Read all of the 1 and 2 star reviews and most of it is true. No need for me to re-hash all what was already documented. I'm only giving it 2 stars because it's not the worst place I've ever stayed. But pretty damn close. My overall impression is that everywhere you look, it needs a renovation. Chipped paint, stained rugs, broken this or that - it's simply, in a word, tattered. Clearly the "resort" is making so much $ from booking non-stop weddings, rooms for families and Jersey boys, and collecting $ from local NJ residents for their sports offering memberships (tennis, basketball, gym, racquetball, etc.), that it doesn't make economic sense to shut the place down for 3-6 months and give it the renovation it so desperately deserves. This must have been the decision for the past 20+ years, because it is just SHABBY. My additional annoyances: our room's bathroom fan had a loud, grating, grinding, unbearable sound. Could not be avoided as fan was connected to the light. Unacceptable. Second, the bathroom sink did not drain. Unacceptable. Last, we tried to order room service and they said what we wanted to order was not available because that menu was out of date. So why put that menu in the room?!?! My favorite moment of the weekend is when we get a text from the manager asking how things are (which I'll give them points for the effort), encouraging us to book spa services, as apparently Minerals is in the "top 30 spas in the US and #1 spa in NJ". The fact that this hotel was part of a resort, I had high expectations when I stayed there last week for my niece's wedding. The hotel itself is in desperate need of a reno. My room was not clean. There was a used towel hanging on the tub when we checked in. I could not believe that my room was worse than a low-end Marriott hotel room. My partner and I chose to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary here at the Minerals Hotel. We stayed in the Junior Suite with the balcony and fire place and we were absolutely in love with the room. The spa was the highlight of the trip, Grace and Amanda gave us unforgettable facials while making us feel comfortable and relaxed during the entire experience. We had most of our meals at Kites Restaurant and our waiter Jason would go out of their way every time to get us what we needed. Everyone in housekeeping was polite, professional and extremely attentive to us , especially Millie, who made an extra effort to supply us with towels, pillows and whatever else we asked her for. My one and only note was that the Cabaret night wasn't exactly what I was expecting and the hostess for this event seemed annoyed and slightly on edge the entire time, going as far as to scold us for entering the room early, despite the doors being opened and nobody asking us to step out. We ended up leaving early. Overall, everyone at this trip was incredible and we are already planning our next visit! read more

Just back from the Father's Day bbq in the sweet grass pavilion . The food was DISGUSTING for $60 a person ! I'm appalled ! Had a party of 12....The shrimp was served still frozen (had to wait for it to thaw to eat it) , the oysters were warm (not chilled at all), the burgers were hockey pucks sitting in a tray (To make a cheeseburger you had to add cheese that would obviously not melt !) I wouldn't eat that at a home bbq let alone a restaurant ! Everything else was bland! Had to ask for salt ! I've gone to other events at this location for Easter and thanksgiving , but after this we're done! I can't believe they think this is ok!! I will call their offices tomorrow! read more

Don't believe the reviews! This is our go to resort. We've already gone there 4 times in 18 months I kid you not. I just love the amenities, the heated pools, the comfortable beds (seriously if I could take home the bed hehehe). They updated the furniture from the last time we came here. Kites food is amazing, pricey but keep in mind, this is a resort, so you get resort prices. They have archery tag, basketball courts, tennis courts, racquet ball, skeet shooting, fishing, petting zoo, massage spa, and 4 pools to choose from (one huge indoor pool). My boyfriend and I stayed at the Minerals Resort in late February. There was a requirement to stay at least two nights, which we did. The room was around $350 a night. We mainly stayed at the Minerals Resort to go snowboarding at Mount Creek. We arrived around 8 p.m. on Friday and planned to stay until Sunday. The room was clean, good-sized, and had a little balcony outside. Friday night, we went to their restaurant, which offered good food and service but was a bit pricey. The next morning, it was raining, so we were not able to go snowboarding. So, we went off to breakfast around 10 a.m., where they offered a buffet. We were unsure of what to do because of the weather, so we decided to go to the pool. Let's just say we ended up staying at the pool for over 4 hours. There was a small cave located indoors, which was a lot of fun. The pool was at the perfect temperature. The indoor pool attached to the outdoor pool was