I was doing some shopping in Garden City and happened to walk by MiniLuxe. I saw they had a sign out that said walk-ins welcome so figured it was worth a shot to see if they had a slot open for eyebrow waxing. Luckily they did! I waited less than a minute and Crystal came out to grab me for my eyebrow wax. She was quick, efficient, and did a great job! I was literally in and out of there in ten minutes. For something I wasn't even planning on doing it was perfect! The wax was $25 and then with tip I was out of there for $30. My husband made me an appointment for my birthday about a week in advance. Told them not to send me any information regarding the appointment because it was a surprise, well they sent me emails and reminders and the surprise was ruined. The day of my birthday my husband called to make sure they could do cat eyes on my toes, because the service I was getting was a pedicure. My husband was then informed that there was a scheduling conflict that an employee booked over my appointment that was already scheduled. There are calendars, and many scheduling apps to ensure this mistake doesn't happen because I use one for my own business. They were not apologetic and seemed like they couldn't care less about what they did. This place is extremely unprofessional. read more

I made an appointment at Miniluxe as a treat for my upcoming birthday. Normally, I do my nails at home or get a simple manicure at a local salon, but with a few holiday events, my birthday, and a wedding coming up, I thought it would be the perfect time to try Gel X--something I'd been considering for a while. After a busy week, I scheduled the appointment for a Friday evening to kick off the weekend. The salon itself was clean, and the nail tech was very kind. She carefully prepped my nails, selected the right extensions, customized them by buffing and filing, and applied the gel glue to all my nails. This process alone took about 45 minutes. However, as she applied the first Gel X extension to my pinkie, she realized they had run out of Gel X glue. She spent about 10 minutes asking the other techs if they had any more (they didn't). At this point, I'd been there nearly an hour with still no paint on my nails. Since I had a dinner reservation to get to, I told her a regular gel manicure would be fine. She did a very quick gel manicure, leaving the Gel X nail on my pinkie. The finished result looked no different than what I could get at my usual salon for half the price and a fraction of the time. When I asked for a discount, they agreed to charge me for a gel manicure but only took off $18 for the inconvenience. In the end, I spent over an hour there, paid $65 (with tip) for a rushed gel manicure, and walked out with a single Gel X nail. I felt super sad, defeated, and taken advantage of after what was supposed to be a special treat to myself. read more

This is my favorite spot in the PVD area for manicures and pedicures. Be warned: it's pricey. It's also spotlessly clean, has ZERO scent of toxic chemicals in the air, and uses 7-free non-toxic polishes. Note: This is a no cash salon (except for tips). I generally opt for the Performance polishes. They have a decent color selection, dry in five minutes without UV lights, and yield a glossy close-to-but-not-quite gel look; some nail "rough up" is regrettably required as with traditional gel polishes. (True gel options seem to be available here too; not sure if those are also using the non-toxic products I now want.) My manis usually last a full week, which is longer than every other traditional polish service I've had. The technicians are good at reading client cues and will chat or not based on how they interpret your behavior. I like if so much here I've told my daughters to visit one of the three Los Angeles salons! read more

Yikes. Giving one star feels too nice. Five premium pedicures were scheduled far in advance for a bridal event, and Miniluxe canceled less then two days before. The appointments were scheduled, confirmed, and payment was provided. They were all for 1:05 on a Saturday. Late Thursday afternoon the week of the appointments, Miniluxe sent multiple texts confirming 2 appointments at 1:05, 2 at 2:05, and 1 needing to be further rescheduled (huh?). They were rude, dismissive, and unaccommodating when we reached out to ask questions. We had no choice but to scramble to find a new salon. They might be okay for a walk-in, but don't waste your breath otherwise with Miniluxe. Total waste of time, effort, and potentially money, only to be treated like an inconvenience. read more

Nothing luxe about this place! For what I pay for a premium pedi at my usual place, miniluxe fell short. The chairs are like benches- no massage, not adjustable and not very comfy. No jets in the bath either. The whole place is kind of dingy- I'm sure it was nice when it first opened but now the corners have chipping paint and it's overall worn looking. I kept it at 2 stars as my nail tech was friendly and did a good job, but the service itself was lacking. read more

My friends and I recently went for manicures at MiniLuxe Cranston. We all chose light colors (I.e pink, white, etc). Within 48 hours all of our nails turned yellow. After multiple attempts to reconcile the issue with the salon directly, including correspondence with the manager, there has still been no resolution to date. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We chose a quality salon, or what we thought was one, and expected a quality product. We expected Nordstrom treatment but instead are receiving Walmart quality. I would never recommend this salon to a family member or friend. read more

