I went and got a Thai coffee in the Hawaii jar on my way to work and was holding my puppy. The worker was so polite and offered a pup cup. The coffee is delicious and lasts me all night for my night shifts and the little touches like the pup cup makes me want to come back. read more

MY ORDER: -iced matcha latte, oat milk, and honey boba (4/5) i needed matcha BAD this morning and decided to try this little cafe. im pleasantly surprised by the quality of the drink. the matcha taste is very faint but the quality of the boba made up for it. it has a nice texture and honey taste. i received a lot of it too, which is nice because i tend to have to ration my boba in my drinks but i didn't have to worry about that with every sip. it's also always a bonus when i don't have to pay extra for oat milk lol. read more

Went here to try the signature thai tea, taro milk tea, and lava flow blended drink. There was no line so no wait and drinks were prepared in a timely manner! There were so many cute things to look at like hair clips, boba squeakies, pins, stickers, and we were able to watch them making our drinks! Definitely a great experience read more

I've come here for one drink and one drink only. The matcha coconut cloud. I could be wrong, and hopefully I am, but the seem to have gotten rid of the matcha coconut cloud, or at least it wasn't on the menu.... I would have asked if it was actually gone (just not directly on the menu) but the employee was too busy talking to their friend to notice me and others behind them. read more

Sunset Strawberry Lemonade When I saw this place on Insta, I knew I had to make time to check it out. Easy parking, no line & open seating in the food court were already setting the scene for a good morning. When we arrived, Rena is the kind soul that took our order. Super stuffed from late lunch so wanted something healthy for "dinner" and tried Mini Monster. Just one person working but she was fast, friendly, and efficient! I ordered the Diamond Head and deleted banana because I just don't like them. The açaí is great and not too sweet and the granola is same. Place is located in the Royal Hawaiian food court so it's, overall, a busy and noisy place but it's fine and expected. Would definitely come back next visit to HNL/Waikiki for a dinner/dessert all-in-one. read more

Ambiance: Being in a food court, there's not much to it however the signage is aesthetically pleasing. Food: The drink was their signature Thai iced tea which was overly sweet with little to no tea flavor. You could either get it with half & half or oat milk, unfortunately it was with half & half making it too rich. The portion size of tea to milk was quite vast with the drink being 70% milk and 20% tea. Service: This was a pretty bad experience. The worker behind seemed already displeased at 9:30 am, which I didn't have a problem with. (We all have bad days) However when ordering I said oat milk, then said they don't have any boba because they are still making it. (which was fine) I carried on trying to be as pleasant as possible, however upon receiving the order I noticed he made it with half & half, after expressing that I ordered it with oat milk he said 'you didn't say that', making me question myself. Overall just a negative experience which I think is mostly popular for being aesthetically pleasing rather than actually tasting good. Maybe the other drinks are better but I'd stay away from the Thai tea if you get 50% sugar or less from other places. read more

Mini Monster is in the food court on the 2nd floor of the Royal Hawaiian Center and was one of our favorite boba shops. They have a curated menu of about 8 drinks but what made us return was how delicious the matcha latte was. The sunset strawberry was a good non-caffeinated (I think) hit with my daughter, which was a ombre concoction with pea flower for pretty hues. read more

I tried the Aloha Latte--it was good, sweet but not painfully so. Their many says they do press coffee or something, so it seems like not espresso, but it still tasted good. It took a bit, so I assume they're making it fresh. The menu has a few coffee drinks and various tea drinks, so it's a mix of coffee place and boba place. Tried the honey milk tea w/ boba, half sweet. You can taste the black tea flavor, sweetness level was on point, and the boba was soft and chewy. Being from the Bay Area, I don't expect much from boba in Oahu but I would come back for this. Take the middle escalator to the 2nd floor food court in the Royal Hawaiian center. read more