so much fun. Being able to hang out in a big pool that feels like a hot tub was amazing. It even started to drizzle a bit when we were in the outdoor pool, which just made me feel dreamier. The steam rising from the outdoor pool was the perfect spot for photos. On top of that, there was a small bar right by the indoor pool. The hotel also allows you to bring your drinks to the indoor and outdoor pools! There were also two other hot tubs, one located under a small waterfall from the main pool. In the pool area, there was also a small plunge pool. We drove up to Mount Creek to go snowboarding on Sunday after we checked out. Mount Creek was only a 5-minute drive from the hotel. We also had free access to a gym, rock climbing in the morning for the kids, and activities like shooting areas. Overall, the resort was very nice, and the staff was great. The hotel can be expensive, but it is a fun experience. I would stay again if I had the money. Many hotels offer the same stuff and more for the same price. read more

Use to be a great place. New management is horrible. They tell their employees to lie to the members and guests. Prices for everything went up. Was told by someone who works there that they are trying to push the members out . I didn't believe it until it happened to us. Mike, looks like you have a snake in your forest because yes you have employees there that do lie to the guests and members. Everything I stated is 100% true but I know that you have to say that it isn't. I've been a member there for a long time and I've never been treated so poorly by any establishment before like I was there. Meh. Definitely was not impressed with this hotel. I was super excited to visit after seeing the pictures but it definitely didn't look like the pictures at all. Check in is super late 4pm. We go there around 3 and we got a room but only because we were there for a wedding. Otherwise we would have waited on one of the worn out leather couches in the waiting area. To get to the rooms you have to walk through to steamy, wet, gross pool area. So by time you get to the other side it already feels like you went into the water. Not that big of a deal She heading to the room, super big deal wen you are dressed for a wedding and are wet by time you leave the hotel. The room is ok. Not really worth the price. The "kitchenette" is just a microwave and an extra small sink. Our had some Doritos that were left over by house keeping. I am not sure if that was a bonus or not. The fire place that goes on with a switch is barely a flame and get super hot. I didn't know it didn't have a timer and I left it on when we left the room and came back it was so hot it felt like a sauna in there. The sliding door was off the track so was super hard to open. And the house keeping gave me an attitude when I asked for extra pillows for my pregnant wife. The shampoo and conditioner they provide is shit and smells horrible. It is also like a maze going through the hall ways. Bottom line is I should have spent the extra $200 and stay at the grand Cascades Lodge which was a hell of a lot nicer. read more

UPDATE: 3/27/23 Went to minerals pool last weekend and there was such massive holes/cracks in the bottom of the pool they had these heavy sand bag things over them. My 2.5 year old daughter was terrified of them and wouldn't swim near it and eventually lead to us not being able to swim in the pool. Are these being fixed? So far this $870 membership has not been worth it and I'm beyond upset! Not to mention my guest who came with me also couldn't believe the amount of money I paid to have a pool that's literally falling apart and a death trap with these big holes and gashes at the bottom of the pool that we both kept stubbing our toes on. Additional comment AFTER HOTEL REPLY: I booked via a hotel agent I was quoted and confirmed a price -- upon check in (which is a little late) I was not informed nor offered the debit card option to avoid the 3.75% - I rarely post reviews as I have been fairly treated most everywhere I have stayed US, Europe, Asia Canada the Caribbean ..This hotel is not worth the extraordinary money they charge .. the upkeep to the grounds is minimal - an outdoor pool is heated and open for guest use and it is located right next to the sludge filled seasonal pools. Community membership to gym services was never disclosed at time of booking or check in .. and the extra fees are nothing more than a money grab I'll start with the flim-flam scheme : A 3.75% credit card convenience fee on the entire bill on top of municipal tax state tax lodging tax and a resort fee! I understand the CC customer fee small businesses request as it is a burden for them but a hotel/ spa where customers spend thousands of folders - come on this is a scam not a customer convenience! In addition to all the fees listed above they also add on a 10% SPA service fee on top of the actual service fee. The outdoor grounds around indoor pool area are unkept sludge in the larger outdoor pool and ponds ...activity areas in disarray. There is only one restaurant