During my initial phone consultation I explained my dental anxiety and past experiences with dentists (within my insurance network), and how my fear may make it seem like I'm an unfavorable patient. The attendant immediately calmed me and explained what I would likely experience during my checkup, and they would make sure my visit was pleasant. This office DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Sitting in my car, I already felt the anxiety building because dental visits can be nerve-racking for me. When I checked my appointment again, I realized I was actually scheduled at Fair Lakes Family Dentistry, so I drove over hoping this experience would be different. The moment I walked in, the beautiful lobby and welcoming staff immediately shifted the tone. A.D., the dental assistant, called me back and introduced herself with such warmth that my guard began to lower. Our conversation felt natural and calming, which helped me relax before the appointment even began. Then I met Corey, the dental hygienist. When he spoke, I noticed his accent and asked where he was from. When he said Memphis, I smiled instantly--because I'm from Memphis too, born and raised. That small moment of connection turned what could have been a stressful appointment into something much more human. Corey listened as I shared my past dental concerns and experiences. His empathy, patience, and attentiveness made me feel like a person, not just a patient. As a counselor, I deeply value when professionals create a space where someone feels seen, heard, and respected. Corey did exactly that. I…read morewent in for a basic new patient cleaning and instead was taken through a very structured process--X-rays, scans, multiple staff evaluations--only to be told I had "active periodontal disease" and needed thousands of dollars in deep cleaning and treatments. When I declined, I asked for a standard cleaning--the reason I scheduled the visit--but was told they would not perform it because the dentist had already diagnosed periodontal disease. So I left without receiving any cleaning at all. What really raised a red flag: when I said I couldn't afford the treatment, they suddenly lowered the price. By then, the trust was gone. The whole experience felt more like a sales pipeline than a dental visit. Afterward, I saw multiple reviews describing the exact same situation. DONT GO HERE!

Back in late March, I put a $200 deposit down. I decided to go to a different dentist based upon insurance needs. I was told by Ashley and Carla that I would receive a refund of this deposit. I have called over 4 times, left voicemails and emailed MiraBella Smiles since March. Every time, I have been told they have either sent an email or will reach out soon. They have yet to reach out. I told her I forgot and asked if I could still come in. I was about 40 minutes late and still taken care of. She was very nice and pleasant. She made future appointments for myself and my daughter to ensure we were seen before the year is up to get our cleanings in, I also like the fact that they will call you the day before to remind you of your appointment. My x-ray tech was fine. That process went smooth, no issues. She was also kind and respectable. Here's where the issue begins....I had to have a deep cleaning done. I was told it would be would be performed by the doctor. I'm assuming it was the other doctor because I know for a fact it wasn't the one/owner I saw before. This woman had on black scrubs and was slender. Throughout the entire procedure, water was everywhere; just pooling all around my neck, to the back of my neck and down my back. My shirt was soaked, the little bib they give you was completely destroyed. It was like a 5 year doing something and making a total mess. She was called away for a moment, then another lady came in with pink scrubs on to finish where she left off. The entire time she was in my mouth, doing the exact same thing there was absolutely no water running down my shirt or anywhere else. She had the suction placed in the properly in my mouth to catch the spraying water. It was a complete day and night experience. If I have to see that other Dr again I will not be going back. However, I did receive a parting gift at the end of my appointment. It was a toothbrush, mouthwash and floss. That didn't make up for the poor experience but it was something, I guess,
