For the first time in more than 25 years of going to this establishment, I was completely disrespected and then after being sent to the end of the line, when I only wanted a menu, and spending more than 30 minutes in line, I was told that the kitchen was closed in spite of the fact that the website claims that it would be open for more than 2 more hours from my arrival. As always when I'm at a bar & grill or pub, I eat sandwiches with meat. The bread on this French dip was so good and soft. The au jus was steaming and a perfect combo. The waffle fries were excellent, not really offered around other restaurants in the Palouse. The fry sauce was unique and had a twist to it that I very much enjoyed. Cool vibes in here with many pool tables and good space. My friends and I had a good time competing with each other while listening to our touch tune music. This place is a pool hall first and foremost, but we got a tip at the local F.O.E. that they made a great bar steak ($18.95). Spot on info. It's not on their online menu, and we would never have know otherwise. I knew my inlaws couldn't possibly finish their steaks, so I went Club Sammie, and it was massive. I loved the Club, but samples of their ribeye has me already wanting to go back and order their beef. Wifey loves Steak Fingers, and theirs were very well prepared and not breaded strips of leather. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. It has a more local flavor, rather than a place that caters to the university crowd. This is one of the most under-appreciated bars in Moscow - an oldie but a goodie. It's a pool hall above all else, with plenty of tables to go around. They also have a bar/tables where they serve food, as well as another seating area around a great big TV - perfect for Monday night football. The food isn't fancy, and the bartenders keep it real, but that's why I love it. If you're waiting 20+ min for a table at one of the trendier breakfast spots, give Mingles a try. Hamburger tasted great with fresh, green lettuce and a good-quality tomato. The fries were kind of meh, however. This place was GREAT! The drinks were priced well, the food was priced well and everything was great! I had a butterscotch kamikaze and oh mannnnnnn it was good. Today was my dads bday and we've never had a bad meal or experience here until now. It started out great with nice welcoming staff and we ordered drinks...we all had different ones and everyone was happy. Then we ordered appetizers; breaded mushrooms and poppers. The breaded mushrooms were heavily breaded and over cooked but still good. Poppers were great/not overcooked. Drinks were timely and then the staff disappeared. When she finally came back we ordered a bacon burger, mushroom burger, two surf and turfs, and a seafood combo. All meals were finally served and took a good while to do so...all meals came except my moms seafood combo. The bacon burger was good (huge pieces of bacon), the mushroom burger had NO mushrooms, and both the surf and turf with fries were well, well, overcooked, tough, and cold. Meanwhile we checked on the seafood combo on three separate occasions and no one seemed too concerned that the rest of us had eaten and were done...when she finally got her food, it was perfect...not overcooked, salad was great, and all the fish nicely done...when they served her plate they asked if we wanted take home containers and my mom said I just started mine so I don't know and the rest of us were done but didn't want to keep the food we did have. Another waitress came by and asked how everything was and my mom said it was terrible because she just got her meal and everyone else was done and meals were tough and overcooked. The waitress then says well that's too bad but I hope your birthday was good and just walked off...we sat there had desert we brought in (I called the day before to see if they have desserts and they don't but didn't mind if I brought some so I did. I cleaned up all the stuff and even brought garbage bags to not leave the restaurant a big mess...waited for the bill and ended up tipping the lowest amount I have given in years when 10% was acceptable. I don't like to not leave tips and am a very generous tipper...I have a ton of respect for restaurant workers and small businesses. I also have always loved Mingles but tonight's service and food was inexcusable for the poor quality of both.! There was absolutely no compensation offered for the ridiculously long wait for food and poor quality. Had they even attempted, I would have left a decent tip if they made an attempt to rectify it. I do not like to leave bad reviews but this was definitely earned. We won't be returning anytime soon. I wish them well in making it through the pandemic but if it stays like this, I don't see how. I'm never a one star reviewer. But I tried to walk in with my friend at 11:12 pm. April 24, 2021 and the bouncer started looking at my ID. He examined it for a while, me thinking he was going to let me in. Well turns out he pockets my ID and tells me he could either keep it or call the cops. I tell him please call the cops this is my ID, it's from Nevada so I understand his doubt. He continues and tries to intimidate me, aggressively. By telling me he will call the cops and he's heard every excuse in the book. I tell him I need that to fly home. After a while he tells me it's my " Lucky Day!" Come in. I refuse and take my ID. And he try's and get me to still come in. I politely tell him no thank you and have a nice night. This is the last time I spend time at this establishment. I come here some nights and am happy to spend and tip the bartenders well. But this encounter off put me. I will take my business someplace else. He was just so rude, I understand with all the college students but really, he pulled out a book and checked and still gave me a hard time. Don't take my ID that's illegal, the fact that I'm actually 24. Just kills me. Thank you mingles. Will be telling my friends about this unnecessary incident. read more

