Stay far away. brought my 2015 MINI Cooper Countryman here--a rare, low-mileage, garage-find vehicle in pristine, museum-quality condition--expecting professional service. Instead, I received damaged property and a blatant attempt at financial extortion. First, when picking up my vehicle, I discovered the dealership staff had covered the exterior paint in deep scratches. Under the legal standard of bailment, a service center has a strict duty of care to return a vehicle in the exact condition it was received. This establishment completely breached that duty. Second, they pulled a highly deceptive tactic with their loaner vehicle. Staff verbally assured me the vehicle had "no damage" and rushed me through the paperwork. I drove exactly three minutes down the road to an empty parking lot, inspected it, and found a scratch. When I immediately notified them, the service manager's response was, "We're gonna have to see how much that costs," clearly attempting to stick me with pre-existing damage. This is a textbook unfair and deceptive business practice. I am already documenting a formal complaint under Massachusetts G.L. Chapter 93A, escalations to MINI Corporate USA, and a report to the Massachusetts Attorney General's Consumer Advocacy and Response Division. Do not trust this service department. Horrible experience filled with lies! I've waited 3 months to pass our warranty time in case of retaliation. We had the worst experience at every turn with Mini of Peabody. We test drove a used Buick SUV that was being sold by Mini of Peabody with Louis. This SUV was for my son who had just had his first accident and totaled his car. Immediately Louis has my son get onto the highway. Not an ideal way to test drive an SUV with a teenager driving who rarely drove on the highway. As we are driving Louis says absolutely nothing about the SUV. I start asking questions. He says that he doesn't know anything about it as it's a Buick and he doesn't work at a Buick dealer. Its not rocket science. We had an appointment to test drive this SUV so he had time to learn about it. He tells us it's been there for 96 days and not a single person had test driven it. Despite the salesman being completely unhelpful, my son loved the SUV! Back at the dealership I tell them we are interested and we can pay in cash on Monday morning. This is Saturday, 2 days before Monday, and they are closed on Sunday. Alex the manager tells me that won't work and that we have to buy it today or we could lose it as it's a "hot item". I let him know that I'm aware it's been there for 96 days and that Louis told me absolutely no one had test driven it. Hmmmm, someone is lying here! He then tells me I'll have to finance it today and that they won't hold it. I told him that wasn't happening. He then says he'll hold it until Monday for us but that this is a favor that they typically never do. Seriously, you have a cash buyer for a SUV that got little attention (insert eye roll here) But aren't willing to take payment on the next day you are open? So Monday comes and low and behold the check engine light comes on before we get the SUV. It is brought to a Buick Dealer. The Buick Dealer tells them what the SUV needs. Brig Currie, the used car service manager, tells them to reset the computer codes and not to fix the piece. They inform Mini of Peabody that this will not fix the problem. Brig says that they just want the computer codes reset. The SUV is returned to Mini of Peabody. The day we are going to pick it up (keep in mind we paid for the car a few days ago at this point), the check engine light comes on again for the same reason. The SUV is returned to the Buick Dealer for repair. 4 days later it is still not fixed. I request the info on the Buick Dealer and at first I am given the run around but finally get the info. Mario, the manager of the Buick service center tells me what had happened and what actually needed to be fixed. He told me how Brig refused to have them fix it. He told me how they did not get approval for this to be fixed for the last three days that they have had the SUV at their service center. The ironic part here is the thing that needed to be fixed was under warranty and didn't cost Peabody anything! I called Brig out on what happened. He talked in circles as manipulators do. He's a used car salesman at heart, the stereotypical con artist that we all hope to avoid. He fills that stereotype so well!!! All the sudden the approval for the SUV to be fixed is fast tracked and the SUV is fixed. He wants it back at his shop to be detailed before we pick it up. I didn't trust this man at all so I arranged to skip the detailing and to pick up the SUV directly from the Buick service center. There were other negative reviews that involved things being broken after being at the Mini of Peabody service center that I hadn't seen before I started the process of working with them. Read the bad reviews. Our stories are all similar. Lies, pressure, and negative experiences. The only good guy there was Freddy. I hope he finds a job somewhere else that will value him and that he can be proud to work at! read more

