Having lived in India for almost a year and eaten at Indian restaurants galore, you might say that I'm a big fan of Indian Food...I'm also very picky when it comes to Indian food. My five stars is, of course, in context of this being Gainesville, however, with that understanding, this is hands down the best and most authentic Indian cuisine that I've had in Gainesville (yes I've tried them all) and I would even say on this side of Orlando. It's 100% Veg, so know that going there, but the flavors are legitimate and they don't try to win you over by adding as much cream and ghee as they can pack into each dish. They also offer dishes that you will not commonly find at other local Indian restaurants such as Masala Dosa, Sambar and even one of my personal fav's, Pav Bhaji. Was the Dosa that I ordered giant, perfectly browned, and crunchy...no, LOL, that would have been a miracle. No miracles here, but it still had a rich deep flavor and was surprisingly delicious. Final Summary: Far more tasteful and authentic flavors than average. You should definitely give it a try. read more

I was hesitant to try this restaurant because I wasn't a big fan of the previous restaurant at the location and I wasn't sure if it was the same owner. I'm so glad I walked in and tried it! The food is spiced perfectly and super flavorful. It's one of the only places I've eaten where I feel like those in the kitchen are cooking with love and truly enjoy it. Literally tastes so delicious, fresh, and homemade. I had the paneer bhurji and the manchurian. Absolutely fireeee. The food didn't have any of those artificial colorings or crap you see in many other Indian resturaunts. This was my first time going there. I had ordered Paneer Matar, chola puri, Paneer Makhani, and Garlic naan. The food was amazing with great quality and quantity. I have tried many Indian places in Gainesville but for vegetarians it's a best place to eat (BTW, it's a vegetarian place, they don't serve meat). They have authenticity in their food. Ridiculous long wait for food, terrible attitude from the server without an apology for the 45 minute wait. I regret giving a tip in the beginning. If we had known it would've taken so long for our food, we would have gone elsewhere. Food was average. Tables were disgusting covered with food crumbs, vinyl, and dirty placemats. We ordered from Mint the other night and it is by far the best Indian food in Gainesville. The flavors are delicious and have a good spice to them. All their dishes are vegetarian, but they are so delicious you won't miss the meat. We tried the Dosa (always a treat to find somewhere serving dosas!), the samosas, and several other dishes. This is my first review on yelp, but I had to because this is the best indian food in Gainesville! (Probably some of the best I've had (ever)!) It's a small place with a few tables and you go up to order your food with the cashier. I asked her for a recommendation and she said, "I can't decide, everything here is delicious." But, after managing to decide what to order, it then came out pretty quickly. And, oh boy, was it delicious!! I ordered malai kofta and my friend ordered the veggie korma, and dude, they were both amazing. I liked the malai kofta more because it was like, I can't get enough of every bite because it's not enough of how delicious this food is, delicious. I also got the mango lassi (a classic) which was amazing, too (they gave a lot). It's just a little pricey (my bill was 18 with the malai kofta/one naan/mango lassi, understandable) but that's the price of perfection. And, it will definitely fill you up! Would I come back? -- Definitely! I would try to come here every day if I could! (And, I'm already considering going back today after visiting yesterday haha). read more

I am not Indian, but my girlfriend is. We ordered a wide variety of entrees, and shared them with her family, about 8 of us. Every single item was fantastic. I was a little worried that none of the dishes had meat in them, but once we started eating, that thought was erased completely.