I love this salon and have been here several times for both manicures and pedicures. Whenever I get gel manicures here they typically last around 12-13 days with no chips. Usually my nails end up chipping much faster so I was pleasantly surprised. They do charge a bit more than other nail salons; however, the studio is cleaner and well decorated compared to typical tiny nail studios. I absolutely love MiniLuxe. Not only is it super convenient (hey, you can get your Pinkberry fix right next door), the staff is professional, the entire process is "clean," and the results are great. I actually toured the facility a while back and learn about the lengths they go to sanitize and ensure that every manicure and pedicure is as safe and clean as can be. They don't have jets in the pedicure tubs because tubs with jets are more difficult to sanitize. I usually only get pedicures, and they are great! They have a loyalty program that has changed a bit over the years, but if you are a regular customer there are ways to save on future services. I think the prices are very fair, and they have options to upgrade services or polishes for a bit extra. This is definitely my go-to spot for all my pedi needs. read more

Immaculately clean nail salon. It feels very luxe when you walk in. The staff is very friendly and professional. I got the signature pedi with callus removal which was awesome. I like that the tools come in the sani packets. Also everything is white so you can tellthat the basin is clean. I like that they use disposable tools whenever they can (i.e. Toe separators. Files. Etc). They also give you the file (for manis) afterwards. Thany was my nail tech and she was great. I would definitely book beforehand because they are very busy. I attended a Yelp Elite! event here last week and was very impressed. The place is immaculately clean and I love MiniLuxe's attention to cleanliness, from not having jets in the pedicure tubs to unwrapping sterilized tools in front of you. I am always nervous about waxing but, after seeing the care given to the manicure and pedicure stations, I would not hesitate to get waxed here. The decor is modern sleek and you forget at times that you are in a nail salon. I like that the pedicure stations are not arranged in one long line against the wall. You feel like you are getting pedicures in semi-private nooks. Prices were high but not outrageous given the quality of service. My one complaint is that I had my nails done less than 5 days ago and the paint is already wearing off. Would have loved if they lasted just a little while longer given how they great they looked, but that's probably my fault for washing dishes without gloves! I will definitely go back to MiniLuxe. I think it will be a great place to take my mom for a girl's night out! read more

Best nail salon for the money in the state. We always went in Boston, and when we moved back to Rhody we were so sad we wouldn't have it. Then...they came to Garden City! Now, this is not your typical low cost salon, it is pricier than most. However, you'll see in the photo that my gel manicure looks practically new two weeks later. Well worth it. You are treated with the type of attention to detail as a high end salon, without the high spa pricing. All the girls are great--you are offered tea, hot towels, the lotion is amazing. All worth it. Impressive and very clean. Was looking forward to my mani pedi apt with my mom. My mother received a wonderful pedicure with a great massage followed up with a fantastic gel manicure. I did not have the same experience ... my pedicure (which is not cheap) was very lack luster with probably the worst foot massage ever. Lasted a total of 30 seconds and was more of a brief touch of my toes rather than the typical massage you'd expect. I would expect nothing but top notch everything for a pedicure that cost $39. My gel manicure was nothing to write home about either. When I said I would like a more squared nail shape, the manicurist looked at me with a curled upper lip and said "Really? Square?" like I just made the worst choice possible. So I just kept my mouth shut and did not say anything else the entire appointment. I was just looking forward to getting out of there. Not in any rush to return here .. I can get better service at a much more reasonably priced nail salon. read more

$30 for a mani that chips in 2 days?!?! That's crazy - this is RI, not NYC. And this was a basic manicure - nothing special except they used a polish they proudly boasted wears like a gel with the same longevity. (Not the case - it wore the same as a $1.99 polish from cvs.) I loved that the place was immaculate and trendy... but it's a shame they spent so much on design and so little on product. The quality isn't there. Too bad. I wanted to go back for a pedicure because like I said, the place was immaculate, I instantly trusted the cleanliness. If the polish lasted a least a week I'd consider it, but I feel completely ripped off. (Plus they don't print receipts... what business doesn't provide receipts? I had to ask for one to be emailed to me - which never was). Note: I actually revised my post from 2 stars down to 1 star based on the day 3 status of my nails (see pics). I haven't been working on my computer. I haven't not done any cleaning, laundry or yard work yet this weekend. There has been no activity to cause this level of wear. read more

