The pricing here is great and that's about it. My clothes came back looking nice dry clean or laundered, but there was always a strong smell (especially when dry cleaned). Had items come back with oil stains. My clothes started to get damaged/frayed and were getting burned by the iron with visible burn marks on them. They destroyed two of my favorite blankets by washing them in water after I specifically spent $48 to have them DRY CLEANED at a Dry Cleaner. ‍ They refused to pay for the damage or to refund my money. If you do go to them be sure to specify you want your items dry cleaned as they'll place them in a washer at their discretion and take zero culpability for damages. I thought it was possibly because I have neglected previous orders and left them there too long, but I just picked this last batch up on time and I had to Febreze the shit out of them. I wish I had read many of these unfavorable reviews before I took two BRAND NEW, white $100 Hugo Boss shirts to this dump simply out of pure convenience...well convenience is NOT what I received. Instead, just two new shirts stained and ruined. That old adage 'You get what you pay for' stands true and is very apparent at this sweatshop. The prices are cheap as hell, but there is good reason for that. Your clothes will undoubtedly get DESTROYED and they will blame you! You may get lucky and get out unscathed the first or even second time but rest assured...they WILL get you. To add injury to insult the old lady behind the counter will call you a liar and argue with you until you finally realize that she nor this fledgling 'business' is not worthy of another second of your time. I've been to more cleaners than I could ever count in this country and this by far has to be the ABSOLUTE WORST place/ staff/experience I have ever been to/had. They take absolutely NO pride in their work, return dirty/damaged/destroyed garments to you and prefer to argue with the customer as opposed to getting it right the first - or in my case, the SECOND time. Stay far, far away from these cheating embeciles. The trim on my favorite knit dress - you know - the type that makes you feel like a million bucks when wearing - came apart at the seam and through very careful handling I kept it from unraveling so that it only needed a very simple repair. On the recommendation of a friend I took it to Mini-Cleen, explained how delicate the area was to Melody, sought and received assurances that the tailor was quite skilled and capable, and left it in their trusted hands. Arrived a few days later when promised, intent on wearing it to a critical meeting later that same day. Melody handed me the dress as if ready, with the full cost tag attached to the plastic wrap. I lifted the covering to check the work only to find the repair not even attempted, let alone done. I expressed my disappointment at their attempts to still charge me and that no one had bothered to call me to let me know it was not completed, but that I was at least relieved it was still intact and remained only a minor repair I could take elsewhere (!). Melody began rolling her eyes and arguing with me and then... ...summarily yanked on a thread hopelessly unraveling the trim. I gasped in dismay to which the other worker (who had just joined us behind the counter) immediately shouted "she didn't do that." "She didn't do that..." ...that which I just watched her do!!! It would have been funny save the fact that an under $10 repair will now cost me over $100 for a "reweave." Like I said - stay far, far away. read more

We have used this place quite a lot, but their customer service is so terrible when they mess things up that we will never return. Recently, we had Mini-Cleen dryclean a suit and two brand new pairs of dress pants. When we picked up the clothes, the pants had a shiny discoloration along all of the seams; we've had many similar pairs of pants drycleaned without this issue. Also, the zipper was missing from the suit pants (they definitely had a zipper the last time I wore them). We didn't notice until we got the clothes home, and we took them back the next day. The woman at the counter initially argued that they didn't break the zipper, but when another customer walked in she relinquished and marked the ticket for repair as "paid." Regarding the new pants, she initially said that wasn't their fault, but then she commented that the guys push too hard with the press and that, if we left the pants with them again, they would fix them. We didn't want them to ruin the pants further, so we declined. When we went to pick up the suit pants, the woman tried to charge us for fixing the zipper, which she'd previously agreed to do for free. She also brought up the other two pants and insisted that we must have taken them somewhere else first, and that they didn't cause the shiny press marks. She said her brother insisted it wasn't their fault, and she explicitly accused us of lying and taking the pants somewhere else before bringing them to her (what purpose would that have served?). Finally, she said she would credit $2 back for each pair of the pants, but charged us the balance for the zipper repair. It wasn't worth the additional fight, so we took the repaired pants and left. Mistakes happen. But it's unprofessional and dishonest to accuse customers of lying in order to cover up their mistakes. In the end, the awful customer service in this incident is what seals our decision never to return. read more

Hands down, one of the worst experiences I have had with any business. Easily the worst experience I have ever had with a dry cleaners. I already knew that the quality of their cleaning was iffy, but the dirt cheap prices always compelled my mother to keep going back there. Some people just can't walk away from cheap prices, even when you're paying people to ruin your clothing. Anyway, I dropped off two things there. I had a couple of stains on my sweater and on a pair of light pants. Both were returned with the same stains, only the clothing reeked of some terrible smell. It's like they used an awful stain remover and didn't bother to dry clean the clothing afterwards. My mom resubmitted the pants, but they returned them in the same condition -- basically uncleaned and smelly. I didn't even bother submitting the sweater again. I washed it at home and strangely enough you can pick up the smell. The only thing they removed was it's softness -- one of my nicest items now feels harsh as a rag. Basically, I already knew all this. My mother just can't walk away from low prices -- she's cheap. Unfortunately, the old adage about getting what you pay for holds here. I just never figured I'd be paying to have my items ruined. Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

