As soon as I began to say "Hi, picking up an order..." the worker yelled very loudly "ORDER FOR ROB" all while still maintaining eye contact with me, like 2 feet from my face. Really took me aback to have someone yell in my face while blankly staring at me. After he was done yelling, he looked blankly at me (not saying anything), so I was like "Uh, I'm here for an online order..." and he shuffled off to get it. Took my food and left feeling puzzled by the entire exchange. But the food itself was good. Hot, fresh, huge servings (couldn't finish my sandwich and fries). Juicy chicken with crispy breading. If they can figure out how to staff their counter with even mildly personable people, they'd be in good shape.

It wasn't crispy by itself, it was only slightly crispy due to the amount of sesame seeds there was. I also tried their Lunch Special: Dried Sautéed String Beans ($14.50) and Lunch Special: Lamb with Jalapeños ($15.50). The String Beans was not the flavor that I was expecting, they were very heavy-handed on the preserved veggie and it was way too salty. The Lamb was probably the best dish flavor wise. There wasn't enough Lamb, but the sauce was good to dip the bread in. The waiter who took my takeout order was very friendly. Overall, this is not a bad place, it just isn't for me.

Our ordered food then arrived, and as we ate he switched the conversation to the lack of sports and business opportunities during the Covid pandemic and how he proudly didn't get vaccinated. I had been prioritized for a vaccination due to my profession and gotten it, and as soon as I mentioned that (in conversation, not confrontationally cos it was so long ago anyway and the subject doesn't need to be divisive) his mood and attitude to my partner and I soured. The conversation abruptly and awkwardly ceased, and we felt very unwelcome. Sure enough, when I went to pay the bill we were charged for the supposedly-free fountain drinks, and I didn't feel I could risk furthering ill-feeling towards us by disputing it. We left, regretting our choice of dinner. The food itself was at least good (albeit not outstanding compared to other local Mediterranean options) hence the star rating I've still given, but with the extra fountain drink cost that we wouldn't otherwise have incurred it turned into an expensive meal. In addition, and needless to say, the negative interaction left a very sour taste. I can't see myself going back. TL:dr; Go for the food, or get delivery, but beware that offers of 'free' items may not remain so.

A simple, "I'll be right with you." or "Give me a moment." would have been great but we got nothing so we walk out. As we walk out, we see her return to behind the register (still on the phone - still no inkling that she had any interest in helping customers). I can't even recall experiencing a complete disregard for helping customers or making a sale. Maybe business is booming and they don't need our money... This was pretty disappointing so we took our dinner order elsewhere, in the same shopping center. Oh well...

I'm so thrilled to share that my favorite Pakistani/Indian restaurant has reopened after being closed for some time, and it's even better than before! The renovations have completely transformed the place--it's upscale, with a softly dimmed ambiance and mellow lighting that creates a cozy, inviting vibe. The projector showing old Indian songs adds a nostalgic touch and is absolutely aesthetically pleasing. The bathrooms are beautifully done and spotless, a nice extra touch. Customer service here is top-notch, with the staff greeting you warmly and always wearing a smile, making you feel right at home. Though the space isn't huge, it was packed on a Sunday night, a true testament to its popularity. As for the food, we ordered a variety of dishes. The chicken karhai was decent but didn't stand out much. However, the mutton karhai was exceptional--succulent and tender, practically melting in your mouth. The butter chicken was okay, not bad but also nothing spectacular. If you love lamb, the lamb seekh kababs are a must-try--deliciously flavorful! The samosa chaat was a delightful surprise and hit the right spot, with a perfect balance of chutney and yogurt that was simply irresistible. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely be back. What's even better is that the prices are more affordable than places like Khan Sahab, but the quality doesn't fall short. I rarely write reviews, but our experience at Mint was abysmal. We came here for a special occasion with my parents, and the entire evening was ruined by terrible service and subpar food. To start, the restaurant wasn't even remotely full, yet the service was incredibly slow. After waiting for ages after placing our order, our food was brought out one single item at a time, completely destroying the flow of a family dinner. To make matters worse, the staff couldn't even be bothered to keep our water glasses filled throughout the night. When the food finally arrived, it was a massive disappointment. It somehow managed to be both over-spiced and under-spiced at the same time. The biryani, in particular, was completely bland and sad-tasting. Also, the quality of meat was overall unacceptable. The goat dish (supposedly their star dish) was full of sharp, dangerous bone fragments. And boy the portions were stingy. For the tiny amount they serve, this place is severely overpriced. We left with a literal and figurative bad taste in our mouths, feeling incredibly disappointed and sad that the special night we'd planned with our parents had fallen so flat. I tried this place yesterday, it's been over 5 years since the last time I came here. I like to start off by saying that the restaurant looks completely different after their innovation, it looks so nice and classy inside. Very very inviting, relaxing lighting and decorations on the walls. The service was truly excellent, our waitress was very attentive and answered a lot of our questions about the different types of food that they have, it was truly very pleasing to speak to someone who took the time. Finally, I'm getting to the good stuff, the food tasted excellent, we had chickem tikka masala and seekh kabab... We enjoyed the seekh kebab more than the chicken but they were both delicious. The kebab tasted excellent, very very flavorful and it was amazing to have with the naan bread. I would definitely recommend it. The chicken tikka masala tasted good, I would definitely get it a lot more spicy, but the taste was very very nice. My only reservation is that I would probably just make sure to get it spicy because without all the spiciness, it's kind of tastes a little bit bland, but you can tell the chicken was excellent quality. read more