I was searching the area for a high quality nail salon and was lucky enough to find this gem. This was by far the cleanest and most pleasant experience I've had getting my nails done, since I was 7 years old! I've never paid more than $35 for a gel manicure and it's not like I was really breaking the bank for $10 more. It's absolutely worth it. Melissa did a fantastic job and was generally very meticulous and gentle trimming around my cuticles (which can be a painful experience if the technician doesn't know what they're doing). I had a lovely experience at Mini Luxe today. Sindy did a great job on my prestige manicure! She asked whether I wanted my cuticles trimmed before she did it- I prefer mine to be pushed back. She was thorough and pleasant. The environment was calm- although I'd actually dig some background music. I also got a bikini wax from Erin. Wow! She was wonderful! She explained the procedure and choices I had and was completely professional. The room was clean and very comfortable. This was a much better waxing experience than I have had in the past. I didn't know that if you book your next appointment before you leave the shop, you receive 10% off your next visit. Erin let me know and I was thankful, as I like to be savvy with my spending. I can't speak to the length that the manicure lasts, but I am hopeful! I'm glad I finally visited Mini Luxe. I'll be back, again and again. read more

This place is clean and bright and pleasant. Love that they use less toxic products and seem to better to their employees than the average nail salon. Particularly good that their employees aren't subjected to all the harsh acrylic fumes. My biggest disappointment is the hybrid polish. I've had a regular manicure from them that starts to chip within 24 hours. With the hybrid I seem to get 48 before there are major chips. For an extra $10 it's not really worth it. I am giving a 3 stars rating, rather than a 4 star rating as there are entirely too many upsells and hardselling -- both when you set an appointment and when you check-in for an appointment. You are prompted at least 3 times when booking an appointment online - and woman who greeted me and helped me understand the polish choices also tried twice to upsell. I understand the practice, but take the aggressiveness down a notch, please. That being said, the cleanliness and quality of the work done is excellent. I had a manicure, which was neither super rushed, nor super slow. (Thank you for the warm hand towel - as this is always my favorite part). The technician that did my manicure did an excellent job - and was just the right amount of chatty for my preference. The space is very clean, as advertised - and sports a very European vibe and aesthetic. This location is quite nice, as even on a busy Saturday before Thanksgiving - I was able to find a parking spot without too much trouble. I would definitely consider going back for the cleanliness aspect alone. read more

I've been getting my eyebrows waxed and tinted here for a couple months now. I love the staff, they're all so very nice!

I made an appointment to get my nails done. When I arrived ( right on time), I told the girl at the counter I had an appointment. She acknowledged this, but didn't do anything about it. It required me staring her down for at least 8 minutes before she decided to get up and get someone. The reason I made an appointment was because I needed to go to work after so needless to say, I couldn't hang out and wait for them to start my manipedi late. The process was normal, the girl who did my nails did a good job, but sadly they had taken my usual nail polish out of their collection. I didn't care much for the colors they had, so I had to stick to a rather dull coral color-- which I found to be basic. The polish on my nails chipped within the same day which was extremely disappointing. I do like how clean the place is, otherwise I probably wouldn't go back. It's pricy compared to some places, and I don't want to pay for a service that comes off right away. read more

The first thing that stood out to me was the design. I LOVED the big open ceilings and industrial/mod feel of the salon. This place is immaculate and if you dare to ask you will get the full low-down on how it is kept that way. MiniLuxe uses all safe chemicals to clean, and are meticulous to be absolutely sure that you are receiving the highest quality of care. Upon entering I was greeted with a friendly smile and 100% professionalism. At first I was afraid that the salon may be a little out of my comfort zone (and ladies you know what I'm talking about), but I was comforted as I was trested like and equal. They clearly haven't a clue that thier work is deserving of buisness for the waiting area is far to small for the volume they will receive. The polish selection is average to what I have seen elsewhere. I was a little confused to the pricing of the polish vs the service provided. I just cannot process how this red color is included but that red color is $10 more expensive... It's all red!!! None the less they were all classy brands. I had a very basic pedicure, closer to a polish change. My pedicurist was so sweet, she looked so happy to be providing for me. She clearly enjoyed her profession and that made me happy . I loved that there where couples benches so if you go in with a friend you both can have your feet done (different foot tubs) but one next to the other. The drying station was set up interestingly as well. It reminded me of a music stand, and you were able to easily read a magazine while your tootsies dried. After years of going to the one in Newton, MA, I am so excited that there's now one in Cranston! MiniLuxe has a massive selection of trendy and classic polish colors. The salon does not reek of fumes because it doesn't do artificial nails and their products are free of formaldehyde and other toxins that are often found in nail products (MiniLuxe says that all their polish, including top and base coats, are non-toxic and 3, 4, and even 5 free. "3 Free" are nail polishes without Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, and Formaldehyde. "5 Free" are nail polishes without Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde,Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor). MiniLuxe prices are very reasonable, and I will gladly pay $39 for a socially-responsible spa-like pedicure experience versus a dingy, cheap nail salon where getting your nails done feels more like a chore, not to mention nightmarish working conditions for employees (MiniLuxe prides itself on paying people at or above minimum wage plus tips). When you want your manicure to feel more like an experience rather than just another errand, MiniLuxe is the place to go for your primp and polish. read more