in the grounds - interior is dark and run down .. very messy dining most especially in the area opposite the bar with an extremely limited menu .. food is mediocre - (the do however serve large portions) .. coffee snack bar in the lobby is available but it closes at 2pm (why?) Lastly fitness / gym classes and pool are for community members and guests .. we were early spring and the equipment availability was limited early morning (7/9am and 7/9pm) can't imagine what peak season looks like for guests who are paying exorbitant fees for a full service spa experience. Room was clean and in good order.. however linens were rough on skin .. Massage was great - facials well done friendly staff.. the post service foot soak is nice touch but would recommend a good cleaning on tubs as black mold was clearly visible around top ring. From the indoor pool, to the outdoor heated pool, the rock climbing wall, S'mores out at the fire pit, the arcade, etc... we couldn't have asked for a more welcoming staff and a special shout out the the front desk manager Blake Dolan who made our stay extra special! Our retreat committee did an excellent job with their event here, but I was not impressed by the level of service from the hotel itself. The first incident was the washcloth ordeal. There were four of us in the room and no one had a washcloth upon arrival. I approached the front desk about it, and was told we would have to wait until the morning. Well, morning came, and there were still no washcloths. They were promised to our group (laid out on tables, no less), and there were still only hand towels and regular sized towels. At mid-day I was able to scrounge up 2 washcloths from the housekeeping staff but later in the day they took the wash cloths out the room. Finally, around evening, the washcloths came, with creases still in them. I am pretty sure they had been bought that day. It was likely the hotel staff did not anticipate the number of guests in the double occupancy rooms, which is simply poor planning and reflects negatively on the hotel. To make matters worse, the housekeeping came late in the day and only made our beds. The bathroom clearly wasn't cleaned and the towels were not folded nor swapped out. Our toilet did not flush on the first flush and the toilet paper was thin and flimsy. The pool was nice enough, but over-crowded, and you simply sank right down into it. I fell and scraped myself just stepping in. The walls to the rooms were thin and there was only one mirror (in the bathroom). A floor-length mirror would have been nice, and could have easily been mounted on the door of the room. The saving grace was their banquet rooms downstairs, which they seem to keep up, but the hotel itself is not one I would recommend, based on the service that weekend. read more

One star for the look of the property and the pool. My son is getting married today so nothing will ruin that BUT I've never paid so much for so little. We paid almost $700 for 2 nights and asked for a suite so the guys could get ready and take pictures in our room. We are in the basement in a handicap room. All I see are these beautiful balconies off everyone's room and we have a cement slab with one plastic chair. The room had no cups, no utensils. The bathroom looked like they ran out of supplies before they got to us. The bed is rock hard. I'm so disappointed. Oh and I wanted a cup of coffee with cream, went in search and had to pay $6.00 for 2 cups of coffee!! Even a motel 6 has free coffee in the lobby. UPDATE they screwed up the shuttles for my sons wedding and about 25 of my family members missed the ceremony. So yes, they did ruin the day for quite a few people. Lack of communication, THEY were running late with the shuttles, all they had to do was call ahead and we could have held the ceremony 15 mins. ** Seems like check in is an issue for a LOT of people if you read the reviews. So many of our guests were told they could check in early then when they arrived they were not allowed. read more

When my boyfriend and I found out that we would be attending a wedding here, we decided to make a long weekend out of it... big mistake. -The beds are ROCK HARD!! It felt like sleeping on concrete, I can't believe someone "okayed" these beds... I swear to god, there's no way enough people haven't complained about these beds for them not to do something about it. Clearly management has never slept in the beds or even sat on them. -The pictures online do NOT reflect how it actually is... the place is nice but a lot more run down than it looks online. -The outdoor pool are was gorgeous, I do have to admit that. But the pool was FREEZING COLD I swear the pool water was an ice bath. Such a shame because there were a TON of people at the pool but nobody was actually in the pool because it was way too cold. For the hotel price, they could at least install a heater. AND the other smaller pool which was heated, was TOO HOT! Who wants to go in a 95 degree pool when it's 95 degrees outside? Again, not sure how something like this could be overlooked. Does