders might be taking higher priority. There is a free water station but when I ordered barbecue the guy didn't mention it and sold me a water bottle instead. We needed some silverware and I went to the pizza counter and asked for forks and knives and they only had one knife for our family to use. Overall the vibe I got from employees was "just get through the shift." I can see this being a fun hangout place for a group of college students if high-quality food isn't a priority. read more

Second visit to Chomp and was as sweet an experience as the first time. We especially enjoy Matt's custom cocktails with all the unusual tinctures and muddles. Last night I wanted something fruity and he came up with a hibiscus orange flower combo that was exactly what I wanted! He uses a fresh-picked juicy prickly pear muddle in the marg...so good! Everyone is so friendly, the Cambodian food is delish, so is the chicken sammie on croissant from the tea vendor. Love the Italian kiosk and local market items! What a disappointment. We popped in before a show Saturday at the Lensic. Ordered drinks first- had never been there- so asked the bartender, "how does this work?"( we did not realize it was a food hall right away)....The bartender was rude, abruptly waved his hand around and pointed to the stalls (only two of which were open other than the pizza place- the guy working there told us it was a 15 minute wait, just to place an order) Bartender stopped mid-service with us...to help another customer/ring her up?!? So odd that even the customer apologized about "jumping ahead of us." Ordered water which he never gave us, we had to go back and ask. Food options limited; many places closed-we ended up ordering from two different food stalls, the pokey nachos and fish and chips were good- albeit very pricey for the portions- but that's SantaFe. When I asked the chef if they had water- the response was, "Well yes but I have to go out back to get it." Right. Sorry to put you out. Never mind. I feel like COVId gave some people the excuse to just give mediocre service... which is a bummer, because I love to support local food/small biz. Lastly the ambiance/ thrown-together decor of this place is sad and looks like some random food hall in Bangladesh. This review is only for the wine bar. I went in for pizza and a glass of wine. The scruffy, unkempt bartender has a major chip on his shoulder. Got a glass of wine and it was the smallest pour I've ever seen. When I asked about their pour sizes, he brought over an empty glass with a line on it. My glass was about an inch below the line. He then charged me and put the pour glass away. I asked if he was going to give me a full pour and he said, "You want more?" Me: "Yes. I would like what I paid for." He begrudgingly added a bit more to my glass. I know it's difficult getting good help but what a j$%k! BTW, the pizza was delish. read more

We were on the hunt for a good Bloody Mary and came across a FB post mentioning Chomp Food Hall. The Bloody Mary is very good! I had such high hopes for this place. After living in bigger cities that food halls, I was so excited we were going to have one in Santa Fe. The good, Chef Nath's Thai food is too die for. A little expensive but worth it. Definitely some of the best This food I have ever had. The bad, everything else (especially the decor) I don't know who thought painting one giant wall red and then putting an old gross sofa against the wall was a good idea but it isn't it's looks weird and dated. Then there is the odd "shopping section" a bizarre assortment of things like, Local Honey which I like, but the most strange items, paintings of cows, giant gnome sculptures, zero waste products and frozen meat in a freezer. I could get past the odd assortment, but the hideous metal rolling cabinets they are displayed in are just ugly. I won't name the other restaurant but I tried another vendor there and the food was so old and dry tasting, I had to ask for my money back. I am excited to try the new Poke Bowl restaurant but will definitely pick it up to go. (And to be fair I don't drink so I haven't tried the bar so I can't review that.) But I would get the Thai food or Poke Bowl to go. The energy in there just has a very off putting environment. read more

I really want this place to succeed. Food halls are a good idea. They have a decent location and what could be a pretty nice space. However, like so many eateries in Santa Fe, it is ruined by a DIY interior that appears to have been thrown together over a weekend. Someone painted one of the walls orange and assembled some mismatched outdoor furniture and an old sofa, turned on the too-bright fluorescent lights, and called it good. No music, ZERO atmosphere. The biggest feature of the space is some fenced-off wire shelving. Visually, the vendor stalls all run together, and are undifferentiated by signage or branding. CHOMP has the atmosphere of a sad, dying swap meet rather than a vibrant food hall. And the bar, which is front and center, is always closed! It's a shame, because chef Nath's food and the poke bowls at Catch are pretty good. If CHOMP hired a designer and invested a little money on lighting and decor, maybe customers would feel like hanging out here and that it's worth it to spend their money on the food (which is not cheap). And maybe it might attract more than two or three vendors! read more