This shop has done work on my car for two years since purchasing it. For the second time within a year I've been told I need a pricey repair that was just done. After escalation to the shop manager I was offered 25% off of a 2k repair. -no one I know has ever had to replace brake pads and rotors within 10k miles, and no shop I have called has either---I reviewed them on google maps saying what happened and they said I'd receive a call to further discuss, but that was close to a week ago. The work has since been done at another shop who confirmed that the rotors were not changed out by Mini of Peabody. This shop commits fraud. Avoid them. read more

I have a 10 year old Mini with 18K pampered miles, major engine issue that was known by Mini USA and a bulletin issued for this problem. Absolutely no help from the dealer or Mini of USA. 250 dollars an hour labor rate, (lawyers get that) total repair bill of 6000 dollars for a car with this low mileage. (I understand it is out of warranty for the age). On top of that , the service dept was trying to sell me any other service they could. I will never purchase another vehicle from them or BMW, nor would a recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

I strongly suggest that anyone looking to do business with Mini of Peabody, Peabody Motor Sports, BMW of Peabody, or Lyon-Waugh Auto Group affiliates look elsewhere for more honest, trustworthy, and ethical alternatives. While doing an online search I found an Audi I liked for sale by Mini of Peabody. I contacted them and was told by salesman Gabriel Payano there were no mechanical issues with it and that is was a great, "clean car." After a little more research into Mini of Peabody (Peabody Motor Sports) reviews and seeing they were affiliated with Lyon-Waugh Auto Group I was truly assured this would be a great purchasing experience, only to have it delivered the following week with a malfunctioning tailgate. After telling Gabriel of the faulty tailgate and that our local Audi dealership said it would be upwards of $1500+ to fix, his response was it was "working well with no issues while it was here." Gabriel then had Mini of Peabody Pre-Owned Manager Brig Currie call to address the issue. Brig also told me it worked fine with no issues while at his dealership and then offered $200 toward repairs. I explained that was unacceptable and it made me wonder if they knew of the problem all along. Brig suggested that I should've had a third party inspect the car before the purchase. He also said they would not pay for repairs at Audi or anywhere else, and it didn't matter that they were affiliated with Audi Nashua because our local Audi dealership would charge the heck out of them regardless. He asked what sound the tailgate was making, I explained and offered to send him a video which he accepted. Within six minutes of sending Brig and Mini of Peabody the video showing the malfunctioning tailgate he produced an internal work order showing how Mini of Peabody supposedly corrected the issue THE DAY BEFORE I CONTACTED THEM! They knew of this issue all along! Brig said they replaced the faulty switch and that it must just be an adjustment. I explained that if they could fix it that's all I wanted. He tried walking me through the adjustment; however it did not correct the issue. I asked him if he had any other suggestions and he asked if I wanted them to buy the car back. I explained that I simply wanted the tailgate fixed correctly. I also explained again how the extra charges to fix the tailgate should be Mini of Peabody's responsibility, and if Mini of Peabody wanted to buy the car back instead of fixing it correctly they should pay the transport costs, TT&L, and detail charges I had already incurred. Brig called back stating per Mini of Peabody and BMW of Peabody General Manager John Pirotte they would not fix the tailgate, would not pay anyone to fix the tailgate, or buy back the Audi. He again suggested I accept their $200 offer to fix a potential $1500+ issue. Beware when it comes to Mini of Peabody, Peabody Motor Sports, BMW of Peabody, or any of Lyon-Waugh Auto Group affiliates. They were clearly dishonest and unethical at all levels of my purchasing experience. Why is the labor cost so expensive and if I knew the price I would have gone elsewhere. Why would they have the need to use the emergency break after dropping off the car when in fact the driveway is on a flat surface. I am highly considering trading the card for a truck. He took me for a great test drive, including highway driving, which the other Mini dealership did not, and we talked numbers upon return. Bought a brand new 2008 MINI. It kept having problems after the warranty ran out. After many thousands of dollars repairing this car, an employee told me "sometimes you just get the car with all of the