In the bustling West End of Long Beach, N.Y., I found my little piece of paradise. Minnesota's, a bar/restaurant that is located down the block from the serene beach. This restaurant is located on a strip called West Beech Street which has many shops, restaurants, and bars, which are all in walking distance of each other. As soon as I walk up to Minnesota's, I know I will have a great experience here due to the hostess' shirts that say, "Minnesota's Good Vibes-Great Times". As the hostess escorts us to our table, we immediately feel the island vibe. This may be because of the palm trees in the background on this beautiful outdoor seating area.As we sit down in the tan beachy chairs we are handed our menus. This menu contains many items such as traditional bar food including wings, nachos, salads, wraps, sandwiches, etc. We first tried the firecracker shrimp ($16) which was fantastic and was placed on a long plate with lettuce underneath containing 4-6 fried shrimp with sesame seeds. You could taste the sweet teriyaki sauce and then the kick from the sriracha. It was the perfect balance. The seafood is best incorporated into the bar's summer menu due to being right near the beach. We then got the Hot Honey Sandwich ($18) with no coleslaw. This sandwich is crunchy fried chicken with a hot honey sauce on top. You first taste the sweetness and then the kick just hits you all at once. It came with a side of fries which had the perfect amount of flavor and were some of the crispest fries we've ever had. Then for dessert, we got churro bites ($8) with ice cream on top with a glaze of caramel sauce. The sweetness of this dessert made me feel as if I were back at one of those Italian fairs I went to when I was younger. The service and food were phenomenal here. This restaurant is suitable for families, children, large groups, or couples. If you are ever thinking of going to a nice place to eat, look towards Minnesota's. read more

Minnesota's in Long Beach has a great location and a fun atmosphere, but my overall experience was right down the middle. The ambience is lively and energetic, especially if you're looking for a place to hang out near the water. It has that classic beach-town vibe that makes you want to relax, grab a drink, and enjoy the day. The setting is definitely a strong point, and it's easy to see why people like to stop in. The service, however, was pretty mediocre. Nothing was outright bad, but everything felt slow, unorganized, and a bit disconnected. It took longer than expected to get menus, longer to place orders, and even longer for simple things like drink refills. The staff wasn't rude, just not very attentive, almost like they were overwhelmed or simply not paying much attention. You don't expect perfection, but you do expect a smoother experience. The food was fine but not memorable. It arrived warm and tasted okay, but nothing stood out or made me feel excited to come back for the meal alone. With the location and the atmosphere, you want the food and service to match that energy, and unfortunately it just didn't get there. Overall, Minnesota's delivers a solid beach vibe with decent food, but the mediocre service brings the experience down. It's a decent place to stop by if you're already in the area, but it's not quite strong enough to be a go-to spot based on this visit. Three stars feels fair. read more

What a transformation this place has gone through! The beach decor really makes you feel like your matches the west end vibe. The food and drinks are delicious especially the Kicken Chicken Avocado Wrap! You have to try the Minni's Jungle Juice! This specialty drink is delish. When I was there, they even had amazing musicians playing an array of songs. Definitely will be frequenting the New Minni's alot! read more

This bar is a god-send! After a long day strolling around the beach on the first warm day of the year the fam and I were looking for somewhere to grab some afternoon food and drinks. Happened to stumble into the new and improved Minnesota's. Live music, great food, fairly priced drinks. SOLD! Minnesotas has always had a reputation in Long Beach for summer fun. Now under new ownership and management and with bright beachy decor, you will find a new fantastic menu and super friendly and knowledgeable staff mixed with fun in the sun. Its now a spot that the locals and out of towners can both equally enjoy. And you can't beat their daily specials like mussel madness mondays! read more

Stopped by this wonderful place on Friday afternoon for a bite to eat around lunchtime, and had a lovely server who made sure we felt welcome and pleased with everything. It's renovation makes it feel like a gorgeous place to relax and unwind after a day in the sun and grab food , a drink or both, 10/10 would recommend and I am definitely coming back! read more

Place takes itself way too seriously. You would think you were trying to get into the Vatican City with how much pride bouncers have stopping people from ripping nicotine. It was like entering another country. I respect a bouncer doing their job, but it's not the Washington capitol folks. Get off your high horse. read more

They have a back the blue flag but do NOT support cops. I would not support this place even if i was with my worst enemy: i will never be going back here ever again!!! Somebody should take down their thin blue line because their night security hates cops. read more
