We tried the deep dish pizza. The crust is actually thin. The deep part is cheese, about an inch of cheese is the base, then minimal toppings and tons of sauce. The flavor is good, but feeling like all the cheese was clogging my arteries was not. We threw the leftovers away. It was not worth eating. read more

My wife and I made the track across town to check out Third Coast Pizza as we saw they had a good deep dish on Yelp. The gal working at the restaurant (by herself) was the cashier, the cook and the cleaning crew. Bless her heart! She did a great job and took wonderful care of us. I started off with a small side salad, which was very good. Then my wife ordered an Italian beef sandwich which she said was tasty, but not the best one she ever had. I ordered a deep dish Chicago pizza for us and we enjoyed it. The crust was cracker thin, but still held all of the toppings. The sauce on the top of the dish was just delicious! This is an amazing restaurant. I had the Windy City pizza. I had the 10" deep dish and I swear it had to be 1 1/2" thick! That's the smallest size and afterwards I was told it feeds 2-3 people. I could only eat 1 1/2 pieces got a box for the rest. So good and filling! They have a menu with other Italian dishes besides pizza. I want to try it all eventually. You order at the counter after you are seated and look at the menu. You get your drinks and they bring the food to your table. There is a bar next door where you can have wine and cocktails and you can order your food from there as well. The price is really reasonable with a huge serving. The people are really friendly and I think they might be family. There were only three of them but so organized and timely. We will return for sure. read more

Second time in two weeks! Deep dish pizza is amazing! If you got two people you only need a small. Of course we also had a Chicago dog each. This time I had the Italian sandwich which was delicious and my boyfriend had the Chicago dog and we each had a side Caesar Salad. I have to say that the carrot cake is the best I've ever had in my life and I am definitely a carrot cake connoisseur. It is moist and flavorful and it has the perfect proportion of cream cheese frosting in every bite. Is their grandmother's recipe and it is unbelievably amazing. We ordered the Windy City deep dish style. Good thick tomato sauce that is really concentrated. Board line too much cheese and good quality toppings which is what you want with Chicago style pizza. However, crust is cracker like a Pizza Shoppe crust which is different then other Chicago style pizza places. There was also something gritty in the cheese, like too much of that powder that makes cheese not stick together. We got mozzarella sticks too, nothing special but fired perfectly. First time here today. Location is in a strip mall. Plenty of seating. My wife and I shared a small deep dish Windy City pizza. It was really good. The sauce was awesome. Glad the cashier downsized our large to a small because it was a lot of pizza for two people. House salad was nice and has several ingredients in it. Prices were good. They don't offer beer or wine but you can bring in your own. Some guests had coolers and bottles of wine. I went to Casey's across the street for a 6 pack while our pizza cooked. The server at OC tried to warn us that their deep-dish pizza wasn't actually Chicago style deep dish. It was basically like pizza hut deep dish. So, we ate one slice each at "Old Chicago" and looked up Authentic Deep Dish on our phones and found "Third Coast Pizza". We went there and got what we were really looking for. One slice of Third Coast Pizza is about as filling as three slices from OC, and the price difference between their large pizzas is less than a dollar!!! The owner was running the place. He answered all of our questions. Was pleasant to talk with. Told us our pizza would take about 30 minutes in the oven. This time, we were definitely not disappointed! I live in the area and had wanted to try this place for a while. Don't know why I waited so long--I loved this food! Two of us split a large Caesar salad. It was delicious. Some of the best dressing I've had; it wasn't fishy tasting at all, just garlicky goodness. We also shared a 10-inch deep dish pizza. It was fabulous!