I went to this place this afternoon to watch the Gonzaga MBB game. I was approached by a bouncer after about an hour at 5 p.m., he picked up my drink, set it on the floor, and re-examines my ID. I'm an almost 30-year old person, and to have my drink set on the floor was totally disrespectful. I will never come back. What an awful experience. The place itself is ok they have pool shuffle board darts and a couple arcade games. Hard to get a pool table on the weekends and no way to reserve a game. What carries this place (although I haven't had there food) are the insanely cheap drinks. During happy hour you can get $2 mixed drinks and shots, and they're regularly only $3. Mingles is great if you want to play bar games like foosball, pool or darts... there are more than enough tables and spaces to fit in a game or two. The cliental is typically town regulars who at times can be pretty unwelcoming to newcomers, so if you are planning on stoping in be sure to wear your carhart jacket and jeans or you may get some looks! The drinks are a bit watered down, food is not always the best... this is one of those local places that you end up after a long night and you don't care about any of the above. read more

I've been to this bar several times. For a while it was twice a week. I like playing pool so I overlooked a lot of bad qualities that this bar has. First of all.... they have terrible service. AWFUL! I never get my drink from the server... always go to the bar. The drinks there really aren't that much cheaper than Washington. What set me over the edge though and made me not want to go back was Wing Wednesday. Wing Wednesday is my favorite night to go in. They do have some of the best wings in town. However, I waited 37 minutes for 8 wings. My boyfriend even went up to the bar and asked about it. They had no explanation or apology. It was 7:55 when I ordered the wings. They weren't that busy.... During this whole time the waiter never came and checked in on us or apologized/explained the wait. Yes, there wings are good but.... not that much better than Valhalla. read more

I have come here since it opened way back when (1980?) and was called the Corner Pocket (you can still see the CP logo on the pool lights). Was a great place. Had many a pool game and ate lots of food. Taught my kids how to play pool here. But lately it has just been going down hill. The service has become almost non-existent requiring one of us to go up to the bar to get drinks while playing pool. The quality of the food is not as good as it used to be. And the consistency is not there either. The sticks (tater-tot like fries) may be under-cooked or they may be way overcooked to the point of inedible. If you take them back up for replacement, they look at you like it's your fault they're that way. The chairs don't look like they have been repaired or upholstered in decades. The good thing: the pool tables. They generally keep them in good shape and they are full size -- not those coin-op abominations. You should go there to shoot pool. That's the only reason. read more

Came in to watch the WSU game last Friday...server took our drink, appetizer and entree order right away, but forgot the appetizer completely. No harm, no foul. She asked my date if she wanted a refill on her diet RC cola, then never came back with it. I had to go to the bar and get the refills about fifteen minutes later. By this time, we had a new server and it took awhile to get our check. Then, we got ANOTHER server and finally got our check and to go boxes. Overall, the food was okay, but the service? Great place to go for a drink, atmosphere is usually calm. Waitress remembered me when I had only gone once, which was very impressive. They have good specials every day, especially the Wednesday wing special. The wings are really big and they have really good sauces at a great price. Every time I come here I've been pretty satisfied. Sometimes the crowd can get a little noisy near the area sliding puck table but it's a bar so it's to be expected. Also, they've been out of angry orchard a lot when we go. Almost every other time. They should really keep a keg on backup. read more

In Mingles on Wednesday for wing night as usual one waitress on the floor working her ass off three other employees talking at the end of the bar I call them the storytellers. Out of wings at 6:30 on wing night. I ordered a burger took one and a half hours to get it. If you want a drink you have to go up to the bar and get it and interrupt story time. one less storyteller and one more waitress would help. I hope the waitress dosn't have to share her tips with the storytellers. read more