WARNING: Stay Away from Mint Restaurant I've never in my life been treated with such disrespect as I was at this place. I came in as a DoorDash driver just to pick up a coffee for a customer, and instead of showing any professionalism, the staff called me a "dirty fat piece of shit" right to my face. Absolutely unbelievable. On top of that, they made me wait 40 minutes for a single coffee. Forty minutes! For a drink that should've taken less than a minute. Meanwhile, customers in the restaurant were clearly uncomfortable with how the staff was behaving--loud, rude, and careless. But the worst part? Two massive rats ran right through the dining area while people were eating. Everyone saw it, and it was horrifying. One poor grandpa was so disgusted he actually threw up right there at his table. Instead of apologizing or handling it, the staff just shrugged it off like it was normal. This place is dirty, nasty, and toxic from the top down. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. If you value your dignity (and your stomach), do yourself a favor and NEVER come here. read more

My experience at Mint was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the atmosphere is wonderful. The restaurant has a beautiful, upscale aesthetic, and the interior is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The staff members were also incredibly polite, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door.However, the food and value left a bit to be desired. While the Garlic Naan was excellent and the Chicken Tikka Masala had a great flavor profile, the meat itself was slightly dry. Furthermore, the portion sizes are quite small given the premium price point, making the overall value feel a bit lacking. When i first saw the sign go up that they were opening up i got so excited! Indian buffets are my favorite. I have to be honest and say i wasn't actually sure they would have a buffet but sure enough! The first day they open up im there and right as i walk in. All my favorites are there. Rice, yogurt, chicken tandoori , Spicy lamb. And more importantly a reasonably priced buffet. The buffet is open from 11-3:00 and the service. Thats my favorite part. Imagine your favorite aunt and uncle opening there own restaurant. Its basically like eating at home. They have been open for only a few weeks and i honestly have been there for lunch like 7 times! Absolutely incredible! This Indian restaurant delivered one of the most authentic dining experiences I've had outside of India. Every dish was bursting with traditional flavors and spices -- you could truly taste the care and heritage in every bite. The aroma, the presentation, the texture -- everything was on point. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance made me feel like I had stepped into a little piece of India. This is my first review on Yelp and let me tell you something. This is one of the best places I have ever been to. I was so sad when my favorite restaurant Tamarind of London closed down, because I use to go there all the time. When I got to know that the chef opened up a restaurant, this is what got me there. My favorite dish is the Lamb Chops and I am waiting to go again and try the Nihari once they have it on the menu. Came to this spot the other day and had a great time. Not only was the food delicious, but the restaurant's atmosphere was lively and welcoming. We were greeted by Khoshbo, who was warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. We ordered the chicken tikka, lamb biryani, korma, freshly baked garlic naan, and roti. I used to come to this restaurant when it was much smaller when they first began, but now I was really impressed that it really increased in size. Right now it is double or triple the seating area of what it used to be, so it is really impressive. Regarding the food, the best options are 1- Chicken Tikka Masala 2- Tandoori Chicken 3- Chicken Biryani 4- Garlic Naan 5- Cheese Naan (Must eat it very hot or else don't order it) You won't go wrong with these options. read more

Best South Asian food in OC. You can get Indian standards but you really should try the Mint Specials. They are all amazing and I believe use more Pakistani spices which I think are more savory and complex. In any case, get off the Chicken Tikka Masala to take full advantage of the OC treasure that is Mint! They are fantastic! read more

Had another amazing visit to Mint this week! Wish I could get here more often. Best Indo-Pak food in the greater LA area - probably in the country. I don't like eating out a desi restaurants quite often, but this is one place I'd definitely be down to come eat at again. It's an excellent fusion of ethnic food and American cuisine. We were the first to enter as soon as they opened and we decided to try the dosas. I ordered the Mysore dosa and my friend got the masala dosa. We also ordered the fried pepper corn from the appetizer menu. It was fantastic. The dosas were crisp and tasty. We really enjoyed it. As we were eating the crowds started slowly increasing and by the time we left the restaurant was pretty full. It's a nice little restaurant, clean and tidy and service was quick and the servers were friendly and welcoming. I will definitely go back soon and I must try the biryani. Highly recommended this restaurant.
