I've had burritos from this taqueria at least 3 times now, so I feel I can adequately review quality at this point. They aren't as huge as some places, but they definitely aren't small by any means. If anything, they are portioned just right. What I love is the ingredients don't rely too much on "filler" ingredients and are balanced well. If you order a carne asada burrito, you'll get a good portion of not overly cooked meat. Pricing is roughly what you should come to expect as well. The cons (and reason it's not at least a 4 star) are primarily due to their salsa/hot sauces. While I'm happy they included 3 different and decent sized servings, they are all pretty spicy and you get no reprieve trying to switch things up - and this is coming from someone that loves spice. In my opinion it overpowers the food. Just fixing the spice level would take this to a 4 star rating for me. Would I eat here again? I really wanted to like this place- but I can't anymore. I visited several times throughout the years thinking they will get better but that is not to be. their standards have changed - keep getting lower. their plastic cups used to serve tea or whatever beverage are chipped or cracked. I grabbed some tacos in the drive thru, and they were pretty quick. Service was nice. The tacos were authentic and not a tex mex style... full of meat and nice size similar to street tacos. Flavor was good and two sauces came with the order. I liked the Carne taco the best. The chicken was tender also. I'll return to try more items again as it's almost great patio weather. I ordered a birria taco and a couple Barbacoa tacos and every bite needed a dash of salt. I should not have to manually dash salt on to every bite of my food. My sister ordered a SOPE and she was appalled. Took one bite and immediately said no as she put it back down on the plate. This place needs better flavor and more intention with their cooking. Although the service was quick and easy. Their food was bland. I ordered tacos de barbacoa and a Al pastor torta. Once i got home, the torta was soggy the Al pastor meat had no flavor. Tasted almost like it was in the fridge then they took it out on the stove to warm it and toss it in some oil and called it a night. Same for the "barbacoa" i had my fair share of amazing and bad barbacoa this one was just NOT IT. No flavor and was cold. My Fiancè didn't even finish his torta and i only took 2 bites out of the taco and spit it out. The salsa tasted old and smelled funny. I come here regularly for breakfast tacos -- they're consistently delicious and one of the better options around in the morning. However, I've noticed something that's a little frustrating: if I order 6 or more tacos, I still only get ONE salsa. When I asked for an extra, I was told it would cost more. That just feels a bit stingy, especially when you're ordering a decent amount of food. I'm not asking for a whole bottle, just enough salsa to actually enjoy with all my tacos. I hate to do this but do not go here.. the ladies were nice but the service was horrible. The food was not eatable..I ordered menudo that had no pozole(hominy) when I asked the young lady she tells me this menudo does not have pozole. Then when I tasted it the broth was semi red and no taste. Like it was the last of the menudo and they just added water to fill the bowl. It had big chunks of onion. Ok that was put to the side and not eaten by anyone. They all tasted and said the same. No amount of salt could help it. I also ordered a carnita sope. The meat was cold but I thought because of the toppings so I ate about half. It was a little dry and hard on the edges no biggie but the middle was just raw masa. Nope could not do that either. So I ordered a barbacoa taco can't go wrong with that but boy was I wrong. The tortilla was talluda(old and chewy) but worst thing it was not even cooked or heated up. The barbacoa had an old rotten taste. Could not even eat a bite. Had to put it in a napkin, yes I know bad manners but it was that bad. My sister in law and husband all got tacos. They ordered in flour tortillas but got corn so we asked to change it. They were not to happy but they did. Same results. No bueno at all... we DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL..... but on the good side the coffee was good...and side note yes we did pay for the food. For ME, no other taqueria in the area is as authentic, or GOOD. These guys are no nonsense fast. Everything comes out hot and tasty. And yes, I have a yen for things like tripe, tongue and pork skin - if that's not your jam, stay with Mi Cocina (another great restaurant, in it's own way). I stopped in and ordered a burrito and told them no lettuce no sour cream I added rice and beans which to them is an add-on I also added pico de gallo which to them is an add-on it ended up being almost a $10 burrito and I found a bone in it the server was rude the lady at the register was rude the food was bland I cannot eat her again. After five long years I've returned to try out what was once the closest thing to decent Mexican food besides going to taco trucks in Ft. Worth or Dallas and what we found was beyond abysmal. The prices have skyrocketed, and the overall experience was just awful. Bland city is what they should call themselves. The Al pastor had no flavor, the chicken was laughable, and the burritos were just purely made with zero love. I remember when they had good food and even better prices. I'd avoid this place. Drive thru street tacos open late! Friendly service and food made fresh. Those reasons let you know why they have stuck around in Grapevine so long. I ordered a fish taco and two asada tacos. They were street tacos, though they do not come with the standard cilantro and onions, and they DON'T put avocado on the asada tacos when you order to go. Instead they came with lettuce and tomato. Still on corn tortillas. My first thought when I got the bag was that it was HEAVY. Well, they also threw in their three salsas. Pico, green, and red. The tacos were hot and fresh, and bland. I tried a piece of the fish on its own, and I swear there was no seasoning on it. It was cooked really well, but had no flavor. The green sauce had the flavor, but no heat. It reminded me of La Costena. The red sauce had some heat, but just tasted like charred bitter chillies, and the pico was mostly just onion flavored tomato water. The price is good, the drive thru is awesome and they are open late. Just ask for salt. read more

The staff will bring you three types of salsa- a green, a chile de arbol (be ready for some kick), and a more traditional chunky salsa. Although the staff can sometimes be curt (one or two ladies there remind me of typical grumpy aunts), they usually are very attentive and always ready to provide a refill of either your drink or your chips and salsa. I recommend the chilaquiles, the tripe tacos, the lengua in green sauce, and the al pastor tacos. The Mexican-style tacos come with fresh cilantro and onions, and taste just like any great Mexican street taco should. Incidentally, the refried beans and rice are as good as any homemade stuff I have ever had. If you want good authentic Mexican food, you have come to the right place. I got gorditas - barbacoa and carne asada. Both were really tasty and packed with meat. Service wasn't gushy sweet, but was sufficient and everything came out correctly.
