We love Minsky's Pizza. The price is a little higher, but it has great food from a local chain. We love it...except for this location. It's been a while since we last ordered in from Minsky's, and apparently they really messed up in that last order since we had a $10 credit. After our experience last night, we won't be going back to this location ever again though. The ordering process seemed simple. We called the order in, and the gentleman who took the order was thorough. The order was 100% right when it was read back to us. We only had one modification on my personal-sized pizza - no red peppers. This is going to be an important detail. Thirty-minutes later, we head over to pick it up. The order is read back to us as we pick it up, and it's correct. We get home, start eating it and there are peppers. Now, you may be thinking, "What's the deal? It's just peppers. Pick them off." - You can't pick them off. Minsky's puts cheese over their toppings, so picking off any topping would require de-cheesing the pizza completely. Who wants that? - I have an intolerance to peppers, especially for peppers that aren't as processed. This was a real reason why I wanted the peppers to be left off. Even the one bite I took ended up with a reaction :-( That isn't what ended up with the one-star. We get that even though the order was right, things happen. It's okay to have a goof if you want to make it right. Once we saw the peppers, we called back to request a new pizza. The manager didn't really seem to care (another important detail) but said the pizza would be ready in 30 minutes. He never did offer to comp the pizza they messed up. Thirty minutes later, we went back to Minsky's. This is now the second trip in about an hour. We go in, and the young woman who is managing the pick-ups doesn't find out order. She goes to find the manager and they huddle around. This isn't good. She returned to say it'll be five minutes. My husband made the comment that they forgot to make the pizza, didn't they. She laughed, shrugged and moved on. The manager comes out. He said that the kitchen staff made the pizza but threw it away. No apology. Nothing. He told my husband "five minutes" and never returned. It wasn't five minutes. It wasn't 10 minutes. More than an hour after he placed the second call, it was finally ready. The manager never once admitted their mistake, even though the order showed it 100% was. He never attempted to give us a credit or even acknowledge the inconvenience he caused. Was the pizza good when we finally got it? Yes! The cauliflower crust is fantastic. Was it worth it? No. The management here is ruining this location, and there's no way to even recommend returning here unless that changes. There are serious issues here that have gone on unchecked. read more

We had a really bad dining experience and will not come back to this location. It took an hour for 2 medium pizzas to come out. Olivia, the server, was MIA, leaving our water glasses empty. We had to walk up to the counter to check on our pizzas. When the server did come by later to fill our waters (bc we had walked up to the counter twice already to get refills), she slammed a water glass seeming to be mad when we asked about the pizzas. My bf called and ordered pizza from this place. They were nice enough that they were going to deliver to us since we were out of their delivery zone. They did not get his phone number or verify the address. 45 mins later no pizza. So he called them back the worker he talked to said the driver hadn't left yet with the pizza because they couldn't find the address. So, they had it on a warm for approximately 30 mins. The worker gave the "General manager". The manager was giving him the run-around. Told him he didn't want to argue. The dude didn't offer to remake the pizza. After a minute of him going back and forth the manager. Said pizza was on its way and he would void the payment. Also lied and said the pizza hasn't been on a warmer. read more

I had the best time here. Not only was the food great, but the service was even better. If you ever come here I highly recommend asking for Ren as a waitress. Minsky's has always proven to be consistent over time. We have never eaten in, it has always been take out. I love that they have a gluten free menu, since I'm gluten sensitive. Pizzas come out on time, cashiers are nice. Tonight's pizza was a custom made, gluten free small pizza--I told them to add veggies and sausage. 01 Feb 2024 - Impressed by the customer service but pizza was barely adequate. In anticipation of a gathering at 6pm today, I placed an on-line order for the Metcalf location with a pickup time of 5:40pm for three pizzas (approx. $60). I arrived at 5:35pm and the slacker cashier said there was no order prepared for me. We checked by name and by telephone number - still nothing. Figuring I mistakenly ordered from the College Blvd location (equidistant to my destination) I left and went to that second location. There, Tim the manager was sympathetic and helpful. He tracked down the error by speaking with the Metcalf location (this wasn't an solution offered by any Metcalf staff member). I did actually place the order at Metcalf and, according to Mark (manager at Metcalf) my order was cancelled and the pies really should have been ready for me. Tim (College location) rushed the order and provided me a $10 discount (Thanks!) and I was only 20 minutes late to my dinner. I later called Mark at the Metcalf location to confiirm my lost order was not credited to my card. Mark (Metcalf location) was apologetic but I remain UNIMPRESSED. Kudos to Tim (College location), although the pies themselves were only average and pricey for what we ended up eating. All told, I won't be ordering from either of these Minsky's location again. I ordered the $6.49 weekday lunch special (a slice of pizza, a side salad with breadstick, and a drink) at my table. The salad and drink were delivered promptly, and the pizza was ready in about 10 minutes. The salad was fairly substantial, and included a good variety of fresh ingredients. HORRIBLE!!!!!! Called in order 2 and 1/2 hours ahead of pick-up time as I know restaurants are short and that way they would have time to make it. I could tell the boy on the phone had no idea what the HELL he was doing as he had to keep leaving the phone to ask someone in the back ground how to order different things. Got home with dinner and it was TERRIBLE.. We had no dinner as we had to throw it out. When I called the teenage girl manager I told her I wanted credit on my charge card which she did but never even offered an apology. Pizza is awesome. I recommend the Italian Buffalo or the papa Minskies. Worth the price. However, what is seriously disappointing is the jumbo wings for 14.99.. Expensive, and they have the potential to be amazing.. But 3 trips here and they are very dry and under-sauced.... And often over-cooked. Would be amazing wings if they just didn't skimp on the sauce and cooked them more evenly. Otherwise the pizza is the best in Kansas City. Just got a long ways to go on the wings. read more

I've ordered from here plenty of times before and as you can see I've left a review previously. I still agree that they have the best pizza, especially in town. However in my recent delivery order the customer service wasn't good. The girl who answered the phone kept slurring her words. Even after I said it was difficult to understand her. Ironically she said she had difficulty understanding me after I said that. So I guess her hearing as well as her speech was off. I ordered right when they opened at 11am and wasn't expecting any employees to be that off their game. I asked her to tell me what salads they had and what the SPECIFIC ingredients were. After she told me, I asked her to repeat it, because it was difficult to understand her. She repeated the information for me and I decided on the bacon and chicken salad. She said it came with ONLY olives, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and bacon. I requested mine to have the olives and tomatoes removed. As you can see by the photo included, the salad delivered to me came with also croutons and eggs. THANK GOD I don't have an egg allergy because even after removing the eggs I could taste them. I'm also thankful I wasn't ordering it for a child who had an egg allergy. I would've wasted my money entirely since none of it would've been worth the risk to eat. read more

A little pricey, but well worth it! This is some of the best pizza around. The cheese is excellent, the toppings are generous and the crust is perfect. We love the 'Jumbo Combo' - it's loaded with good stuff and is always a hit. They deliver to us, usually within 45 minutes. The fresh parmesan they give you is a nice treat as well. read more
