I hosted a surprise birthday for my Dad at Minnesota's and was impressed all around. Starting with the initial planning, management was friendly and always willing to go above and beyond. Although Minnesota's has an extensive party menu selection, they were open to adding and changing items on the menu, and also allowed me to bring in my own cake. The day of the party, staff were beyond on top of things -- we had 2 dedicated servers who made it a priority to ensure everything went off without a hitch... the hostess outside even lent a helping hand trying to assist with ensuring my guests were all covered with parking. The quality of the food was beyond what I was even expecting... I got compliments on everything including the shrimp, steak, passed apps, etc. Overall, Minnesota's staff, ambiance and food/drink quality blew me away and really made my Dad's party. Unprofessional Security. Seams like security team at the venue working not to secure, but to implement physical skills without instant consequences, realizing that the staff has authority at the premises. We spend around $400 at the bar, paid cover fee, hence went to get some food with intention to come back and have great time. On returning back, they let two of us in, and the other two received refusal with explanation that all exits are final. At the same time security team were passing people in the venue. It than make sense.? After asking they letting whose people in but not us. I received this: "You have two seconds to disappear, if you wound I will kick you out, you pissing me off" ultimately after two second security guard pushed me out of premises. Horrible experience, unjust, and unconscionable experience. Never coming back. Business should not work like this. read more

This was a terrible experience due to the bouncer there. He was extremely rude to me and my family for no reason. We 100 % percent understand Covid rules, and we follow them to a tee. Came here last night for the wing special. Unlimited wings from 6-10pm and unlimited pitchers of coors light for 20pp. Myself and two women got there at 9pm. We were not acknowledged at all. The place was not packed. We ended up seating ourselves. By the time a waitress came up to us it was 930pm. We ended up just walking out. I asked to speak to a manager and was directed to the bartender who then ignored me. We will not be returning. Cant comment about the wings but the service was horrible. read more

Review solely based on night life: I came here on a saturday night around 10:45 & there was a zac brown tribute band playing. I found that Minnesota's had a bit of an older crowd, and played music to suit them more. The bathroom's are disgusting, and there was piles of beer bottles/cans everywhere, on the floor, in the bathroom, all over. Someone should definitely walk around periodically and pick them up. I went to two other bars in Long Beach this night and was most disappointed with Minnesota's. I think their hype comes from being the place to go in the summer, not when it's chilly out. I ordered two vodka redbulls which came out to $14 each. Insane price! The other two places were well below that price. Minnesota's doesn't stay open as late as the other bars in the area which is probably better that way. read more

Came here the other weekend, ordered 10 Traditional wings for $12.50 and Fried Seafood Platter - Sole, shrimp, scallops, french fries & cole slaw for $25. Wings tasted pretty bad, were cold and very small, the seafood platter not bad, I think a bit overpriced for what we've got though. Service was okay... waited for food a bit long. So we are locals that live down block from this place. We've avoided Minnesotas in the past because the old owner was not neighborhood friendly. These owners seem responsible and caring so we gave it a try. We love the outdoor seating. We were sat promptly and our server was very friendly. Took awhile for food to come out. Im sad to say that the food was not that great. The burger was just ok and my salmon dinner was definitely not wild and had bland fishy flavor. Two waitresses covered the entire floor. I ordered a mojito which tasted a lot more like simple syrup with mint. Ordered nacho tower, Bucket of clams, wings to start. Minessotas's has changed owners a few times in the couple of years. The burger we got was cold, shrimp cocktail came in a beer glass, and there was only 5 of them although we paid a full price ($12). Drinks were alright... Not great! And our burger as well as fries were cold.. the place is SLIGHTLY renovated; they replaced a few tables but still the same old vibe. I do not recommend this place after living in Atlantic Beach for 4 years and living in Long Beach for almost a year... Go somewhere else.. read more

