The people here were SOO sweet and lovely, I really wanted to love this salon! The Gel colors they had in stock were super limited, I had to choose 5-6 different shades of blue before they had one in stock. The lady took her time with the manicure which I really appreciated but I did not love how they turned out, the polish was kind of piled on at tips which made the color look bad- it was pretty sheer on the actual nail which did not look good. It also caused my nails to be super unstable from being "top heavy" so one broke within 24hrs of the manicure. 3 more broke over the next week. I have never had a gel nail break before this! Unfortunately will not be returning. :( read more

I've been coming here for years and have been generally satisfied. The pedicures last, the manicures don't. They honor appointment times very loosely, as others have noted. However, they have recently updated their pedicure menu, and now charge extra for the massage. It is not worth it. The foot massage was phoned-in, brief, and not satisfying. The 'paraffin wax treatment' is NOT submerging your foot into warm soothing paraffin, as one might expect. Rather, it entails having a plastic baggie with tepid liquid tied to your heel. So, if you come in for the lowest-tier pedicure, it's worth it. The add-ons are not. The staff - while pleasant - are also very uneven, some meticulous and thorough, others a bit more lax and leave you with misshapen nails. Good luck! read more

Very average. I got dip powder manicures here for about a year and it was super inconsistent. Sometimes they took 50 minutes, sometimes an hour and half. Sometimes my manicures would be super thin and break after a week, and sometimes they'd still look perfect after 3 weeks. Some of the nail techs were careful and thorough, and some were super rough and ripped up the skin around my nails. This salon is definitely no frills, which means competitive prices. Beware if you get nail designs, though. They charged me $5 PER NAIL for a design. They will fix broken nails for free, though, if you got your manicure from them. read more

I am SO happy with this manicure!!! I had previously gone to a different salon and my gel manicure chipped and broke off in only a week, so I was upset and wanted a pick-me-up. I made a last-minute appointment at Justina and they were able to accommodate me. I walked in and it wasn't crowded at all - very clean. The staff were all friendly and greeted me as I walked in. I showed the manicurist the design I wanted and he was able to do it perfectly. He made sure all my nails were the exact shape I wanted before he continued with the manicure. I am SO obsessed with these - literally cannot stop looking at them. The manicure was $50 (not bad for gel with a design) and just be aware that if you pay with a credit card, you will have a 2% charge on your bill. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! I went to Justina Nails for the first time about three weeks ago and I am going back today for a fresh gel mani and to have the last manicure removed because it is STILL ON MY NAILS FULLY UNCHIPPED. There's literally growth like I have acrylics on. I believe the woman who did my nails was the owner. She did a great job and didn't shame me about little little stubby nails. Very friendly, too! I almost didn't post but i've been so disappointed by a sloppy job that's gotten worse over 2 days :/. TLDR; poor acrylic job, poor paint job, even nails and they broke off the next day. I got my nails done for Valentine's Day on the 13th. I asked for white and pink ombré nails, which I was told they could do.....but instead the design I got was pretty disappointing because they didn't have the correct materials to do an ombré (she insisted it needed to be done with gel but it doesn't, i've had ombré many times. some techs prefer dip powder to create an even color gradient....but that's not what she did. She painted the whole nail pink then sprinkled white powder over it, creating an uneven gritty nail that wouldn't set even when UV cured). My acrylic was not filled to the cuticle, so they immediately looked 4 days old. The nails were of uneven length and not coffin shaped (I didn't notice until later that my middle finger nail was a whole lot shorter than the others, and not shaped similarly). In short, the nails looked like they were done my a tech in training but i was charged quite a lot for it. To be fair, the tech seemed at least bashful about the job that was done but unfortunately i wasn't able to stay any longer to get it redone because i had work, so I had to leave. But the next day, while grabbing laundry my acrylic nail completely snapped off. I didn't hit it or anything, i didn't feel it break-- i was picking up clothes, i put them down, and one of nails was on the bed with my clothes. This tells my that the acrylic/glue job was also weak. This morning, i noticed my pedicure chipping as well, which doesn't even happen this quickly in the summer sandal season, but especially shouldn't happen in winter when my toes are virtually always unexposed and in thick socks. I really wanted to like this place because everyone was nice and they autoclave their instruments. But I paid 2x as much as I usually pay for a full set (supposedly for the ombré design) and it didn't even last a day. I can't afford to give this place another chance. read more