problems". What a jerk! Anyways, I found a local mechanic who can repair MINIs. I recommend that to all of you. Unfortunately, my MINI has recently developed the dreaded and real MINI rattle of death. I will have to bring it to a junkyard...despite having less than 100k miles in it. Expensive cars and fun to drive. I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. We exchanged emails for a new Mini Countryman coming off the ship. The sales person told me the car will be around 43k dollars. I said ok, I told him twice (not once but twice!) that we will use Select Financing. Car arrives and we go the dealership to finalize the purchase, car's price is 47k instead of 43k and they claim we never discussed Select Financing. After we showed the emails, they are like yes we can do Select Financing but rate is 8%. Then we showed the website showing 3.99% for Select Financing, this time they are like ok we will honor that but payment will be $450 monthly instead of $300/month as shown on the website due to tax. Can you imagine a car where tax increases the monthly payment by 50%? Either they think, we are clueless about numbers or looking for people to scam. This was the worst dealership experience in my life. I did not see such a treatment in second hand dealerships where sometimes the price is not fixed. I would not trust these guys. Stay away there are many other reputable dealerships in the region. It is a shame. read more

PLEASE READ: Went in for a roof rack installment, left with them telling me I needed $4,700 in repairs that "needed my immediate attention". I am a 19 year old girl who has paid for every dollar for my mini Cooper Clubman S, and every time I go in there I get treated like I am a little child who knows nothing about my car. When you enter this dealership, you are likely to see atleast five people standing around at the front desk talking to each other, accomplishing absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, I waited five hours for a roof rack installment (1-2 hour job) and they come back with a huge list of things that were urgent repairs. Getting my usual mechanic to look at it, he said a lot of these repairs were not needed, and the ones that were would cost less than half the price that Mini was going to charge me. While waiting for my car, I got the chance to listen how absolutely HORRIBLE and rude some of the people are that work here, whether it was talking to other staff members, or blurting out swears after hanging up the phone with a client. What I took away from this one day: they do not care about their clients- they just want the most amount of money for the least amount of work. After I made an appointment a week prior, to come down from Portland, Maine (101 miles each way) to test drive a car, when I got there I was told I could not take the car out of the parking lot. That "supposedly " that same morning they had received a letter from the governor of Massachusetts saying nobody could test drive cars. Well, went I went back to have the situation rectified I was treated with the most respect by the Service Manager, Joe Leighton. Took the time to explain things to me, brought me for a test drive and put up with my nagging emails for the entire three months I had to wait. Finance / Business depart was a joke. I was treated horrible and the woman who is supposedly a manager had no business tact and was downright rude. Two woman in my Yoga class also purchased Minis from the same dealership and had the same experience with this business manager. "She was indignant, rude and completely unprofessional" If you get stuck with this same person as your representative ask for someone else. It's not worth the disrespect. Came in here on a Saturday afternoon after an awkward and unsuccessful experience at Herb Chambers in Boston. An entourage of Asian women, my mother, her friends and I barged into the dealership at 4pm, not knowing that they were already closing the store. I was determined to purchase a car that day and after expressing how we traveled all the way from Somerville, the office manager agreed to extend business hours for us. He assigned Gary, a very friendly and to-the-point, salesperson to take care of us. An hour later, I'd signed papers to take home a brand new Mini Countryman. The whole process was terribly painless. They even threw in some British flag mirror caps to make my life complete. I had turned to Mini of Peabody to have a bike (fork) rack fitted to my 2006 Mini Cooper S. Should be an easy task, right? The initial installation took 4 hours instead of the announced 2. When we got home, we noticed that the trunk no longer opens all the way because the bike rack touches the spoiler on the back. I scheduled an appointment to get this fixed. What they did was to turn the bike rack back-to-front, which seemed very unsafe. They claimed that this was the practice recommended by MIni but couldn't provide any documentation (installation guide, pictures) to that