They serve mediocre dishes that seem mostly fresh and the cost is on par with all the other similar options in the south. The taste is obviously dulled down in spice and sugary to suit the mostly Americanized crowd in the area, but if you expect anything more in Tipton County, TN, I've got a bridge to sell you. I am so disappointed in this restaurant and will not go there anymore. Although the staff is very nice, the food left a lot to be desired. The dining area and grill were clean and our server was attentive. We went on Sunday evening at 5:00 and the food seemed like it was left over from lunch. Items were dry and sparse. I saw a staff member take dripping wet lettuce leaves to the salad bar with bare hands. She then proceeded to tear it while standing there. There were no wontons in the wonton soup, just a pan of broth. When I asked for more I was told they were "making more". After 45 minute I gave up hoping. I bit into an egg roll and was surprised with a splash of cold oil. Lo mein noodles tasted like dust. Not one person in our party was satisfied. I placed an order to be picked up online and paid for it and they gave me the wrong order. Gave me someone else's order that cost way less than mine and then called me to apologize and then the same sentence turned around and became extremely indignant, rude, and passive aggressive saying oh I have customers in front of me, but you gave me the wrong order and gave somebody else my food I used to love this place, but they have now become extremely passive, rude, dismissive, unprofessional, and just flat out, entitled, as if they're the only restaurant in the world and screwing up peoples orders and having a problem with It ridiculous and they need to be. Don't by any means ever go to this place. It is literally the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to in my life. I went earlier today, about 10:00, and I had the broccoli and chicken, some lo mein and some honey chicken. To start off the noodles reeked of pure vinegar, I think? It was an acidic smell followed by a strange film over each individual noodle, as if they had become rancid. I tried to get some more, same deal each time. Vinegary smell, film of something? The honey chicken was supposed to be deep fried, but it was more like raw snot wrapped around a Chicken nugget, the texture itself was enough to make you gag. Funny enough, the flavor was actually okay on these, but the texture destroyed the experience for me. Last thing, the Brocoli Chicken, it was absolutely disgusting. I ate a piece or two of it, which was yet again a soggy shell of what it was meant to be. The chicken was ICE COLD in the middle. It was so cold to the point where it gave me that strange feeling on my teeth like when you drink ice water and chew gum. It was absolutely disgusting, i swallowed a piece of it. I'm praying it was cooked and just not properly reheated at the very least. As I arrived home, I am already experiencing the lovely symptoms of food poisoning. A good location and lots of space at Ming's and the staff is friendly. However, the food is better at basically every other Chinese place in Tipton County and the prices are rather high. Unless you are a big eater and my husband and I are not, you are not going to get your money's worth. They also don't seem to have a policy on customers sticking their hands in the food and trying a bite of something. They need to hire someone to watch people in the lines at all times as that is very unsanitary. My advice is head up the road in Covington to a couple of other places if you want a more affordable more tasty meal. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. We were greeted by a young lady that was talking on her phone. The whole time she showed us to a table and took our drink order she continued to talk on it. I even committed about it and she never stopped. She messed up the drinks because she wasn't listening to us, but to her phone. It's sad because it was just my husband and I. The food was old, dried out and in general badly prepared. And to make matters worse the price was out of line for what they offered. Sushi that has no fish in it and cereal bars for deserts. This is our go-to spot for Chinese buffet when visiting family up in Atoka, TN. Their selection is always the same, varies a little at times, but is always good. Their sushi is actually pretty decent as well. Restaurant is very clean and well maintained, seating is spread out well enough that you don't feel like you're intruding into other's spaces either. Their grill is pretty decent also, but it depends on who is working it that night. Sometimes it's perfect, but other times you wind up with something a bit overcooked or drenched in way too much sauce. If you're in the area looking for a decent afternoon/evening meal, it's worth stopping by. And you can walk to Wal-Mart afterward and burn off the calories if you ate too much... read more

This place was just ok... never received a drink refill the entire time we were here...some food was warm some looked like it had been on the buffet for quite a while. My Student Life Activities director took a group of us to Ming's as appreciation for helping with a program at our college. There was a variety of food and mostly everything that I put on my plate was good. There were a few dishes that I didn't try because I just didn't like the way they looked but overall everything was good. The people who work there are not very friendly but they aren't rude either...if that makes sense. They pretty much come across as people who are just there to cook and refill the food and take payments. I also didn't like the fact that they stand right there at the food tables/buffets as you fix your food. I don't know about anyone else but their presence RIGHT at the buffet table made me uncomfortable. They did come to refill our drinks but they didn't come to refill them very often and we had a pretty large group. To sum it up, if you're looking for affordable, hot chinese food then this is the place to go while visiting Covington. read more

Inconsistency is the norm here. Let's face it, a buffet is what it is. I usually try tiny little hummingbird portions of most items. Some look gross and I won't touch them. On my last visit the sushi was overly dry. I know not to try most of the desserts. Unlike some others' experiences, I have never experienced rudeness or being hovered over. Ming's has good tasting food at better-than fast food prices. On Tuesday and Thursday, they offer a full buffet for $5.99 per person. This buffet includes: salmon, shrimp, pork, and a selection of chicken and beef dishes. They offer traditional rice and noodle dishes, as well as soups. A sushi bar is also included. My preferences for dessert choices are the fresh pineapple and cantaloupe. If you have a child with finicky taste, they offer cheese pizza slices.My husband and I go for lunch a few times each month and find the food to be consistently good. I am amazed that they can afford to offer such quality food choices for what you would pay for a cheap burger combo at the drive through. read more