Seems to be a nice enough place for hanging out, shooting pool, and having a beer. Got a bit of that dive sports bar sorta vibe, which I don't mind, but plenty rough around the edges. Chairs with torn upholstery, dust, that sort of thing. But.the.food.is.horrible!!! I should have realized there was a problem when I saw how empty the table seating area was. Clearly, others in town have also figured out not to eat here. Fries - soggy, limp, greasy, and cold in the middle. Wings - tasted like they were microwaved rather than fried. None of that crispy snap on the skin like a decent wing should have. Soft and mushy like it was nuked from frozen but not long enough - cold in the middle. Fried mushrooms - greasy and slightly crisp on the outside, cold in the middle. Fried from frozen, but only barely. Chicken tenders - more of a beige color rather than the golden brown you'd expect from a fried food. Lukewarm on the inside. Again, fried from frozen, but only barely. Someone seriously needs to teach the kitchen staff how to work a frier - turn up the temperature and fry it longer. It's a simple concept. Salad - cheap iceburg lettuce with slightly off tasting tomatoes. And it's all super expensive! Couldn't believe the bill when I received it. Charging that much for food that bad. The service was friendly enough, but tends to be slow - particularly if you need a drink refill. The bottom line, come for the billiards or to hang out but save your money and eat elsewhere. The whole place is dark and quiet-as-the-dead (no sound on TV's), tables are dirty and wobbly, and the upholstery on the chairs is in really bad shape. Service is slow too. Our server never refilled our drinks. The food is just so-so. The prices are reasonable, but there are other places in town that have much better food, so we're not likely going to eat here again. read more

If I could give them less than the one star, I would. I visited this place last week with my family while they were in town before I started school. We got here after cruising up main street at around 11 pm. We get to the door and I show my ID and make my way into the bar. After I take 3 steps in, a bouncer comes up to me and says I look like I'm intoxicated. Mind you, I was not very intoxicated. This bouncer then informed me that I could come in, but I wasn't allowed to drink. It all seemed so random that he would just come and cut me off. Even my family agreed that I wasn't exhibiting any signs of heavy intoxication. I felt very singled out and humiliated in front of my family. I can only speculate as to his motives, but of all the members of me and my family in attendance, my ID was the only one that indicated that I was a veteran. I feel this place discriminates against veterans. On top of that, the upholstery on the furniture was all torn and looked like it was bought at a swap meet. The floors were all sticky too. I can't recommend anyone patronize this establishment. May be an ideal candidate for Bar Rescue. read more

Went on Seahawks Sunday, but since a couple of good ole boys at the bar were watching the cheese heads they delayed the Seahawks game for 15 minutes while the cheese heads finished THEIR game.... hmmmm. Full of pool tables, minors allowed until 9 PM, big screen TVs, etc. You'd think the owner would get a clue. ...and yes as stated by everyone else, although there were only 12 people total in the whole bar... we had to go up to the bar to get service. If you are into pool they have the best tables in town, but watch out for these crooks. Twice I've been in and been charged for drinks I didn't order (both times the cocktail waitresses). GO TO THE BAR AND ORDER YOUR OWN DRINKS, pay in cash on the spot or close your tab immediately to avoid this scam. Also watch out for the advertised drink prices, they aren't always accurate and THEY WON'T HONOR THEIR ADVERTISED PRICE. Anyways last thought on this place would be... I used to live in this pool hall during college. I probably spent four to five hours a day every day in here back in the 1990s. Recently stopped back in after going to a football game with my son and was absolutely horrified at how bad it was. 9 p.m. on a Saturday evening there must have been three people in the entire place, back when I was in college there would have been hundreds in there. The chairs at the tables are bad office chairs from a 1980 doctor's office that must have been bought at a thrift store. Me and my son ordered a hamburger to split and it was almost impossible to eat. I was not offered a glass for my beer, the waitress never brought utensils I had to go ask for them. She never brought ketchup for the french fries or onion rings. The decor hasn't been changed in 30 years the pool tables look run down and a carpet is filthy. I must have eaten three hundred of those hamburgers in college, no way would I go back. I know the place got sold at least once roughly 20 years ago maybe it's been sold again but whoever owns it has no clue what they're doing and hasn't put a dime into it sad. read more