effect. I researched extensively but could not find anywhere on the Internet that recommends putting the bike rack backward. When I asked them to put it "front-to-back" again, the mechanic had already gone home, so I would have had to go back tomorrow. I now decided to do it myself at home so I don't waste another 3 hours like today. Also, I felt treated more like a nuisance than a customer when I was there. Not a lot of trying to work out how to find a solution to my problem. For my next service, I'll go to Mini in Warwick, RI, where I originally bought the car. It's rare when you have a dealer that consistently does everything right. I went to a lot of dealers in the past and it's amazing how bad many of them are. Instead of the typical car-buying problems people often encounter, the guys at MINI of Peabody made buying a new car so fun and easy that I found myself stopping by there whenever I was in the neighborhood just to say hi. Evans, Kevin, Mark, Brig, all of them I feel are friends now, not just cardboard salespeople pushing me to buy something I don't want to meet some quota as one might find at other dealerships. There were parts I wanted to add to the car myself after the purchase, and the parts team gave me great pricing and seemed very interested in all the modifications I was making to the car. They treated me well at every step of the process, figured out my interests and helped me get exactly the customized MINI I wanted. They responded courteously to all of my detailed requests before and after the purchase. The car itself defies description. Who knew that a MINI could turn this many heads? I get people asking all the time, "What is that?" and I've seen people do double-takes as they walk by the car. Everyone at MINI of Peabody knows their cars well, and really helps you make it customized to your personal taste and style. This was hands down the best car buying experience I've ever had. Everyone knows me at the dealership by name there now and it's because of the rapport they built with me rather than because of any problem. MINI of Peabody even hosts car rallies for their customers and dozens of people show up to each one. They've certainly earned a customer for life with me. It seems like a lot of the bad reviews of this dealership are from many years ago. I would imagine a lot changes can happen at a dealership in a year. I had an amazing experience here - though this review is only based on my test drive experience this past week. The atmosphere of the dealership is relaxed and welcoming. Elvin helped me in test driving a MINI, he showed me the ropes of the car before I popped into the car and started the test drive. Through the whole ride, he was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions, he also encouraged us to push the car and have fun with it. We came back to the dealership and there wasn't the usual 'Buy this car now' pushy talk. Great experience with this dealership short of one aspect. I tried to reach out to this dealership through the internet and their internet person really didn't do a very good job of giving me information and basically told me their cars all sell at MSRP. If it wasn't for a horrible experience at the only other Mini dealer in the state I wouldn't have come here. However when I walked in the dealership I asked to speak with someone in sales and was greeted by Mike Ciano. Mike was very straight forward and helpful. I knew exactly what I want and I knew it would have to be ordered. Mike answered every question I had and we were able to put together what I wanted off of the Mini Website. We had a vehicle built and a price agreed upon within 25 minutes of me walking in the dealership. At this point the sales manager Kevin Barkhouse came out and congratulated me on the decision and made sure that one of the accessories (center stripe) would be done correctly. I confirmed exactly what I wanted and he assured that it would be done that way. I met with Mark Taliento in finance to get my loan. We discovered that we had some mutual friends in the business. Mark was very helpful in explaining all my loan, maintenance and warranty options. The order process for my new Countryman took about a month and a half. Through this process both Mike and Mark stayed in contact with regular updates. Finally the day came where my car showed up. They made it possible to finalize the paperwork, make final payment and pick the car up all at once to avoid extra trips. The day of delivery came and I walked in and drove out with the car in less than 30 minutes. I saved a few bucks, they made a few bucks, but more importantly... other then their internet process.... I got a super high level of service which is what I would expect. We are considering buying a second mini to replace our other vehicle, if we do, no questions about it this is where we will be going. Even though another MINI dealer is much closer, I drive the 35 minutes to MINI of Peabody. I bought my MINI there and bring