management even touch the pool or notice nobody wants to swim in it? -The food was WAY too overpriced and too subpar. Even the food we were served at the wedding was just ok, and the morning brunch the bride and groom paid for was nothing to speak up but probably paid a fortune for. -Although they did have a nice list of activities for the day, it sucked everything was an upcharge. Just about nothing was free or included. Again for the price you're paying to even stay there, it would be nice to have some included activities... especially since no food is included either. -The best part of my experience would have to be the massage I got at the spa. The spa was really nice... if anything I recommend that which is why I give this place at least two stars. I really wouldn't recommend this place at all, unless you're staying for a wedding. Sorry no amount of apologies from management could make up for the experience we had. Room key never worked, and I had to walk to the front desk 14 times for a new key. Because the room was so far away, that was well over an hour worth of wasted time. Front desk did nothing to help, and never sent anyone to repair it, even after I asked several times. All they said was to stop putting the key next to my cell phone because it was demagnetizing it. I never had it close to my phone though. It was always in a separate pocket. Most frustrating hotel experience ever. Food was not good overall, indoor pool was closed and under construction. Room was very small and our family members across the hall who paid the same price had huge rooms with balconies. read more

I would NOT recommend the Minerals Hotel. - The A/C unit blew moldy-smelling air. - There was an active leaking pipe in the ceiling in front of our door that the staff had only put a bucket out on the second night (but there was already a big water stain on the carpet a few feet wide) - The bed was rock hard. - The walls were quite thin and the guests were quite loud. They and Cascades Lodge down the road host many weddings - The front desk rarely had someone standing at the ready - they were constantly in the side room without eyes on the front desk. - It was difficult to find anything due to a lack of signage - so you'd have to ask the front desk (and you can see how that was frustrating in addition to the prior bullet point). - The whole hotel smells overpoweringly of chlorine. - If you're on the Lower Garden level - your rooms will face the axe throwing and animal farm. While the animals and their handlers were absolutely lovely and adorable, I could imagine some people don't like to wake up to a miniature horse whinnying loudly or the sound of goats baa-ing. The presence of so many activities just outside your bedroom window makes you want to keep your window shades closed the whole visit. - The Kites Restaurant was a fine experience but not fine dining. The prices did not reflect quality food. Partner couldn't get over the fact that they labeled the fries as "shoe string" but they came out clearly as regular fries. The primavera was incredibly bland. The milkshake was disastrously lukewarm. Overall, the cost is not matching the value. It'd be OK for one night for the convenience if you're attending a wedding in the same building. But I would not say this is a special place to visit. read more

0/10 don't recommend. My 2 girl friends and I stayed for a Wednesday night with the spa package. Upon checking in, the receptionist didn't give us any information about anything, just gave us our room number and keys. The layout of the hotel is ridiculous, and the directions need to be clearer. The double queen room itself was just a basic hotel room without a microwave nor a fridge. We got our dessert to-go after dinner because the restaurant waitstaff was taking forever, and that decision itself was the biggest mistake. The desserts were packed in a foldable paper box and we left them on the table, because where else would we put it... we woke up the next morning with dozens of ants all over our food, on the table, on the floor, and some on our arms in bed. SO DISGUSTING. I've never had a hotel room with that many bugs in it. We threw out the food and called the front desk, then waited 30 minutes and nobody came. So my friend physically went to the front desk to complain, and a maintenance guy came about 5 min after. After he sprayed some of the corners with repellant, he said housekeeping would throw out our ant-filled trash. We waited 20 more min, and left to eat breakfast because we were too hungry to wait. By the time we got back an hour later, our trash was still there. Unacceptable! Had to call the front desk again to get someone to finally come to empty the trash and wipe the table. The only compensation we got was $100 off our $700 package.... it didn't even cover our dissatisfying, overpriced dinner from Kites. If you do end up still choosing this place, call the reservation agent if you want one of the cheaper rooms. The smaller room didn't show up to book on their website though were indeed available. The only good experience we have about this hotel is the spa service on site. The only dining service available on-site was Kites, which is a whole different story, but to wrap it up better off eating dinner somewhere else. Or actually, just try Grand Cascades. read more