Saw Justina herself a couple of weeks ago. Her customer service is genuine and definitely isn't overlooked. Her preciseness in shape and how many coats to do is awesome. However, she does not have gel polish, only shellac. Which tends to peel off for me after 5 days. For pedicure she doesn't have parafin to offer clients. Which for me is a must if getting spa pedicure during winter. The massage didn't last long during pedicure which is my favorite part. She's a sweetheart and does a great job. I decided to go here because I had an event to attend and needed someplace close to where I live and that would take me. I have to say never ever again! I went in for a basic pedi and when I got there I asked what was the next step up from a basic pedi and was told the spa pedi which included extra massage, hot towels, rock massage. Well let's say I didn't get much extra. She didn't even scrub my heels or feet. She didn't cut or trim my toenails, didn't get any massage, or hot rock massage. I literally got to put my feet into water for a soak, burning hot towels wrapped around my leg, some lotion on my feet and legs, and then polish on my toes. Awful experience and service! read more

I no longer go to this salon. While Kim is very sweet, she does not consistently do a great job with my nails. She is often in a rush since there have only been two nail techs when I've gone in, and she usually paints gel color on my cuticle. This causes the gel color to lift as my nail grows and the color doesn't last as long. The one time I got a pedicure here, Kim messily painted my toe nails cause she was in a hurry and then just used acetone to clean around the nail. Justina, the owner, is a fantastic nail tech and does a meticulous job. The only problem with Justina is that she books out pretty far, and it isn't easy to get appointments with her any time I need them. If all of Justina's employees were as good as her, this nail salon would be the best in PVD. read more

She said about 3 sentences to me the entire time I was there for a manicure. I don't want a chatty Cathy, but at least a smile and maybe a few questions. If I could give stars for the job, I think it would be about a 4, but I don't like being treated like the next "job" in line. I finally made it back to Justina's and saw Justina herself -- what a fabulous experience, and one I look forward to repeating many times I the future. The space is clean, well lit and open. She has a wide selection of both Essie and OPI polish, as well as shellac. My mani and pedi were both relaxing and painless. She was gentle, efficient and polite. We chit chatted but she also let me relax and have some quiet time. The mani/pedi are both excellent. My cuticles, nail beds and tips are spotless and perfect, and she shaped them exactly the way I wanted. I cannot recommend Justina highly enough. I feel so lucky to have her just a short walk from my house -- I'll certainly be enjoying her services all summer long! read more

I called the morning of & was given an appointment for that afternoon, love that! I had a tiny wait when I arrived. The salon is quiet and the nail polish smell didn't carry me off for once. I started with a nice relaxing pedicure & after my feet were massaged, pampered & made pretty I started a manicure, I really liked her pace I never felt rushed & we had some small chit chat along the way. I asked to have a design on my nails - white on the base & a red line towards the tip. She said she can't do a line so I asked for red tips like a french but red instead of white. Easy enough? That is when my excellent experience wasn't so excellent anymore. She couldn't get the french to shape right & in the end it didn't look professional. She honestly tried & I told her it was fine. So the next day I had my nails repainted somewhere else. I would go back because everything else was very good. read more

Haven't had a pedicure in almost 2 months due to the fact that I moved to Riverside and haven't had time to visit Justina :( This is my new holy grail when it comes to my piggies. I walked in on a Thursday afternoon [4:30-5] and there were perhaps 3-4 other clients there. I was told to pick my color and wait about 10 minutes [not a problem since I was a walk-in] but after 5 minutes the girl walked over and escorted me to a seat. Now I normally hate getting my feet massaged due to being overly ticklish but once she started I didn't want her to stop. Never have my piggies received such attention and devotion lol. Fantastic addition to Hope Street! I went with Vilay S. to get a manicure. Both were quite pleased with the selection of colors (not huge but still nice offering) and quality of the manicure. The place is very warm and welcoming; it feels like it should also be a spa. Note- Justina's does not offer spa services even though spa is in the name. Maybe in the future?? Vilay S. and I didn't have appointments so I had to wait while Vilay got beautified by Grace. The other woman working offered me coffee or water while I was waiting (again, it felt like I was at a high-end salon/spa). There were plenty of fashion magazines to entertain me so it felt like time just flew by when it was my turn. I only needed a color change rather than a full manicure, but Grace took her time to trim and buff my nails. Not a bad start at all and continued to get better. Grace is very meticulous, and made sure the polish was applied evenly. We chatted about my crazy family and summer plans. By the end I was very happy with the quality and overall experience. Just had the worst gel mani I've ever had. She really didn't file my nails at all, and they're of varying lengths. Lotttttts of cuticle cutting though. She didn't bother to get all of the glue or old polish off, and there were bubbles and old glue in the polish, which she applied unevenly. She cured the glue layer on one hand and not the other. The top coat wasn't cured long enough so they're soft too. It was closing time and I didn't want to spend any more time there, so I paid and left. It would have been nice if she acknowledged the crappy job she did, and not made me pay full price. It looks like a 9 year old did it. read more