This is for Pedro's Pizza which we ordered from dashing delivery Saturday. We wanted something different so opted for sandwiches at Pedro's. They were both delicious and with the large serving we each had half left for lunch this week. The eggplant parmigiana sandwich was loaded with tender eggplant cooked perfectly. Added a little olive oil to the homemade focaccia. The side salad was generous as well. When the menu stated "a tussle" of greens I expected a small portion. Again enough for lunch when we combined. My wife had the muffuletta which was loaded with meat and cheese. She added tapenade and olive oil as well. We have yet to visit Chomp, but will make a point of checking it out soon. The Khmer/Asian food booth is great. Recommended. There's a pizza booth. It's too close to the bar. People drinking and people getting pizza are in each others' way. No complaints over the food. The night I happened to come in there was a five person band. They didn't play much music but they did spend an hour setting up, chatting with each other and being noisy. The space is shaped like a warehouse so everything reverberated. I got to hear what they played several times, all within a few seconds. There is one food booth that is not open with a sign over the register complaining about a lack of workers. There was a space advertising itself as a grocery without anyone working in it. It sells overpriced spices and necklaces. A sign over the register there directs people to the bar in order to pay. At the bar was one overworked bartender who seemed to be assisted by a man who spent a lot of time drinking. It looked like there were a lot of regulars laughing with one another and the assistant. The regulars told the bartender to refill their wine glasses. The assistant didn't help with that, but he would get behind the bar to fill his own beer. The bartender was his own bar back, taking all the orders, making all the drinks, running the till. An obnoxious and loud experience not worth the aggravation. read more

I love this innovative grouping of wonderful kiosks. For those of you that know Napa Valley, California, Chomp reminds me of Oxbow Public Market. It has room to expand, which will make it even more interesting. You can take whatever you order and sit outside in the lovely tree-shaded courtyard in between Chomp and one of my other favs, Radish and Rye. If it's cold outside, there is plenty of indoor seating. Why would I pay $10.99 for a supermarket-quality sushi roll - that's already overpriced at a dollar or two less than that at the supermarket? A big disappointment. read more

They say they are open Sundays. Hardly. There were two booths with workers. The first one ignored me, the second finally looked up and asked what I would like. I ordered tonkotsu ramen, and was told "only chicken today". I returned the sushi I had picked up, and left. Probably a good thing; the sushi was not fresh. As for the tonkotsu, I'll never know, because I'll not waste my time going back. Some tips for the owners of the hall; *Each establishment in the hall needs to stand up and stand out. If you can't diferentiate the individual little food establishments, none are appealing. It's all a jumbled mess. * Signage, signage, signage. If your customers can't quickly get an idea of what you're selling, you've missed your chance to make a good first impression. * If you say you are open Sundays, be open Sundays. "Only chicken," is not open Sundays. * When you have "an event" as I am told you did yesterday, order enough product to stay in business after the event. Why would you risk losing your steady and new business because you had an event? If you don't order it, you can't sell it. If you can't sell it, you have no business. read more

For those that remember Talin market before it closed down, this is where Chomp is located. We really enjoyed our afternoon here going to each stall to get our food - got great beer, cider and Bloody Mary from Bottega del Vino, rice and noodle bowls from Ocean Real Sushi but the highlight was Nath's Inspired Khmer Cuisine. We got the Lemongrass Turmeric Scottish Salmon, Beef Lok Lak and Pad Thai - all delicious and beautifully presented - not what you'd expect from a food court. And we took some lovely olive oil home from the Artisan's Bottega. Can't wait to come back when more stalls are open! There is plenty of seating inside but we chose to sit outside in the courtyard. This is a great concept with great food. Hope everyone patronizes them so we can enjoy it for a long time. read more

This is a great concept and alternative to the touristy spots nearby in downtown Santa Fe. High quality food stalls, a well-stocked bar, and a few boutiques in an open, airy semi-industrial space. Indoor and outdoor seating with lots of room. We had an awesome meal from Nath's inspired Khmer cuisine. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating is that several of the food stalls were closed so not to many choices. Luckily the one we picked was great. read more

The bartenders are quite friendly. They are putting in a giant pizza oven next to the bar that will bake patrons out of the place when it turns on.