We went here for a friend's birthday party and it was just ok. We had never been to this facility and upon arriving it was confusing to try to locate which building the party was in. We went to the shack just beyond the main building and asked the person where the Hotel was and that we were attending a birthday party in the private room they had and she said she didn't know where it was but that the main building was right behind us. We turned around and then proceeded to find parking and we had to park pretty far away from the building as the lot was packed. Once we arrived we went up the third floor to the private room, walked in and immediately noticed the musty smell in the room along with the dusty, old light fixtures and tired worn tables and chairs. The tablecloths appeared faded. The chairs while cushioned had seen better days and many of them had stains, rips, etc. They had a buffet for the guests and sadly it was not great. I presumed the hotel restaurant provided the food - I am not sure - but the offerings were unappetizing, not very hot and not cooked well. The plates they provided were very heavy and a strange brown color. Water and soda were complimentary but for other beverages they had a small cash bar and since there was no refrigeration they could not offer cream-based drinks. The desserts provided were melting from the heat along with the birthday cake. The restrooms while clean smelled terrible. We felt so bad about these things as we knew our friend deserved better but we enjoyed the party otherwise. We also knew that this location was near where they lived and there are not a lot of other venues in the area especially on short notice. They ensured me I would have recently renovated and quite room. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that they gave me a Corner Luxury King room. I planned a 2 night/ 3 day getaway for my family and I this week for the 4th of July. I do not know if I expected too much but this place was a huge disappointment. For what they charge a night ($500+) it's down right shameful that they do not include anything. Most of the daily activities have an additional cost. They give you a $40 credit for breakfast knowing that their Kite restaurant is going to be overpriced so you will have to come out of pocket by a lot. The food there and by the pool was awful It has zero seasoning or flavor, and every dish was undercooked. The kite restaurant table was sticky. The waiter seemed aloof. It was my husband's birthday, and they whispered the birthday song. The cafe attendant took so long to create the simplest order and would give you what you didn't ask for. Her pace was painful to experience. It shouldn't take you so long to hand over a muffin and coffee. The pool attendants do not have a clue about the hotel they work for. All they can do for you is give you your wrist band. Save your questions. The room was tiny for it to be occupied by 4 people. And their elevator was like trying to solve a murder mystery. Whoever designed that was high. It makes no sense. You cannot utilize their sister hotel's pools but you can go and eat at their overpriced restaurants. They do not provide shuttles to go between two hotels. You have to drive yourself. The night front desk person is so rude, BRENDA. She would cut you off before you can finish your thought. She had a vibe like she didn't want to be bothered. The outside pool was freezing. The indoor pool was ok. The only positive thing I can say is that they let me cancel my 2nd night without penalty. I will NEVA come back to this place and if anyone asks me about my visit, I will discourage them from going because it's a HUGE waste of money. And to top if off they advertise to stay with them for the 4th of July and they didn't have any big event for our nation's biggest holiday, not even fire works! WHATTT!!! My package was the "Foodie Escape; Culinary getaway with stylish lodging and generous $200 resort dining credit per night" (This is their description on the website but, long story to short; I had frozen foods, overcharged hotel bill, and attitude employees... prefect mix-matching so horrible ). At the front desk, I was asking my hotel check-out invoice to the lady who was tilting her body, shaking her one leg, and no eye contact... she said, "you will get an invoice via email around 30 mins later". However, I wanted to see my invoice before I leave there because, want to make sure for both credit and deposit money are correctly calculated or not. Of course! Neither $200 food credit nor, $125 room deposit. Btw, breakfast was frozen foods-not real chef's foods-from any grocery stores. I requested revised invoice then, she tried multiple times for changing invoices. She revised the final invoice with credit $-200 and charge $+200 it means I don't get any credit (kidding? Lol) She provided me three different invoices and all three invoices' total are three different amounts and items (pls hire someone who can deal customers with a normal manner and who can understand basic mathematics) I tried to contact live person and even left my contact number but ... no way! it is impossible to talk to live person. Completely outdated, no refrigerators in the room, no coffee anywhere to be found that you could get complimentary... The food is absolutely awful and overpriced, not to mention the price of a room. The only reason I'm even giving this place a one star is because I can't give it a negative number. I came here all the way from California for my nieces wedding. She was so excited to show us this "amazing" resort .... NOT!!!! Our room was so unacceptable we were finally transferred to another one ... only to have the toilet in the new room clog within five minutes. The wood in the bathroom is rotting. The bed was broken and there was nothing that could be done until the next day ??? Consequently my husband and I got no sleep. The TV was disconnected from the wall and there was nothing that could be done until the next day ??? my husband wound up getting the TV turned on. So .... now comes the next day and wouldn't you know it .... the ceiling In the bathroom was leaking dirty water all over the place .... apparently the leak was in the wall cause I stepped out of my broken bed into wet squishy dirty carpet. My 80 year old mother was in desperate need of some neosporin and a bandaid .... the place doesn't even have a first aide kit .... not even a bandaid! I'm thinking that that alone is against the law. Save your money and find a real luxury resort! They also say it's family friendly, but you can't get anywhere on the grounds without going up and down stairs. There are no ramps, so forget using a stroller or wheelchair. The staff is completely unknowledgeable and couldn't tell me simple directions to get to the pickle ball courts without going up and down at least two dozen steps. This is by no means a luxury hotel. Checked In Day 1... front desk kids... Rude.. tried to call front desk to ask about breakfast.. after 20 rings .. rude kids gives me rude answer.. I thanked him nicely.. he hung up without addressing me.. WTF... I guess the 5 weddings going on in this zoo is stressing the staff... oh loud music outside $600 per night outdated studio with nasty fridge. This place needs work. Spa was nice but this "resort" is not worth the price. Every staff member we came across was unfriendly and unhelpful. The Minerals hotel and pools are very run down, pictures looked much nicer online. The chairs at the outdoor pool are honestly disgusting. They are broken, ripped and have peeling paint. My husband and I just looked around and laughed because it looks like a pool chair graveyard. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately we won't be back. On a positive note, stayed at Grand Cascades Lodge last year and would definitely recommend staying there if it's within your budget. read more

This hotel and the service provided help you appreciate home. Stayed for 1 night (too much) with the family. When entered the room we smell cigarette. First thing to do is to open the window, right. Wrong, found cigarette buds from earlier stay that was not cleaned. Went to receptionist. Representative was apologizing and shocked. Unfortunately, no alternative room available. Told us that she will report this unfortunate situation (she forgot to report). At 11pm had to wait for cleaning lady to do her work (with 6YO child). Smell stay:( At checkout, representative (Vinny) was aloof to the situation (I am sure he is used to this). Was not trying to help and was not aware that he is working in the service industry. We are lucky that he did not asked us to help him cleaning the hotel. When asked to see a manager, he was "nice" enough to explain that he thinks that he is the right guy to talk to (he is not. We wanted to speak to someone who understands service). To make the finale, we found a dead mice at the side entrance. Vinny was "nice" enough to offer us a free future stay. We DONT WANT TO COME BACK EVEN IF YOU PAY US. If you want to stay at a place that does not provide service, is not clean, and does not care about his guests, this is the place (just bring gloves and cleaning materials). Overpriced and dingy room! There was a hint of a sordid odor once we entered, despite the decent look of the room. I turned my oil diffuser on to balance out the smell and cranked up the AC. The coffee maker was deplorable! It had stains on it. Housekeeping was kind enough to try to clean the coffee maker but to no avail. It just needed to be replaced. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the pool area and sauna. It wasn't so packed at the times we went, but as the day progressed beware of the small children running and splashing around. I suggest going at night. Pool closes at 11:00 PM some days. I also enjoyed a deep tissue massage from the spa downstairs. My sister and I had individual rooms that the masseuse adjusted to our liking. I suggest having Laura! She was professional and made sure to regularly ask me about my comfort level. read more