A fresh new look for a west end staple. It has an awesome beach vibe with lots of space and natural light. the whole menu looks fantactic but both myself and my sister went with the Triple B Burger, it was fantastic. We washed them down with a few of their speciality margaritas and again, we were not disappointed. The staff and food are amazing. I've eaten here a half dozen times, even though it's very far from where I live, making the trip is very worth it. The type of food coupled with the quality, can not be beat for the cost. It's not often that I look at the bill and say, 'that's it!?'. Super cute renovation was done on this fun location in the middle of LB! Great beach vibes with bicycles and surfboards on the walls. Minnesota's give you that "I'm on vacay feeling". 1/2 price margaritas on Saturdays, buckets of beer, football and cornhole outback are a great way to have fun! If I could give negative 5 stars I would. WTF!!!! An hour and 35 minutes for 6 burgers, 2 wraps and a salad is absurd. We had one drink order taken and had to go to the bar for 3 other orders of drinks because our waitress wasn't to be found and we still hadn't received our food. Finally got our food after 1.35 hours and it was wrong . Asked for a manager and she apologized and said the hostess should have said it would be a 35 minute wait for food after they take your order. 35 minutes after they take your order doesn't equal over an hour and a half to get food at your table. I've served tables and tended bar in my life and i understand when things are backed up but for a waitress to ignore us and a manager to blame a hostess versus apologizing is not okay. Dear God. Where do I even begin with this one. I was here 4 days ago and a Titos and soda was $12. (They only offer Tito's or house vodka). Weird for a Long Beach bar but okay. So I was here Saturday night and got 3 $12 vodka sodas which I did think was a tad bit expensive but the bartender (a guy) told me upfront so I knew what I was getting into. He wasn't bad. I liked him. I had my drinks and left. Leaving him a $20 tip for 3 drinks. So I go back tonight (Wednesday) get two Titos and sodas and the bartender (a girl) tells me they're $14 each. So why on Saturday was that same drink $12 but now it's more? Her response? "oh I don't know I just press the button and that's what it says." ..cool. Glad they have bartenders that change the price on customers daily. She tells me she'll get the manager. Here you would think that a bartender would be able to handle a situation like this but I guess not. "Gavin", "the manager" comes over. Tells me "everytime you're here there's a problem with you". I'm sorry am I not allowed to ask as a customer why I'm being unfairly charged a different amount for the same drink I got the other day that was less money? That makes me difficult? He tries to get me to leave because we were getting into it and I said WTF, so because of my use of the F word that angered him. Sorry didn't realize we were in 7th grade and I can't be real and tell you this is ridiculous. So he tries to get me to leave and I just sat there befuddled wondering what I did wrong. He walks away, then comes back a few minutes later and apologizes for getting angry. Which I did appreciate. However his response was honestly ridiculous. He tells me, "sometimes they change the price on us, we don't know why they just randomly do". ...so you would think a "manager" would be informed of these "changes". But I guess not in this case. He then goes on to say "we all have bills to pay, I know it's a ridiculous price believe me I know that's expensive but if you don't like it don't come here" So he admitted that the price I was being charged was ridiculous but yet as a "manager" he wouldn't just take the $2 off and honor my original price. He was so hellbent on making me look like the bad guy just for questioning why I was being charged a crazy price for a simple drink. He got so flustered with a basic conversation of money over $2 per drink, that he had to make it seem like I was crazy just for asking why I was being charged a different price than the other day for the same thing. I'm so tired of every time I want to come here, fearing that this guy is going to be there to ruin my experience because he truly does. Every time. I've had other instances with him but nothing too major just uncomfortableness about this basic principle. He will argue with you over $2 before he just says okay you're a customer and we appreciate your business so we will honor what you are telling us and just accommodate you accordingly. Please if the owners are reading this and care to reach out to me privately I would like to rectify this because I'm tired of fearing this place because of one person. Every time I want to come here he makes it so uncomfortable. I literally was sitting at the bar alone having a drink not bothering anyone and he has the actual nerve to tell me that every time I'm there I cause a problem? I never write reviews but I've never been more disappointed in food, service and alcohol. The waitress came over without a notepad to take our order. She asked my friend 2x if she wanted fried or grilled chicken in her tacos. Both times my friend said GRILLED. The tacos came out fried. My other friend ordered tacos With sour cream and asked what were in the chicken tacos. The waitress responded "lettuce and cheese". The tacos came out with spicy chipotle sauce and pico de Gallo (No sour cream). My friend sent It back and said, " I asked what was in the tacos and you told me lettuce and cheese. I do not want the pico or chipotle sauce". (We waited an hour) The tacos came back with no sauce but still had pico de Gallo in them. She sent It back and said asked to order something else. The waitress said that the kitchen is backed up and It would take 45 minutes to order something else. Completely ridiculous!!!!! Worst service I ever experienced. On top of the drinks being terrible and our water never getting refilled. Sorry but this is completely unacceptable. When I heard it was going under new management, I was a little nervous, but they were able to renovate the place while maintaining it's awesome beach town vibe. I'm a 60 year old man that grew up in the 80's and have been to a lot of clubs with bouncers. But never in my years have a saw a group of bouncers looking for trouble so they can prove how bad ass they think they are. I Witnessed a bouncer dare a patron to fight him so they did and when it was time to defend himself the rest of them joined in. The job of the bouncer is to show tolerance and protect the patrons from each other. Who is there to protect the patrons from the bouncer. Make sure to keep an eye on your credit card here. My girlfriend paid for a drink and didn't receive her card back from the bartender. When she asked about it, the bartender immediately told her that they did not have any cards without making an effort to look for her. We called the phone number listed on the website the next day, and were greeted by a man roughly asking why we were calling the "back office". I told him that number was listed online, and he got flustered, told me that I was calling the wrong number and said someone would call back. After an hour went by without a follow-up, we called again and were told that we would have to come in person to check for the card. We explained that we do not live very close and that it would be really helpful if they could check before we committed to the drive. The woman I was speaking to told me that they were a "very busy restaurant and can't take the time to check for every lost card that people call about." Every representative of the restaurant was extremely rude and had no interest in taking a few minutes to help out their customers. Last weekend my fiancé and I had our engagement party at Minnesota's, and they went above and beyond any expectations we could have had. If you are looking for a venue for a birthday party, anniversary engagement party I highly recommend them. Speak to Ryan she was absolutely helpful. Not only was the food and service great but my future brother in law ended up dropping our cake 20 minutes prior to our party, I spoke to Ryan, the manager, and within one our she had a replacement cake with the correct writing and design.