This place has what you want in a dry cleaners: fast, courteous and inexpensive service. The clothes come back perfect. This place is great with a convenient parking lot. I dropped off a load of clothes and picked up some of them the next day (I asked for that), the rest I said I'd pick up the next week. Been a devoted customer for many years but after today I will no longer use them! When I dropped off my comforter the woman told me it would be 25 dollars and when I went to pick it up she charged me 35. When I told her that wasn't what she quoted me before she ignored me and continued to run my card for the higher price. When I told her it wasn't fair to quite a customer one price and charge another she shrugged her shoulders told me I can come back and take it up with her brother and moved on to the next customer. I brought a brand new jacket from Anthropologie for a conference. I wore the jacket once before I was due to go out of town for the conference and it got pretty sweaty as it was a very hot day. I brought it to mini-cleen to be cleaned and had to return it twice because it still smelt under the arms despite me telling them. The second time was the day I was leaving to go out of town so I had to rethink what I was going to wear at the last minute. My instinct told me not to go back again as they may ruin my jacket since they clearly don't care. Now that i've read some of the other reviews I know i've made the right choice, and will have to look for somewhere else. I paid $5 which is very cheap so its left me feeling very much like I can't really complain. I'd sooner pay $20 and have the darn thing cleaned!!! read more

Terrible! Don't use this place. I had a brand new Hugo Boss shirt that I wore once, and they returned it to me with brown rust spots all over the shirt, that appear to have come from their machines. They then tried to get the rust spots out and couldn't. They then refused to reimburse me for the shirt, even though I showed them the receipt that showed the date of purchase and evidenced that I had only worn the shirt once. After threatening the file a small claims action, they gave me $100, but refused to give me the other $29.50, representing the full value of the shirt. They lied to me and said they have an insurance company that refused to pay any more money, but the check they gave me was signed by the owner, not an insurance company. The dress required a very creative fix in the the back to take in the lined bodice without messing with the zipper or waistband. Perfect fit, carefully executed and even ironed. I work in Fashion and I am a total label and clothes whore. Balenciaga, Lanvin, Gucci, Dior etc etc... My clothes are my babies, I love them!!! When i came to LA for a month, I came with 3 huge suitcases, with all my favs. I stayed with a friend of a friend of mine, who supposingly had a gorgeous house and I was told I would love it. Well...the location was great, Beachwood, but the house was so filthy I nearly died. I admit that I am a bit of a clean freak, but this was totally insane. I cleaned the room and bathroom for about 9 hours over the first 3 days and it still was dirty, but liveable. Anyway. Towards the end of my stay, I got these strange bites on my legs and YES... dreaded... gross....disgusting... I got bed bugs. I totally flipped out. Moved out at once and needed to get about one hundred pieces dry cleaned. In NYC this would have cost me about $1000 easily. I was furious, I spent a fortune renting a bug infested room, had to find somewhere else to stay now and needed to get all my things dry cleaned. And frankly couldn't afford a $1000 dry clean bill. I somehow came across this place and hesitantly gave them my Babies to clean. I have to say, I have amazed. If there was anything good that came out of this horrific experience, its this place. I spent $235 for about 1oo pieces. The girl gave me a really good deal because it was SOOOOO MUCH and she felt bad for me as well. And it came back perfect. Every single item was perfect. And some of these dresses were really really expensive and sensitive items. I love the place and when I am in LA, I love to get things dry cleaned there. I know it looks scary and its not the most modern of places. But I have to say so far, I AM IN LOVE...and I am not the easiest to please, not to say I can be a bit of a bitch. read more

I'd been taking clothes here to be dry cleaned for awhile and had a kind of bad experience (i asked them to fix a hem on a shirt instead of cleaning, and when i got it back they had pressed the shirt but didn't fix the hem at all). It wasn't a big deal so I wrote it off, and then they lost my favorite pants! I had dropped them off, it'd only been a couple weeks, I went back to pick them up and they were GONE! They had no record of the pants (because they don't use a computer, it's all handwritten) but assured me they would look through all the clothes and find them and call me within 2 days. Okay, drycleaning in LA is expensive! For the first month I was here, I was taking our stuff to the place around the corner from our house. Our bill was $70-$90 each time! That's kinda steep for me! I came on Yelp to find a place that wasn't too far but was more reasonable and found Mini-Cleen. I now drive 10 minutes down Santa Monica to get there but it's worth it. The last time I went it was only $24! Shirts (dryclean or laundry) are $1.25! Granted, the place is small and they still use handwritten slips but I'm all for it if it keeps costs down. Drycleaning came out the same as everywhere else I've ever gone and in the same turnaround time. Definitley recommend this place! read more

I previously was a patron of Peter's Magnolia and Doheny Cleaners for many years. I've never had to leave my clothes at Mini-Cleen to have them re-sew or clean anything.