awful. I'm literally shocked place is passed by board health. I was a member a few years back. Hot tubs, saunas smell. Equipment is outdated, And dysfunctional. Housekeepers rude. One day I was running 8 am on Treadmill, Housekeeper cleaning floor behind me, nipped me with mop. I complain and was told I was wrong. Lockers barely work. U need to go get desk staff. The entire place smells. Pools etc .often closed. Hotel uses facility, often big parties trash the place. Save your money. I did use hair salon once or twice, that was actually good. Outdoor pool has loud , sloppy guests overflowing from bar. Area around pool , stone very slippery. I saw a few people slip. Pools overcrowded. UNDERWHELMING. I was very disappointed with our stay at Minerals "resort". I had high hopes, after reading the website and speaking with 2 agents prior to booking. The devil is in the details and to always read the fine print; but, the website is misleading. The website omits key material facts, known in advance I either would've stayed at the Lodge or just gone elsewhere. We managed to make the most of it, but I felt duped (bait and switch). The hotel doesn't support cost/fees charged, and facility/service is below average quality. People are nice, but not professionally trained in service industry. Doing their best, but level of service doesn't support moderate expectations. Expect more at the price point. The accommodations were average/low quality (bed and pillows hard). vending and ice machines in halls (more mid level motel). The quality of the sheets, towels, products etc. do not support the rates and fees. Enter the hotel lobby and met with intense smells of chlorine and sweaty gym. No mid or high end resort put indoor pool/gym area off lobby. Worse, you must walk through gross indoor pool area to get to/from room. The only option is to go long way around through empty ballroom (creepy). I liken the hotel as the Spirit Airlines of hotels. Be prepared to pay for everything, including a game of pool (I was shocked to find a $5 charge to shoot pool - it's free at the Lodge). The website misleads people into believing your stay is "inclusive", but it is not no matter what they say. The game room and arcade are outrageously expensive, which is explains why they were always empty. Imagine charging $15 for 30 minutes of gaming per console with no flexibility in splitting your time to play more than one game. Parents have to be present regardless of age, but there is no seating except for a long wooden bench. The arcade games are $2-3 per game, which doesn't go very far. They even charge to use the small rock climbing wall in the gym area. Their pool policy limits the number of towels you're allotted, and I was even told if I wanted extras to return to my room as there are some in there! The pool longe chairs are low quality plastic and do not have cushions. The biggest flaw of the pool area is NO UMBRELLAS. If you manage to find a spot in the "shaded" area, you have no visibility of your kids in the pool (you can't see the "cliff" jump. They have very strict rules for kids (think anyone under 16), and doesn't allow for any flexibility. The website promotes Minerals as the family friendly option of the two properties, but fails to disclose the strict rules for kids under age 16. This age group cannot be in game room or arcade alone, cannot use the hot tub or be anywhere independently. Not everyone under the age of 16 is similarly situated nor should the same rules apply to teens as to those 10 and under. The hotel should make it clear what to expect, so people can make informed decisions. Do not bring your teens to this hotel under any circumstances. The website and booking agents do not disclose to potential hotel guests they will be surrounded by a large number of local residents who live in the surrounding areas/towns who are "members" of the facility. The hotel was at 40% capacity (or less), but the place was overrun with local residents and their guests using the gym, pool and activities. My intent was to spend time at the Minerals hotel, not the Hamburg community. There is a constant flow of outsiders throughout the day and evening, using the facilities, which isn't relaxing, takes up all the space at the pool area, creates lines to order food, and creates higher risks for security and safety. This also made using the spa next to impossible. There was zero availability and scheduling flexibility at the spa, and it's hard to manage the limited activity schedule with the spa schedule. Activities are only offered at certain times over the course of the day, which makes scheduling other things very difficult. The food was just average, considering the prices. There are no options, and Minerals has you over a barrel. The area has nothing to offer, (pizza place and limited fast food). The local towns are not cute and have nothing to offer (no cute shops or restaurants). You're stuck, so you pay. The best meal was breakfast, and it's painful when a side of bacon is $10! This is not a resort, no matter what they want to call themselves. Marketing and website mislead you resulting in over promising and under delivery. If I were to go back, it would be at the Lodge, and then a one night stay suffices. They want to be something they're not, and I'm not sure they can ever be given the location. The Lodge is certainly not worthy of a 5 star resort rating, which is what they call themselves. read more

