I had an incredibly frustrating experience at the Concord location.
During my visit, I tried to use my birthday coupon, which entitled me to a free blind box. When an issue came up during checkout, the staff informed me that their system is literally incapable of canceling an active transaction. I explicitly told them I understood they have policies to follow, but forcing me to buy an extra item I didn't want was wrong. Instead of resolving the situation, they hovered over me and made me feel extremely uncomfortable, treating me like I was making a ridiculous request when all I wanted was my free reward. Because of this absurd system limitation and pressure, I was effectively forced to pay for a box I didn't want just to leave with the free one I earned.
I was so fed up that I walked out without a receipt. Every other retail store has basic point-of-sale systems that can cancel or void a transaction before payment. Forcing sales on customers and making them feel uncomfortable over a basic request is terrible business.
Management needs to fix these policies and train staff properly. I expect them to look up my transaction in their system, honor the free birthday box, and issue a full refund for the item I was forced to buy. Save yourself the headache and buy your blind boxes somewhere else. read more