her there for maintenance and service. It goes beyond a customer/business relationship at MOP - going there is like visiting friends. They treat their customers with the highest regard. While I had a hiccup in the sales process that was beyond the control of the local dealer (that MINI configurator can be tricksy), they made the situation right on all accounts. Also, MINIs aren't the most reliable of vehicles (people, get the extended warranty) and MOP has serviced my MINI with the utmost aplomb. They have a great waiting area (very early appointment = still warm muffins), always explain the problem & provide clear options, have numerous loaners available, and are just generally a pleasure to work with. Mark, Joel, and Dave are passionate about their work and are just good people, which leads to the highest levels of customer service and relationship building. True story: I went to a local tire shop to swap to my Winter tires and the wheel lock key sheared off in the lock. Nothing they could (or were willing to) do but put the Summer tires back on. I called MOP at 6:30pm and explained the situation. They said to come right up, which I did, quickly. As usual, I was presented with different options and outcomes from their previous experiences with this problem. Long story short: Joel quickly fixed what could have been a messy situation, after hours. MOP also does a great job supporting the community. They frequently sponsor local MINI clubs & events and participate in & organize many charity events. TL;DR: Buy and service your MINI at MOP, you'll be glad that you did. Another review from someone who got tired of Mini of Boston (check my reviews there, I have some good, some bad... overall meh) Anyway, we just got our car serviced with a new power steering pump (warranty/recall or some such) and they were able to get us in MUCH sooner than mini of Boston. I am talking TWO WEEKS sooner. WOW! Hearing those numbers I was totally expecting to see an empty garage, but no, they were plenty busy. Not sure if Boston has ridiculous amounts of traffic, but these guys got us back on the road in DAYS rather than WEEKS. They also did some complimentary checks for us and brought a small oil leak to our attention. No additional charge (well, except for the repair). Thanks Mini of Peabody. My father purchased a Mini here way back in 2003 and still has the vehicle to this day. Nowadays he only drives it when the weather is nice. For the last few years I have brought the car up for service for him and the service experience here is top notch! First off, Joel is the only person that touches my father's car. He knows the product in and out and has always gone the extra mile to take care of the vehicle like it was his own. The service advisory staff are great as well. Always 100% honest and never trying to upsell you services or repairs you don't need. The one time I had a problem, the service manager, Dave, stepped right in and took care of it quickly and with a professional demeanor. They fix what's wronge, tell me about any other issues and Graham in service is a peach! I now live about an hour and a half from Danvers but I will drive to get my car serviced. My first Mini goes back to when they were first introduced in the US. I love doing business here. I have seen the dealership grow from a small building on Route 1 to the very state of the art building now on route 114. They have always treated me well. My recent visit was no exception. Last year when I had a problem with my car surging unexpectedly during a frigid weather spell and hitting my neighbors car corporate solution did not satisfy me. When I took it in for routine service recently I reminded Grahm about that experience and he offered a discount on service . This satisfied me and restored my confidence in MINI. I have always said even if I didn't want a MINI I would buy one just to be able to have this dealership service my car. It is the best. read more

I brought my Mini Clubman 2016 in for 3 recalls which was very alarming! They fixed it in good time, but very inconvenient to me to drive there and have a loaner for a few days. On on another note, we also emailed Gary King the General Manager about to see if they could fix minor scratches on my car, with no response. Very disappointed. I feel they knew they my car was almost up mileage and didn't care. read more

No better place to buy your MINI! The staff treat you like gold and the service team's are exceptional. I purchased, Lola, my 2015 Roadster convertible in January, and I cannot be more pleased with her. Last Friday, 4/1 I brought her in because there was an issue with the Bluetooth, Graham and Philip not only took great care in resolving the issue. I had mentioned that there was a big rally this weekend, in NYC. The service team not only checked her out from top to bottom they replaced the wiper blades and gave her a wash so she would look good for the rally. No better service and customer for life. read more