So glad another Yelper puts the location is on the 2nd level. I was going in circles and couldn't find it. You won't miss once you are in the food court. Easy to spot, but items on the menu is not the usual boba milk tea. Ordered the black tea with boba around noon, didn't know it came without creamer or milk. The server made it right and provided explanations that didn't make me feel stupid and yet gave me a little sample of honey milk tea for comparison. I ended up liking the black tea with boba I had ordered over the honey milk tea. Kudos to the server and because of her we will definitely go back again. Hopefully the owner will recognize who she is by looking at the date and time. Service is quick. The place is neat and clean. read more

This place is located in the food court of the Royal Hawaiian center. We arrived around 2pm and the place wasn't busy. We ordered Thai tea, honey milk tea, jasmine milk tea, and haupia coffee (all large, add honey boba). All drinks were delicious. The tea drinks had deep tea flavor, while the coffee had a dark roasted flavor. I wasn't sure if we were allowed to choose sugar levels or ice levels so I just ordered the drink as is. Ahhhhh! Who can say no to boba?!?! Especially from a popular SoCal brand! Nestled in the right hand corner of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center food court, location couldn't be better - in the heart of Waikiki! I'm a creature of habit and typically order either a traditional milk tea with boba, or Thai milk tea with boba, when I'm feeling extra saucy. Pro tip - be sure to let the cashier know if you want toppings. Adding boba is not assumed. But why go to a boba place if you're not going to order boba,'or equivalent 'topping'? (Random thought - why is it called a topping, if it ultimately sinks to the bottom of your drink?) We stopped on our way back from Diamond head and got an Aloha latte with white cloud (pour over Kona, cream, pink Himalayan salt, honey with freshly made cotton candy), and refreshing Lilicoi colada (passion fruit puree on the cup, pineapple and coconut juice) to which we added boba. Mini Monster Cafe from California has opened on the 2nd floor of Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center's food court near Mahaloha Burger. I decided to get the exclusive "Hawaii" 32oz jar for $11.95 and chose their Signature Thai Tea. I asked for 50% sweetness level but not sure if that's what I received because it tasted like regular sweetness which was too sweet for me. My receipt didn't show a sweetness level so I'm not sure if they offer it, or plain forgot, or didn't hear me. Tips if you decide to get the jar: - Future orders you'll only pay the 24oz price when you bring your jar back for refills. Depending how you math, you'll make your money back after 2-3 visits. - Decide if you want a closed lid to prevent spills (especially in transit) or the automatic default in my case was the Mini Monster (looks-like-a-bear) Lid. Plenty seating available since it's in a food court. It was awkward trying to carry that monster sized jar walking around the area. She's a bulky one. Since I got the jar I will return to try the Vietnamese Coffee, Matcha Latte & Lilikoi Tea to make my investment back. read more

At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.

I was thrilled to discover a new boba shop from California had set up shop in the heart of Waikiki. With great anticipation, I swung by on their grand opening day, only to find myself underwhelmed by the experience. I got the large Lavender Honey Matcha with honey boba, which was a whopping $9 (tax included). I could not taste the matcha at all as it was overshadowed by the lavender with a subtle hint of honey. The drink had more of a perfumy essence, rather than a robust flavor, leaving me with a rather lackluster and watery taste profile. As for the boba pearls, they were noticeably smaller than what I'm accustomed to for regular boba pearls, yet they were not quite the size of mini boba pearls, which made for an odd mouthfeel. Unless this was merely an off day for them, I'm unlikely to revisit in the future. read more

I ordered a taro milk tea with half & half milk and the 16oz size was filled with the right ratio of milk tea and ice! Kept it cool and refreshing without overpowering the drink which was filled just below the brim. I also really love the café's sense of Hawaiian tropical style with its cute palm tree printed cup sleeves. There was a sign that said you could leave an honest Yelp review and get two free pins. I have two kids and they were quite excited about the prospects of choosing their pins. We went back and were told the review had to be up for 24 hours before you could claim the pins. We live on the Windward side so rarely come to Waikiki. Not a great experience! Also, the açaí bowl was mediocre at best. Lanikai Juice is much better. read more