The facility was very dirty. No effort made to keep up with removing garbage, ect. The outdoor grill was horrible. They pre made burgers then put them back on the grill after an order was placed. This was not done in the past, but I heard they have new management. Needleless to say a $17 burger was a hockey puck. Also came with a handful of stale broken chips. This was after I asked for a fresh burger. Definitely would not recommend. read more

Minerals resort was not what I expected to say the least. We pull up to what resembles a kids day camp. Screaming children swarming the resort like a tiny zombie takeover. We decide to keep and open mind and make the best of it. (Keep in mind the website showed none of this.) The room was perfectly accommodated for my sister who is handicapped, which was greatly appreciated. Rooms were clean and well kept with a spacious bathroom and plenty of storage. The pool area was all about seating. There's plenty of places to choose and we found that the closer to the sprinklers it provides enough space while still being close to the action. The tiki bar and the food outside was amazing! This was our saving grace. The food was delicious and service was quick. Drinks were strong which gave the screaming children more of a white noise ambience effect. The biggest downfall of the resort is Kites Restaurant. Understaffed, long waits, unhappy people. We stuck it out and sat at the bar instead of waiting for a table. Friendly bartenders and the food seemed to arrive quicker. I would suggest eating an early dinner or having some drinks and taking your food to go. read more

This trip has been a trip from hell. - When we booked our spa hotel package we were told we didn't need to schedule the spa yet and then when we called a few days before to ask they said no you needed to book it that day with the package so now our spa day is after check out on Sunday. -the girl who sang in the cabaret was great! But the comedian started his set making fun of Down syndrome and his show just continued to tank from there and he knew it. - they messed up our archery reservation and sent us on a wild hike all over to property to find the spot where this is supposed to be only to call back to the lobby and it wasn't happening it was actually at a whole other resort. - they ask when you book about any allergies and I have dangerous food allergies to which they messed up every meal for us. At the restaurant I couldn't eat anything which they told us when we got there and they made me a straight cheese pizza with nothing else on it but tons of olive oil which you could not eat. Breakfast buffet was cold and not worth the $30 voucher plus the money on top of that to cover the remainder. Lunch at the Kite, we decided on room service and told them about the allergy, the food comes back covered in what I cannot eat or end up in a hospital. I had to wait for them to come back with a meal cooked and they gave me a burnt burger with a side of gross Mac n cheese that was runny like soup. The dinner and show they didn't say anything about the fact it is buffet style which just led to long lines and people in cramped corridors while on line with maskless people with no mark enforcement. We asked someone if I could eat anything here, (again we were asked for food allergies when booking and alerted them to the fact they are dangerous) and the man comes back 15 min later saying everything is covered in my allergy. They were supposed to make me a whole new meal to which I waited about 45 min and they didn't even ask me what I wanted / could eat and came with salmon which is still a no no under my allergies. They came back and offered us a free bottle of cheap wine and we got fed up and left. We walk back to our room and our phone is ringing and they are surprised that we have left and offered me a rib-eye. Got the rib-eye which was not seasoned at all so we just ordered pizza and called this whole dinner a bust. -if you go to dinner at spring bistro, try to get seated inside. The tent situation they have outside is not safe. It was so windy we could not eat our meal without hearing metal banging together. A tall waiter came in to the tent, picked up a wine barrel and put it up against the tent plastic to try to keep it down from blowing against us. The supervisor on duty could do nothing for us and is having their superior call us tomorrow. Will update tomorrow as my stomach continues to growl for the rest of the night since this steak is still no where to be found. read more
