I placed a phone take out order of ribs for one $21.99 per the menu in Yelp. I wasn't told they no longer offered it and when I picked my order up it was a few dollars under $50! I got ok ribs, 2 sides (not a serving for two people). No bread or rolls were included. Oh, and the wall menu states in small font, Ask for prices on ribs for two. !!! DATE YOUR MENUS or honored what is published. If you advertise on a site, make sure your menus are updated. I've eaten there and been pleased in the past but they just lost me as a patron. Had very little BBQ sauce on either. When asked for more sauce I was given two little 1 oz cups with about 1/2 oz of sauce. Why not provide a bottle of sauce? Baked beans tasted like they were right out of a can. Hushpuppies were small and overcooked in oil. Food came out cold. I will not ever go back. Sausage and cheese plate was ok. Got an order to go on the 4th for lunch. It was really warm in the restaurant while waiting. Glad I was getting an order to go as it was uncomfortable. BBQ plate came out relatively quick. When I got home I was disappointed to see the BBQ chopped even finer than Top's BBQ. Almost had to eat it with a spoon. I am in Millington for work and stopped by here to get some BBQ. I found the menu to be a bit confusing (I.e. the "slab for one" is huge and for the price of about 36 bucks could be two meals) but the food was good. I think they should be more clear how big the portions are or at least provide photos online. I got the slab of ribs for one served wet (dry rub with sauce too), with hush puppies and fries on the side and they included garlic toast. The ribs were moist and flavorful with a great taste like I hadn't had before coming from CA. The hush puppies were good but the fries and toast were just okay. New location!!! The Millington location is now on hwy US 51. Doors open to the public on June 10, 2019. This new location (closer to Millington) is located next to the Wyatt Earp steakhouse. Expect the same delicious BBQ and fixins you remember from the Kerrville location. Expect the same hometown service too! They've made some changes in location, setting, and even added some new menu items- all of which make me want to keep returning!! Even though the building looks different- the food quality, fair cost, friendly staff, and Awesome peach cobbler hasn't changed at all!! Absolutely love Pig-N-Whistle! It marks everything off of my bbq tick box except for a variety in sauces. When I go to a bbq joint I want a variety of sauces to choose from, not just one. With that being said our food has always been fantastic when visiting. I devour the garlic toast that the table is supplied with! My go to sides are the hush puppies, baked beans and potato salad. The potato salad is mayonnaise based and is superb! The green beans are just canned beans so I would skip those. Also, the fried okra could use some seasoning in the batter. At least some salt. The staff is always very helpful and is partly the reason why we come back time and time again. read more

Pig-N-Whistle is my favorite place to visit when I'm in Millington, TN. Every time I dine in or take out, I get good portions of solid BBQ! When you first approach the restaurant, you'll notice it looks pretty old and worn down. The inside is very basic and worn down, but you don't go to a BBQ joint to sit at a white tablecloth table...you go to sit at a bench and chow down. They have a small bar inside the restaurant as well. I think they only serve beer though. The prices at Pig-N-Whistle are good and nothing is super expensive. Last time I visited, I ordered the fried pickles and the BBQ sandwich plate with potato salad and cole slaw. DELICIOUS! I've had the ribs before and they come either dry or wet, both being good! The service is hit or miss. I've had great servers before who are on point, and I've had other servers that are average. Nothing has been terrible though and I'm always visiting when I'm in town. A very interesting interior. however pretty thoroughly average BBQ place. They're menu is pretty varied for types of BBQ, however given it's distance from most places, and the hype; it just doesn't meet the mark. Portions are small (this is the south, aren't we supposed to indulge here?), everything except the BBQ (sides, tea, ect) were on the point at average (Denny's comes to mind), and it's just not horrible, but not all that it's cracked up to be. read more

It's a shame I only discovered them right before I moved, The ribs were great, I had mine dry and my husband had his muddy. They got that part down! Service was fast, friendly and attentive. Ate here for lunch earlier this afternoon with my mother and grandmother. First impression was not a good one because there was someone in front of the restaurant trimming the bushes. There were bush trimmings all over the parking lot and there was an extension cord plugged-in in front of the door that we almost tripped over. LOL But after we walked in we were greeted right away and sat at a table very fast. After we ordered our food it took about 10 to 15 minutes to get to the table. Not too long of a wait, and the food was awesome! My grandmother ordered the fried catfish and she said that was the best catfish he had ever had in her whole life! Our waitress told us they have all you can eat catfish every night! I ordered the barbecue sandwich plate and my mom ordered the barbecue nachos everything was great! After living overseas for three years, my husband and I were very excited to be relocating to TN because we knew good southern food was in our future. Pig-n-Whistle did not fail to provide such yumminess. I had the catfish and fried shrimp which was so good, next time I will be getting just the catfish on it's own. My husband said his ribs, which he got muddy, were awesome enough that he wished he got a full rack rather than a half. Their fried pickles were spot on!! The only reason I don't give them a full 5 stars is because of their minimal kids menu. I have two picky eaters but can usually get by with some mac n' cheese or a grilled cheese. Unfortunately, they only had catfish, chicken fingers, a hot dog or grilled chicken as the kids meal choices. Both nights the group I was with started off with hush puppies. They come plain, I've seen other places that serve it with vinegar or other dips, but these don't need anything.
